Pleated Plasma Membrane Complex In Spermatids Of The Western Siren, Siren Nettingi (Caudata: Sirenidae), S.E. Trauth

I investigated the pleated plasma membrane complex of linear folds and biflagellar entities in developing spermatids of the Western Siren, Siren nettingi. My primary goal was to reveal the ultrastructural morphology of these distinctive cellular folds (usually 8 in number) as they support the flagellar formation of biflagellated sperm found in this salamander and in other members in the family Sirenidae. My results reveal that the biflagellar components (2 sets of axonemes, undulating membranes, and axial fibers), termed biflagellar complex, develop between folds or are attached onto these folds. Given the prevalence of screentime, its impact on child development has become a question of key concern for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, as well as parents. Recent attention has focused specifically on the potential negative effects of screentime on young children’s development of self-regulatory capacities. These negative effects of screentime could be particularly detrimental for children in poverty, who face stressors and forms of environmental adversity that can compromise self-regulatory development. This qualitative study examines the influence of politicized consumerism on individual social identity through a social psychological perspective. Drawing from Tajfel and Turner’s Social Identity Model (1979) and Cross’s model of Black Identity (1991), we explored politicized consumption as a form of identity through the voices of consumers. Using thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006), we analyzed thirty-seven survey respondents’ descriptions of their types of politicized consumption choices, factors contributing to their “awakening” to consumer politicization, the integration of these choices into their identity, and whether they viewed politicized consumption as a mechanism for social change. Purpose: Body dysmorphia (BDD) has been shown to possibly result from multiple environmental factors. However, the exact mechanism by which these environmental factors play a role has yet to be examined. The purpose of the current study is to examine the relationship between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and body dysmorphia symptoms through maladaptive thought control as a mediator.

This article studies the relationship between renewable energy stocks’ performance and climate risk. It shows that publicly held renewable energy stocks underperform as a reaction to climate policy information releases, modeled by feed-in tariff (FIT) legislation announcements. The study examined stock price behaviors 2 days before and 30 days after FIT policy announcements. The stock sample used in the study has 3702 firm-day combinations, which included 180 cleantech firms and 32 events from 2007 to 2017. Based on the residual analysis of the sample’s abnormal return, it indicated that the FIT announcements are associated with significant declines in returns. The …

This paper contributes to the literature by deriving upper and lower bounds on the fuel consumption in container shipping. The bounds are derived from sailing distances, port times, and the possible arrival times at ports/ the berth windows negotiated between the ocean carrier and the port operators. Crucially, the derived bounds can be used in conjunction with any of the common fuel consumption functions proposed in the literature. This latter is especially important since currently there is no consensus on a specific functional form for the fuel consumption function. The behavior of the bounds will be illustrated with numerical examples.

