This study sought to understand the mental health of Korean-American elderly immigrants using the theoretical frameworks Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development and Interpersonal Psychotherapy Theory (IPT). To achieve this purpose, this study incorporated a qualitative thematic analysis and conducted in-depth interviews with 10 elderly Korean immigrants living in the United States. From these interviews, eight themes were identified: (a) multifaceted immigration experiences, (b) immigration challenges, (c) complex language barriers, (d) personality constructs impacting experience, (e) the importance of relationships, (f) limited information and access to support, (g) life satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and (h) advice for future immigrants. This explanatory qualitative case study applied the Advocacy Coalition Framework (ACF) to study Detroit’s local food policy changes from 2000 to 2022. The research question and sub-questions were framed using three ACF hypotheses that addressed advocacy coalitions, collective action, and policy change. My research showed how actors in the policy subsystem worked to promote policy change during the study period. Using this Advocacy Coalition Framework approach, I explored local food policy change in the context of community resilience and system changes. การย้ายถิ่นภายในประเทศไทยมากกว่าร้อยละ 10 มีจุดหมายปลายทางไปสู่กรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งส่งผลสำคัญต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงพลวัตของประชากรเมืองอย่างรวดเร็ว อย่างไรก็ตาม ระบบทะเบียนราษฎรไม่สามารถสะท้อนการเคลื่อนย้ายดังกล่าวได้อย่างทันท่วงที กล่าวคือ จำนวนประชากรที่อาศัยอยู่จริงมีสูงกว่าจำนวนประชากรตามทะเบียนราษฎรอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ จึงนำไปสู่การเกิดขึ้นของกลุ่ม "ประชากรแฝง" ที่ยังไม่ได้จดทะเบียนในพื้นที่ ซึ่งย่อมส่งผลให้การจัดสรรทรัพยากรและการบริหารจัดการเมืองไม่สอดคล้องกับความเป็นจริง งานวิจัยฉบับนี้แบ่งการศึกษาเป็นสองส่วน สำหรับส่วนแรก เพื่อทำความเข้าใจลักษณะและรูปแบบเชิงพื้นที่ของการย้ายถิ่นเข้าสู่กรุงเทพมหานคร ผู้วิจัยวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากสำมะโนประชากรและเคหะ พ.ศ. 2533 2543 และ 2553 ด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา อีกทั้งยังมีการผนวกข้อมูลการใช้ประโยชน์ที่ดินและข้อมูลรายรับจากภาษี เพื่อทดสอบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยเชิงพื้นที่กับการย้ายถิ่นเข้าสู่พื้นที่ด้วยการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุ โดยผลการศึกษาพบว่า จำนวนผู้ย้ายถิ่นเข้าสู่กรุงเทพมหานครมีเปลี่ยนแปลงตามช่วงเวลา โดยมีการลดลงใน พ.ศ. 2543 และกลับมาเพิ่มขึ้นใน พ.ศ. 2553 นอกจากนี้ ยังพบการเปลี่ยนแปลงรูปแบบการกระจายตัวของผู้ย้ายถิ่น โดยใน พ.