Parental incarceration has a significant impact on children’s and adolescents’ lives, including emotional and mental well-being, which can carry to their adulthood. Although parental incarceration has been researched, the lived experiences and mental health needs of Latino children and adolescents of incarcerated parents have not been explored. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to understand the recollections of young Latino adults about their lived experiences and mental health needs as children and adolescents with incarcerated parents. In September 2024, U.S. employment rose by 254,000, with the unemployment rate holding steady at 4.1%. Veterans experienced notable improvements, with overall unemployment dropping to 2.7% from 3.5% in August, and specific age and demographic groups seeing varying trends—such as a decrease in unemployment for younger veterans and a significant drop for female veterans. While some subgroups, like Hispanic veterans, had higher unemployment rates than their nonveteran peers, Black veterans saw lower unemployment than their counterparts.

This scoping review aimed to synthesise the literature concerning the stigma experiences of men with eating disorders. Seven databases were searched using relevant keywords and subject headings. Following deduplication, articles published since 2000 were screened against eligibility criteria. Key information was charted and analysed using descriptive statistics and deductive content analysis. The final sample (n=9) was synthesised under four categories of stigma experiences within the Health Stigma and Discrimination Framework. Internalised stigma was the most prevalent stigma experience across the included studies. In the wake of parental incarceration, remains the plight of children who are hidden and seldom appreciated victims. In this article, findings of a novel study into key dimensions of the impact of parental incarceration on children will be presented, including socioemotional and behavioral harm, and disenfranchised grief. The study employed a critical literature method which applied in-depth thematic analysis to a sample of twenty peer-reviewed international publications. Using a content analysis of all published Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) of Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) accredited programs, the current study analyzes SLOs to assess the most frequently used measurable verbs (utilizing a revised version of Blooms’ Taxonomy) and transferable skills (utilizing the definitions provided by AAC&U’s VALUE Outcomes and their corresponding rubrics) emphasized by accredited programs. The current study aimed to identify if there was a relationship between cross-ethnic racial identity and cognitive empathy for others and whether social and personal identities mediated this effect. Self-categorization theory was used as the theoretical framework. In this study, it was hypothesized that cross-ethnic racial identity significantly predicts empathic accuracy, and that social and personal identities mediate this relationship. A non-experimental, researcher-designed survey was used to collect participant data and demographic characteristics. The confluence of two devastating circumstances—the COVID-19 pandemic and the crowded, insalubrious living conditions in American jails as a result of mass incarceration, brought about an epidemic of an unprecedented magnitude. The large jail population, highly susceptible to infections due to overcrowded conditions, experienced exponential spread of the virus. While earlier research examined unhealthy situations related to the prison environment and their effects on inmates, the focus of such studies was not typically major crises or disease outbreaks in prisons. Yeutter Institute International Trade Policy Review

We use an advanced model of the global economy to consider a set of scenarios consistent with the proposal to impose a minimum 60% tariff against Chinese imports and blanket minimum 10% tariff against all other US imports. The model’s structure, which includes imperfect competition in increasing-returns industries, is documented in Balistreri, Böhringer, and Rutherford (2024). The basis for the tariff rates is a proposal from former President Donald Trump (see Wolff 2024). We consider these scenarios with and without symmetric retaliation by our trade partners.