An examination of innate behavior and its possible origins suggests parallels with the formation of habitual behavior. Inflexible but adaptive responses-innate reflexive behavior, Pavlovian conditioned responses, and operant habits-may have evolved from variable behavior in phylogeny and ontogeny. This form of "plasticity-first" scientific narrative was unpopular post-Darwin but has recently gained credibility in evolutionary biology. The present article seeks to identify originating events and contingencies contributing to such inflexible but adaptive behavior at both phylogenic and ontogenic levels of selection. Students with math anxiety experience low self-efficacy and high levels of distress when asked to approach math tasks and concepts, which often results in poor course performance. Despite the wealth of research on this construct, relatively little is known about how math anxiety impacts math achievement in college-aged students or what types of classroom-based processes might buffer against this harmful effect. The interdisciplinary nature of digital history presents challenges in retrieving and evaluating publications within scholarly communities. This research investigates the impact of classification on the evaluation of digital history research, collaboration patterns, and barriers to interdisciplinary collaboration. The study employs a scoping review of 109 publications from academic online databases and interviews with fifteen experts from eleven countries. Findings reveal that digital history can be identified within the academic landscape through distinct characteristics of scholarly communication, including publication venues, researcher affiliations, natural and controlled vocabularies, information-seeking behaviors, and publication practices. ใบอนุญาตทางศีลธรรม (Moral licensing) เป็นหนึ่งในอคติทางความคิด (Cognitive Bias) ที่แสดงให้เห็นถึง แนวโน้มที่ผู้คนเต็มใจทำผิดศีลธรรมมากขึ้น หลังจากทำสิ่งที่ถูกศีลธรรม อคติดังกล่าวถูกสร้างได้จากหลายปัจจัยหนึ่งในนั้นคือ “ความชัดเจนในการเก็บภาษีสิ่งแวดล้อมจากสินค้า” หรือ กระบวนการเก็บแบบภาษีโดดเด่น (Tax Salience) ซึ่งทำให้ผู้บริโภครับรู้ว่าตนได้มีส่วนร่วมในการลดผลกระทบทางสิ่งแวดล้อมผ่านการจ่ายภาษี ราวกับว่าเขาได้ทำความดีไปแล้ว โดยงานวิจัยนี้ศึกษาผลของ ใบอนุญาตทางศีลธรรม ที่ถูกสร้างจากการเก็บภาษีที่มีความชัดเจน ผ่านการบริจาคทางสิ่งแวดล้อม รวมถึง การแสดงการรับรู้การลงทุนของรัฐบาลเพื่อลดทอนผลในข้างต้น, การเปรียบเทียบผลในการชดเชยทางศีลธรรม (Moral Cleansing) ซึ่งเป็นผลในทางตรงกันข้าม กับใบอนุญาตทางศีลธรรม โดยใช้การปฏิบัติการในห้องทดลองทางเศรษฐศาสตร์ (Laboratory Experiment) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ผลของใบอนุญาตทางศีลธรรม และ การชดเชยทางศีลธรรม มีความสัมพันธ์ในด้านลบ และ ด้านบวก ต่อการบริจาคทางสิ่งแวดล้อมตามลำดับ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ โดยผลทั้งสองมีขนาดผลที่ไม่สมมาตร ทั้งนี้ยังไม่พบผลของการรับรู้การลงทุนของรัฐบาลอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ข้อค้นพบล้วนชี้ให้เห็นว่า กระบวนการจัดเก็บภาษีที่มีความชัดเจน สามารถส่งผลกระทบต่อพฤติกรรมของผู้บริโภคในลักษณะที่ไม่สอดคล้องกับแนวคิดการตัดสินใจอย่างสมเหตุสมผล (Rational Thinking) และ ดังนั้น การออกแบบนโยบายภาษี โดยเฉพาะภาษีสิ่งแวดล้อม จึงควรคำนึงถึงผลกระทบทางพฤติกรรมที่ไม่สมเหตุสมผลที่อาจตามมา

