This study explored Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans (LGBT) employees’ perceptions and assessments of their firms’ organizational cultures and, in particular, the opportunities within the culture that can lead to upper management positions for those who identify as LGBT. The research sought to understand the extent to which inclusivity efforts are reflected in real career progression opportunities for openly LGBT employees working in San Diego County. In Indonesia, most cases of violence against women occur as domestic and dating violence, that is, intimate partner violence or IPV. Such cases report relatively more prevalent, severe posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS), but studies on protective factors are limited. Therefore, this study examined whether forgiveness and perceived social support among young women who have experienced IPV by former partners negatively predicted PTSS. We used the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist-5, the Heartland Forgiveness Scale, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. Research has consistently demonstrated the presence and severity of racial health disparities in the U.S., particularly for Black Americans. Many of the root causes of these disparities are complex and are associated with various forms of structural discrimination. This study examines the health experiences of veterans of color, particularly their interactions in the VA and Military Health system to better understand racial/ethnic disparities across disease burden, mortality, and indicators of patient healthcare experiences. This mixed-methods study included an online survey (n=219) and virtual focus groups and one-on-one interviews (n=17). This dissertation explores the dynamics between parenting practices, family structure, community violence exposure, and adolescent development through three interrelated studies. Collectively, these papers address how family environments shape adolescent experiences and outcomes, including alcohol use disorder (AUD). Using data from the Add Health study, this dissertation offers insights for researchers and clinicians supporting youth in vulnerable contexts. Chapter 1 examines the influence of average perceived communication and involvement, as well as differences in these behaviors between parents, on adolescent community violence exposure. This study aims to identify and analyze the marketing strategies implemented by the Trisakti School of Management (TSM) Library to enhance service quality and user satisfaction. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a case study method, the research offers in-depth insights through field observations, interviews with library staff, and document analysis. The findings reveal that TSM Library excels in high-quality imported book collections, comprehensive digital resources, and strategically located services. This commentary examines the potential of tests of judgment bias to assess fish welfare in aquariums and zoos. Judgment bias offers a non-invasive approach to interpreting affective states in animals, using cognitive responses to ambiguous stimuli as indicators of mental wellbeing. Despite the constraints of captive environments—such as limited handling and species diversity in exhibits—recent adaptations of judgment-bias protocols make them suitable across taxa, including fishes. Collaborations with progressive zoos and aquariums could facilitate this research, based on the shared goal of enhancing animal welfare and promoting public education.

This study aims to understand supervisors' perceptions of the effectiveness of Geotab as a control measure for mitigating the risk of collisions involving light vehicles. Conducted in Division X of PT. X, a mining industry, from February to June 2023, this descriptive, semi-qualitative study collected data through control effectiveness questionnaires, interviews, and document review. The variables studied include the relevance, coverage, reliability, reactivity, resource competence, and supervision system of Geotab. The present thesis explores the intensification strategies employed by bilingual Spanish-English speakers in Southern Arizona, focusing on six distinct devices: lexical, phrasal, repetition, reformulation, hyperbole, and code-switching. While previous research has largely centered on adverbial and lexical intensifiers in monolingual contexts, this study broadens the scope by examining how bilingual speakers leverage their unique linguistic repertoire to amplify their speech. Using a sociopragmatic framework, the analysis reveals a marked preference for lexical intensification, which accounts for more than half of the recorded instances, with phrasal intensification and repetition following closely. Diet quality significantly influences health outcomes, with socio-demographic factors playing a crucial role in shaping dietary behaviors. This study aims to investigate the dietary behaviors and socio-demographic characteristics of Utah residents, highlighting disparities in diet quality and the underlying factors contributing to these differences. Using a sample of 1,522 adults, data on socio-demographic characteristics, diet quality, and food expenditure were collected via an online survey in April and May 2023. The modified Rapid Eating Assessment for Participants-Shortened Version (REAP-S) was used to assess diet quality. Results indicate that respondents spent about 30% of their monthly income on food, reflecting a …

The study presents an in-depth analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on Ghana’s gross domestic product (GDP), balance of payments and international investment position (BPM6), and inflation (INFL). Employing a pre-and post-COVID-19 comparison (2017-2022) through repeated measures ANOVA and tests of between-subject effects, it investigates whether the government’s economic performance was significantly impacted. Key findings show a notable decrease in GDP and BPM6, alongside a major increase in inflation rates post-pandemic. The study concludes that the COVID-19 pandemic had a statistically significant impact on Ghana’s economic performance in terms of GDP and BPM6, but not inflation. Some small and medium-sized U.S.-based shippers lack effective strategies to address the risk of cargo shipment abandonments.