ศ. 2533 มีการกระจุกตัวในเขตกรุงเทพฯ ชั้นใน แต่หลังจากนั้นขยายตัวออกสู่เขตกรุงเทพฯ ชั้นนอกอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเพิ่มขึ้นจาก 1.02 แสนคน เป็น 2.07 แสนคน ในช่วงระยะ 20 ปี ทั้งนี้ผลการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุชี้ให้เห็นว่า ความหนาแน่นของประชากร รูปแบบการใช้ประโยชน์ที่ดิน และรายได้จากภาษีท้องถิ่น ล้วนเป็นปัจจัยเชิงพื้นที่ที่มีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกสำหรับผู้ย้ายถิ่นที่ระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติร้อยละ 5 ขณะที่สัดส่วนวัยแรงงานมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงลบที่ระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติร้อยละ 10 สำหรับการศึกษาส่วนที่สอง ซึ่งเป็นการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยกำหนดความตั้งใจอยู่ต่อของประชากรแฝง โดยใช้ข้อมูลระดับบุคคลจากการสำรวจการย้ายถิ่น พ.ศ. 2557-2564 ผ่านแบบจำลองสมการโครงสร้าง (Structural Equation Modeling: SEM) พบว่า แบบจำลองสำหรับประชากรแฝงที่พำนักอยู่ในกรุงเทพมหานครมากกว่าหนึ่งปี มีความสอดคล้องกับข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์ในเกณฑ์ดี (RMSEA = 0.04, RMR = 0.06, CFI = 0.96) โดยปัจจัยด้านเศรษฐกิจมีอิทธิพลโดยตรงสูงสุดต่อความตั้งใจอยู่ต่อของประชากรแฝง (β = 0.30) ในขณะที่ปัจจัยด้านประชากรมีอิทธิพลทางอ้อมผ่านระยะเวลาการพำนักในระดับต่ำกว่า (β = 0.08) ซึ่งผลลัพธ์นี้สอดคล้องกับกลุ่มประชากรแฝงที่พำนักไม่เกินหนึ่งปี จึงอาจกล่าวได้ว่า โอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจเป็นกลไกหลักในการกำหนดการตัดสินใจตั้งถิ่นฐานของประชากรแฝง โดยสรุปแล้ว การศึกษานี้ชี้ให้เห็นว่า การย้ายถิ่นเข้าสู่กรุงเทพมหานครได้รับอิทธิพลจากปัจจัยเชิงพื้นที่ ในขณะที่ความตั้งใจอยู่ต่อของประชากรแฝงถูกกำหนดโดยปัจจัยทางเศรษฐกิจในระดับบุคคล ซึ่งถือเป็นหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ที่ชี้ให้เห็นถึงความจำเป็นในการกำหนดนโยบายบริหารจัดการเมืองที่สอดคล้องกับบริบทพื้นที่ โดยการบูรณาการการวางผังเมือง นโยบายตลาดแรงงาน และการปรับปรุงระบบทะเบียนราษฎร เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิผลในการบริหารจัดการประชากรเมืองในระยะยาว

การศึกษาพลวัตทางสถานะสุขภาพของประชากรสูงอายุมีความสำคัญต่อการเตรียมความพร้อมระบบสาธารณสุขในอนาคต โดยปกติการวิเคราะห์มักใช้แบบจำลองหลายสถานะ (multi-state model) ผ่านข้อมูลการติดตามระยะยาว (longitudinal data) อย่างไรก็ตาม ด้วยสภาพความจำกัดของข้อมูลประเภทดังกล่าวในประเทศไทย งานศึกษาฉบับนี้จึงได้พัฒนาแบบจำลองหลายสถานะรูปแบบมาร์คอฟ (Markov) โดยประยุกต์ใช้ข้อมูลภาคตัดขวาง จากการสำรวจประชากรสูงอายุในประเทศไทยสองรอบล่าสุด คือ พ.ศ. 2564 และ 2567 เพื่อประมาณค่าความน่าจะเป็นของการเปลี่ยนสถานะทางสุขภาพ ระหว่างสถานะอิสระ พึ่งพิง และการตาย ในช่วง 3 ปี รวมทั้ง เพื่อคาดประมาณประชากรจำแนกตามสถานะทางสุขภาพ จนถึง พ.