Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome is a potentially life-threatening, idiosyncratic, acute adverse drug reaction. Fever, morbilliform cutaneous eruption, and eosinophilia are essential features for the diagnosis of this syndrome, along with significant multisystem involvement, hepatitis being the most common, followed by nephritis. The pathogenesis of DRESS syndrome is not yet fully understood. Several hypotheses have been proposed which support the involvement of an intricate interplay of multiple factors. Starting from a new organic sunscreen synthesized in our laboratory by the condensation of sodium salt of the p-aminosalicylic acid with 2,6 – dichloroacetanilide, efficient cosmetic formulation with broad photoprotective properties was obtained by using the new compound as organic UV filter, metal oxides as inorganic filters, and vegetable extracts, oils and other ingredients with emollient, protective, and moisturizing effect. After showing the lack of toxicity of the new compound, in order to reduce the amount of UV filter used, it was encapsulated into nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs). Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) varies in presentation and the patient’s symptoms of regurgitation in the throat or epigastric pain do not necessarily correlate with the severity of their disease. This general overview of GERD will include information on guidelines and diagnostic testing; lifestyle, medical and surgical management; and GERD in special populations. The present study investigated the relative agreement between adolescent self-reports and friend informant reports of behavior problems as well as factors that might impact this agreement. High school students were placed into friendship dyads based on perceived friendship closeness and rated friendship quality, their own internalizing and externalizing behavior problems, and the behavior problems of their matched friend. Self- and friend ratings demonstrated high levels of agreement across behavior problems presentations. Further, raters’ own behavior problems were related inconsistently to rating agreement, whereas friendship quality demonstrated some impact on the informant’s reports of specific behavior problems. OBJECTIVE: To validate the use of electronic algorithms based on International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-10 codes to identify outpatient visits for urinary tract infections (UTI), one of the most common reasons for antibiotic prescriptions.

METHODS: ICD-10 symptom codes (e.g., dysuria) alone or in addition to UTI diagnosis codes plus prescription of a UTI-relevant antibiotic were used to identify outpatient UTI visits. Chart review (gold standard) was performed by two reviewers to confirm diagnosis of UTI. Many adolescents avoid seeking psychological help despite the increasing prevalence of mental disorders. The current study investigated whether distress and stigma exhibit differential relationships to decisions to seek online mental health information among a sample of predominantly racial/ethnic minority U.S. adolescents. In this investigation, 174 adolescents (Age: M = 15.90, SD = 0.85, Range = 14−19) completed assessments of help-seeking stigma, psychological distress, and a question asking if they would like to view a website with mental health information.