ในปัจจุบันหลายประเทศได้ให้ความสำคัญ และตระหนักถึงผลกระทบจากการดำเนินธุรกิจและกิจกรรมทางเศรษฐกิจที่ส่งผลต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมและสังคมเพิ่มมากขึ้น ซึ่งทำให้เกิดการพัฒนาเพื่อให้เกิดความยั่งยืนในระบบเศรษฐกิจ โดยการศึกษาครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบของการดำเนินงานด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม สังคม หรือธรรมาภิบาล (ESG) ต่อการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาคเอเชียทั้งหมด 26 ประเทศ ในปีพ.ศ. 2543 ถึงปีพ.ศ. 2563 โดยนำข้อมูลทุติยภูมิในมิติแต่ละด้านมาจัดทำเป็นดัชนี ESG ผ่านการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบหลัก (Principal Component Analysis) และใช้การประมาณการด้วย System Generalized Method of Moments เพื่อหาผลกระทบของการดำเนินงานด้าน ESG ต่อการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ ซึ่งพบว่าการดำเนินงานด้าน ESG ที่เพิ่มมากขึ้นส่งผลทำให้การเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจลดลงเล็กน้อยสำหรับประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชีย และผลกระทบของการดำเนินงานในแต่ละด้านของ ESG ยังส่งผลลบต่อการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจเช่นกัน ทั้งนี้ สาเหตุอาจเกิดจากต้นทุนการดำเนินงานที่สูงในช่วงแรกเริ่ม ในขณะที่ผลดีต่อการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจต้องใช้เวลาในการเห็นผล ดังนั้น ผู้ที่รับผิดชอบหรือมีส่วนร่วมในการกำหนดนโยบายควรมีแนวทางความช่วยเหลือทั้งด้านการเงิน และอื่นๆให้แก่ภาคธุรกิจหรือภาคส่วนอื่นๆที่ดำเนินงานด้าน ESG เพื่อช่วยให้สามารถพัฒนาและดำเนินงานตามหลัก ESG ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากลยุทธ์การสร้างและสื่อสารตราสินค้าบุคคล ของนักดนตรีกลางคืนเพื่อการต่อยอดทางอาชีพ โดยใช้วิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพผ่านการสนทนากลุ่มกับนักดนตรี 10 คน ที่แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มนักดนตรีในผับที่เป็นผู้ทรงอิทธิพลระดับไมโครอินฟลูเอ็นเซอร์ และ ผู้ทรงอิทธิพลระดับมาโครอินฟลูเอ็นเซอร์ บนช่องทางแอปพลิเคชันติ๊กต๊อก ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กลุ่มผู้ทรงอิทธิพลระดับไมโครอินฟลูเอ็นเซอร์ สร้างแบรนด์ผ่าน ความเป็นมืออาชีพและทักษะการแสดงสดที่โดดเด่น ขณะที่กลุ่มผู้ทรงอิทธิพลระดับ มาโครอินฟลูเอ็นเซอร์ เน้นภาพลักษณ์ที่เข้าถึงง่ายและจริงใจโดยใช้ชื่อเสียงเดิมเป็นฐาน ทั้งสองกลุ่มใช้กลยุทธ์ผสมผสานระหว่างออนไลน์และออฟไลน์ โดยใช้ช่องทางแอปพลิเคชันติ๊กต๊อก เป็นช่องทางหลักในการสร้างการรับรู้เพื่อนำไปสู่การจ้างงาน มากกว่าสร้างรายได้โดยตรง การสร้างตราสินค้าบุคคลที่แข็งแกร่งจึงเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญในการต่อยอดอาชีพของนักดนตรีกลางคืน ในยุคดิจิทัล ซึ่งต้องอาศัยการสื่อสารเชิงกลยุทธ์ควบคู่ไปกับความสามารถทางดนตรี

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ศึกษาบทบาทที่มิใช่การรบของกองทัพเรือไทย โดยเฉพาะในด้านการช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมและการบรรเทาสาธารณภัย ซึ่งมีความสำคัญเพิ่มมากขึ้นในบริบทของภัยคุกคามรูปแบบใหม่ เช่น ภัยธรรมชาติ ความมั่นคงด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม และความมั่นคงมนุษย์ การศึกษานี้มุ่งวิเคราะห์ยุทธศาสตร์ กลไกการจัดการ และบทบาทของกองทัพเรือผ่านกรอบแนวคิดทฤษฎีสถาบันเสรีนิยมใหม่ (Neoliberal Institutionalism) ที่เน้นความร่วมมือระหว่างรัฐและบทบาทของสถาบันระหว่างประเทศในการสร้างระเบียบและข้อตกลงร่วม งานวิจัยใช้ระเบียบวิธีเชิงคุณภาพผ่านการศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสารและแหล่งข้อมูลต่างประเทศและในประเทศ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กองทัพเรือไทยได้พัฒนากลไกการจัดการ เช่น ศูนย์บรรเทาสาธารณภัยกองทัพเรือ และเข้าร่วมการฝึกร่วมระดับภูมิภาคและระดับโลก เช่น การฝึก Cobra Gold, Blue Strike และ Pacific Partnership ตลอดจนมีการส่งกำลังช่วยเหลือในเหตุการณ์สำคัญทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ เช่น สึนามิปี พ.ศ.2547 และภารกิจในประเทศอินโดนีเซีย การศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่ากองทัพเรือไทยไม่เพียงแต่ตอบสนองต่อภารกิจความมั่นคงในรูปแบบดั้งเดิมเท่านั้น แต่ยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในความมั่นคงยุคใหม่ ที่เน้นความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาคและสากล เพื่อรองรับภัยคุกคามที่ซับซ้อนและขยายตัวมากขึ้น

