Background: The inflammatory reaction of foreign body granulomas (FBG) may be so vast that it leads to severe systemic effects. Case Report: A 42-year-old woman was referred to the ED with severe recurrent symptomatic hypercalcemia associated with worsening kidney function. She had presented multiple times with similar complaints. Severe hypercalcemia (13.8 mg/dL) was noted, with appropriately low PTH, elevated PTHrP, low 25-hydroxyvitamin D, and normal 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D levels. She admitted having significant subcutaneous silicone filler injections in the hips six years prior. A major limitation of most metabolomics datasets is the sparsity of pathway annotations for detected metabolites. It is common for less than half of the identified metabolites in these datasets to have a known metabolic pathway involvement. Trying to address this limitation, machine learning models have been developed to predict the association of a metabolite with a “pathway category”, as defined by a metabolic knowledge base like KEGG. Background: The study objective was to test the hypothesis that low crude protein (CP) diet with crystalline amino acids (CAA) supplementation improves Lys utilization efficiency for milk production and reduces protein turnover and muscle protein breakdown. Eighteen lactating multiparous Yorkshire sows were allotted to 1 of 2 isocaloric diets (10.80 MJ/kg net energy): control (CON; 19.24% CP) and reduced CP with "optimal" AA profile (OPT; 14.00% CP). Problem Statement: Approximately, 90% of patients with Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM) are treated by primary care providers (PCPs) and with a growing aging population, and a shrinking primary care workforce, the demand for PCPs to provide care to diabetics is only expected to further worsen.

Uncontrolled diabetes may cause preventable but significant effects. One major preventative measure is early screening; there are hopes that community healthcare workers can increase awareness and screening availability, especially in underserved populations. We hosted and recorded logs of patients at mobile COVID health clinics, educating those with uncontrolled diabetes and connecting them to healthcare. We then looked to see if any patients had improvements in blood glucose to non-diabetic levels. 378 patients were logged, but only 138 were in events that had a significant amount of repeat visits. Diabulimia is a disordered eating behavior that involves an individual with type 1 DM withholding insulin injection to lose weight. Diabetes distress, a term used to describe the psychological stress associated with managing diabetes, is believed to be the cause of this condition. This review aims to assess whether individuals with diabulimia have measurable evidence of diabetes distress. Studies that described patients qualitative experiences with Diabulimia were matched and compared to the criteria in the Diabetes Distress Scale. Objectives: The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in cancer treatment is increasing. Literature about endocrinopathies associated with ICIs in children is limited. This study investigates ICIs and thyroid dysfunction in pediatric patients at one institution.

Methods: Retrospective chart review of patients ages 1 to 19 was completed who received any of the following ICIs between January 2000 and November 2023: PD-1 inhibitors (nivolumab or pembrolizumab), PD-L1 inhibitors (durvalumab or atezolizumab), and CTLA-4 inhibitors (ipilimumab or tremelimumab). To the best of our knowledge, there are no reports in the literature of an open comminuted scaphoid fracture dislocation. We present such a rare case. The case report illustrates the case of a 58-year-old right-handed press operator who injured his left wrist when his hand got caught in a press machine. He received initial treatment at another hospital and was subsequently referred to our hospital. Eight days after the injury, surgery was performed under the brachial plexus block. Objective: Screening for health-related social needs (HRSNs) is recommended as part of routine diabetes care given the strong impact of social factors on health outcomes. Our objective was to compare diabetes-related health outcomes among youth presenting to a tertiary diabetes center based on whether they screened positive or negative for HRSNs at a routine clinic visit. Methods: Baseline data were collected from patients whose parent/guardian completed a HRSN screen as part of their child’s diabetes clinic intake from 9/1/21 to 8/30/22.
