Purpose

The objective of this multi-group study is to examine the influence of service quality and convenience on customer satisfaction in quick service restaurants (QSRs) versus gas stations.

Design/methodology/approach

Data were collected online from 552 participants in the USA and analyzed using partial least square structure equation modeling (SmartPLS).

Findings

Service quality and convenience are strong predictors of customer satisfaction in both QSR restaurants and gas station food outlets. In addition, this study concluded significant differences between QSRs and gas stations in terms of these relations.

This study investigates the factors influencing the adoption of peer-to-peer (P2P) accommodation services among Indian tourists, integrating Behavioral Reasoning Theory (BRT), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Data were collected from 526 tourists using self-administered online and paper-based surveys. The findings reveal that modern lifestyles significantly enhance perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, which positively influence behavioral intentions toward P2P accommodations. Psychological ownership emerged as a critical factor, indicating that emotional attachment to the accommodation enhances user engagement and satisfaction. Interestingly, privacy concerns did not significantly impact behavioral intentions or perceived usefulness but did influence …

Background

Despite efforts to prevent errors, studies show that iatrogenic, or health care-related, errors continue to occur. Understandably, these errors, which can range in severity from near-misses to serious harm, can be devastating for the health care professionals involved, creating a potential second set of victims, in addition to the patient(s) that were harmed directly. Studies show that individuals struggling with second-victim syndrome (SVS) can be at increased risk for depression, burnout, and poor work performance. However, programs designed to develop peer mentors to support individuals struggling with SVS are poorly described.

The Republic of Korea (or South Korea) is located in the extreme northeastern region of the East Asian Monsoon climatic zone. Summer (June–September) is the rainy season in the country, which accounts for more than 60 percent of the annual precipitation. Using 50 years of summer (June–September) rainfall data (1951–2000) at 23 stations, this paper presents the geographic distribution of summer rainfall and its coefficient of variation in South Korea; and the long-term trend of summer rainfall at four selected stations. The study of retail geography is moving beyond an orthodox, spatial science tradition to include a consideration of the cultural and symbolic dimensions of retailing and consumption. This paper contributes to this emerging literature by exploring the cultural politics of retail change. The Platte Purchase region did not become part of the state of Missouri until 1837. Prior to its annexation the area had been part of the territory reserved for Native American relocation. By 1850, the region had attracted over 40,000 pioneers from all areas of the globe. The majority of the early settlers followed the major river routes as they migrated west to the Platte region. The census data indicates that upon arrival many of these early pioneers clustered with other pioneers of similar heritage. As a result, there is a north-south settlement gradation present. The southern Levantine coast was settled continuously for three millennia, from the Neolithic period until its abandonment in Early Bronze Age II, in sharp contrast to inland sites that developed into urbanized cities. This study examines this phenomenon by investigating the pottery production component of the economic systems of two contemporary EB I villages: a shoreline coastal site that was abandoned (Dor South) and an inland site that evolved into an urban center (‘En Esur). This pilot ceramic petrography examination shows two distinct strategies, with ‘En Esur producing pottery primarily from local raw materials and Dor South relying mainly on …

These disruptions exacerbated existing socio-economic inequities, leading to heightened food insecurity.