หัวข้อวิจัยนี้มีเป้าหมายเพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบของนโยบายฟรีวีซ่าต่อความมั่นคงของประเทศไทย โดยมุ่งเน้นที่ความเสี่ยงเชิงความมั่นคงที่เกิดขึ้นควบคู่กับความพยายามในการฟื้นฟูเศรษฐกิจผ่านการท่องเที่ยว ในปี พ.ศ.2557 จนถึงปัจจุบันที่ประเทศไทยดำเนินนโยบายฟรีวีซ่ากับหลายประเทศเพื่อดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยว การศึกษานี้เริ่มต้นจากการสำรวจพัฒนาการของนโยบายส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวตั้งแต่แคมเปญ Amazing Thailand จนถึงนโยบายฟรีวีซ่าล่าสุด โดยมุ่งวิเคราะห์ความท้าทายในการสร้างสมดุลระหว่างการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจกับการรักษาความมั่นคงของรัฐพร้อมทั้งเปรียบเทียบกับกรณีศึกษาจากต่างประเทศ เช่น สหรัฐอเมริกา ที่เคยประสบปัญหาความมั่นคงจากการเปิดพรมแดนแบบไร้เงื่อนไขจากการศึกษา พบว่าแม้การใช้ฟรีวีซ่าจะช่วยเพิ่มจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวและสร้างรายได้ในระยะสั้น แต่หากไม่มีโครงสร้างรองรับที่เพียงพอ เช่น ระบบประเมินความเสี่ยงล่วงหน้า ฐานข้อมูลร่วม หรือกลไกติดตามหลังการเข้าเมือง ก็อาจกลายเป็นช่องว่างที่เปิดโอกาสให้เกิดอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติการประกอบธุรกิจผิดกฎหมาย การใช้วีซ่าผิดประเภท หรือการตั้งถิ่นฐานแบบผิดกฎ ซึ่งล้วนเป็นความท้าทายใหม่ในมิติความมั่นคง ผลการวิจัยชี้ว่า ปัญหาหลักไม่ได้อยู่ที่ตัวนโยบายฟรีวีซ่า แต่เกิดจากความไม่สอดคล้องกันของหน่วยงานภาครัฐและข้อจำกัดด้านศักยภาพของกลไกสนับสนุนภายในประเทศ ดังนั้น แนวทางที่เหมาะสมคือการพัฒนาเครื่องมือเชิงนโยบาย เช่น ระบบข้อมูลร่วม ระบบติดตามที่มีประสิทธิภาพ และการวัดคุณภาพนักท่องเที่ยวควบคู่ไปกับการสร้างความร่วมมือกับประเทศต้นทาง เพื่อลดความเสี่ยงและเสริมความยั่งยืนให้นโยบายฟรีวีซ่าในบริบทของประเทศไทย

This quasi-experimental study investigated the effect of a table-top roleplaying game (ttrpg), specifically Dungeons and Dragons™ (D&D), on increasing feelings of social connection, decreasing perceived stress, increasing self-esteem and improving adjustment to college among first semester, first year students. participants signed up to either the D&D group or the comparison group. D&D participants (n = 18) attended five one-hour weekly D&D sessions, meanwhile the comparison group (n = 10) went through their first semester of college with no intervention, but completed the study measures at the same points in time as the D&D participants. An Intersectional Analysis Of Findings From Humboldt County: The California Cannabis Worker And Equity Survey, Jennifer A. Smith

This study explores how intersectional axes of identity, particularly gender and race, shape the experiences of precarity and resistance among cannabis workers in Humboldt County amid the industry's ongoing transition to legalization. Drawing on survey data from a diverse sample of 58 cannabis workers, the analysis revealed complex dimensions of precarity, including structural, physical, socioemotional, and material issues. Findings indicate that BIPOC workers, particularly men, face heightened structural precarity compared to their white counterparts, while the intersection of race and gender exacerbated vulnerabilities for BIPOC women and beyond binary individuals.
