Koebnerization of pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is an infrequently reported reaction. We present a 65-year-old man with Koebnerized pemphigus vulgaris after Mohs microscopic surgery for a basal cell carcinoma. We present this case to heighten awareness of the phenomenon in the dermatological community.

DACH1 abundance is reduced in human malignancies, including breast cancer. Herein DACH1 was detected among multipotent fetal mammary stem cells in the embryo, among mixed lineage precursors, and in adult basal cells and (ERα⁺) luminal progenitors. Dach1 gene deletion at 6 weeks in transgenic mice reduced ductal branching, reduced the proportion of mammary basal cells (Lin⁻ CD24^med CD29^high) and reduced abundance of basal cytokeratin 5, whereas DACH1 overexpression induced ductal branching, increased Gata3 and Notch1, and expanded mammosphere formation in LA-7 breast cells. opical photodynamic therapy (PDT), or blue light therapy, isa procedure using a photosensitizing agent, or precursoragent 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), and is commonly usedto treat precancerous actinic keratosis. The 5-ALA is takenup by skin lesions through targeting cells with high turnoverthat are metabolically active (malignant proliferation) andconverted to the photoactive drug protoporphyrin IX.Following exposure to blue light, significant cell destructionoccurs which has been linked to the generation of reactiveoxygen species (1). Though PDT is effective, several studieshave suggested that this procedure results inimmunosuppression, which might limit the effectiveness ofthis therapy. Systemic sclerosis is a systemic inflammatory diseasecharacterized by a triad of autoimmune reactions,vasculopathy, and fibrosis due to collagen deposition. Thediffuse sclerosis type includes vascular abnormalities in theskin (puffy, taut, thickened skin, pitting of fingertips), soft tissues(arthralgias, myalgias), lungs (pulmonary hypertension,interstitial fibrosis), gastrointestinal tract (esophagealdysmotility, GERD), kidneys (scleroderma renal crisis), andheart (arrhythmias, heart failure).Rarely, systemic sclerosis can present with signs of retinalvascular occlusion and cotton wool spots in the eyes. Thefollowing case report describes a patient presenting with cottonwool spots as an early manifestation of systemic sclerosis.

Radiation recall dermatitis (RRD) is an inflammatory skin reaction that develops in a previously quiescent radiation field triggered most commonly by chemotherapy, particularly anthracyclines and taxanes. Radiation-recall dermatitis secondary to antibiotic therapy is quite rare. The patient is 61-year-old female with a history of squamous cell carcinoma of the left breast treated with neoadjuvant carboplatin, paclitaxel, and anthracycline chemotherapy followed by surgery and subsequent whole breast radiation 6040 cGy. Eight years after completion of her radiation she developed diffuse redness of the left breast after two doses of nitrofurantoin taken for a urinary tract infection. Studies have suggested there is a shortage of pediatric dermatologists in the United States, but the workforce has not been well defined. The Society for Pediatric Dermatology (SPD) Workforce Committee sought to characterize the US pediatric dermatology workforce with a nine-question survey, sent to all 484 US SPD members in December 2016. The response rate was 30%. Most pediatric dermatologists were practicing in major metropolitan markets, seeing an average of 80 patients a week with an average 6-week wait time. These findings indicate that geographic maldistribution and long wait times for new patient appointments remain substantial hurdles for adequate access …