ศ. 2579 และประเมินความเป็นไปได้ในการบรรลุเป้าหมาย เรื่องอัตราส่วนประชากรสถานะอิสระต่อประชากรสถานะพึ่งพิง ตามแผนยุทธศาสตร์ชาติระยะ 20 ปี ด้านสาธารณสุข ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ความน่าจะเป็นของการคงอยู่ในสถานะอิสระ และการคงอยู่ในสถานะพึ่งพิง จะมีแนวโน้มลดลงเมื่ออายุเพิ่มขึ้น ในขณะที่ความน่าจะเป็นของการเปลี่ยนสถานะจากอิสระเป็นพึ่งพิงกลับมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับธรรมชาติของการเสื่อมถอยทางสุขภาพ และการเพิ่มขึ้นของความเสี่ยงในการเสียชีวิต ซึ่งสะท้อนผ่านแนวโน้มของความน่าจะเป็นในการเสียชีวิต ทั้งจากสถานะอิสระและสถานะพึ่งพิง ที่สูงขึ้นตามอายุ โดยในเชิงทฤษฎี ผลการศึกษายืนยันการดำรงอยู่ของปรากฏการณ์ความย้อนแย้งระหว่างการเจ็บป่วยและการเสียชีวิต (morbidity–mortality paradox) กล่าวคือ ประชากรเพศชายมีความน่าจะเป็นของการเสียชีวิตจากสถานะอิสระสูง แต่มีความน่าจะเป็นของการเข้าสู่สถานะพึ่งพิงต่ำ ในขณะที่ประชากรเพศหญิงแม้จะมีแนวโน้มอายุยืนยาวมากกว่า แต่ต้องใช้ชีวิตร่วมกับสถานะพึ่งพิงเป็นระยะเวลานาน นอกจากนี้ สำหรับการประเมินความเป็นไปได้ของอัตราส่วนเป้าหมาย ที่คำนวณจากประชากรคาดประมาณ พ.ศ. 2579 การศึกษาพบว่า อัตราส่วนภาพรวมทุกกลุ่มอายุที่คำนวณได้สูงกว่าเกณฑ์เป้าหมายเป็นอย่างมาก โดยเฉพาะเพศชาย อย่างไรก็ตาม ค่าที่สูงนี้อาจไม่ได้สะท้อนว่าประชากรจะมีสุขภาพดีอย่างแท้จริง เนื่องจากเป็นผลกระทบจากอัตราการเสียชีวิตที่สูง จึงส่งผลให้ตัวหารของอัตราส่วนมีค่าน้อย อีกทั้งเมื่อวิเคราะห์รายกลุ่มอายุกลับพบว่า ประชากรเพศหญิงที่มีอายุ 81 ปีขึ้นไป มีอัตราส่วนต่ำกว่าเกณฑ์เป้าหมาย ผลการศึกษานี้จึงชี้ให้เห็นถึงความสำคัญของการพิจารณารายละเอียดของประชากรอย่างถี่ถ้วน เพื่อค้นหากลุ่มประชากรที่เปราะบางทางสุขภาพ และนำไปสู่การพัฒนานโยบายสาธารณสุขที่เฉพาะเจาะจงสำหรับแต่ละกลุ่มประชากรอย่างแท้จริง

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) วิเคราะห์แนวโน้มโครงสร้างทางประชากร ทุนมนุษย์ และความเหลื่อมล้ำทางรายได้ที่มีต่อการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจทั่วโลกในช่วงปี ค.ศ. 1960–2020 (2) เปรียบเทียบผลกระทบของปัจจัยดังกล่าวในกลุ่มประเทศที่จำแนกตามสถานะการเข้าสู่สังคมสูงอายุ ณ ปี ค.ศ. 2020 และ (3) เสนอแนะแนวทางเชิงนโยบายเพื่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจอย่างยั่งยืนภายใต้บริบทสังคมสูงวัย โดยใช้ข้อมูลพาเนลแบบไม่สมดุล (Unbalanced panel data) จาก 123 ประเทศ และวิเคราะห์ด้วยแบบจำลอง Fixed effects, Random effects และ Two-stage least squares (2SLS)ผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่า โครงสร้างอายุประชากรมีผลต่อการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจแตกต่างกันตามระดับการเข้าสู่สังคมสูงอายุ โดยในประเทศสังคมสูงอายุ ประชากรวัยแรงงานยังคงเป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนหลัก ในขณะที่การเพิ่มขึ้นของอายุคาดเฉลี่ยเมื่อแรกเกิดมีส่วนสนับสนุนการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ ซึ่งสะท้อนความสำคัญของนโยบายด้านสุขภาพ คุณภาพชีวิต และการส่งเสริมการทำงานในวัยสูงอายุ อันเอื้อต่อการบรรจบกันทางเศรษฐกิจ (Economic convergence) ในทางตรงกันข้าม ภาพรวมทั่วโลกและประเทศที่ยังไม่เข้าสู่สังคมสูงอายุกลับพบความสัมพันธ์เชิงลบ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการเพิ่มขึ้นของประชากรวัยพึ่งพิง (ประชากรวัยเด็กและวัยสูงอายุ) และการย้ายถิ่นที่ขาดการบูรณาการทักษะอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ซึ่งส่งผลให้เศรษฐกิจชะลอตัวนอกจากนี้ ทุนมนุษย์ที่วัดจากจำนวนปีการศึกษาเฉลี่ยเพียงอย่างเดียวไม่เพียงพอต่อการเติบโตในระยะยาว หากไม่พัฒนาทักษะให้สอดคล้องกับตลาดแรงงาน ในขณะที่การเปิดเสรีทางการค้ามีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการเติบโตและการบรรจบกันทางเศรษฐกิจในทุกกลุ่มประเทศ อย่างไรก็ดี การเพิ่มขึ้นของทุนต่อรายประชากรสะท้อนข้อจำกัดด้านประสิทธิภาพการใช้ทุนหรือผลตอบแทนส่วนเพิ่มที่ลดลง โดยภาพรวมชี้ให้เห็นว่า ประเทศรายได้น้อยยังมีศักยภาพในการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจได้ทันประเทศรายได้สูง ภายใต้การบริหารจัดการโครงสร้างประชากร การยกระดับคุณภาพทุนมนุษย์ และนโยบายเศรษฐกิจที่สอดรับกับบริบทสังคมสูงอายุ

This thesis examines how the traditional Karen governance institution of the Kaw sustains environmental conservation and community well-being in Kaw Thay Ghu, an Indigenous territory in Kawthoolei (Karen State, Myanmar). With the high prevalence of mental health issues, especially among college students, research on help-seeking behaviour is needed. This study aims to investigate the theory of planned behaviour, as well as social stigma and self-stigma as extended factors, in predicting help-seeking intention. Help-seeking intention was measured through the intention to use free-of-charge mental health services provided by the university. A sample of 105 undergraduates studying at Chulalongkorn University answered self-reported questions regarding help-seeking intention, attitude toward help-seeking, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control (PBC), self-stigma, social stigma, knowledge about mental health, knowledge about mental health services, and informal help-seeking. This research focuses on Chinese mothers accompanying their children to study in Thailand, exploring their life experiences, identity transformation, and social adaptation within this transnational educational migration phenomenon. A mixed research method (questionnaire survey and interviews) was employed, systematically analyzing data from 151 questionnaires and 13 interviewed mothers. Results show that these accompanying mothers generally possess high levels of education and economic capability, with most abandoning their original professions for their children's education, forming a transnational family structure of husband remaining in China, wife accompanying her child in Thailand. This poster, presented at the Medical Library Association (MLA) Annual Meeting, describes how Xavier University of Louisiana and Ochsner Health partnered to establish a new medical school, requiring library leaders to address LCME Standard 5.8 (Library Resources/Staff) within the data collection instrument and self-study for preliminary accreditation. A cross-institutional workgroup undertook a multi-method approach to building an evidence-based case for library planning, including a literature review, comparator institution database analysis, mapping of needs to LCME Standards, informal stakeholder interviews, consultation of AAHSL statistics and Doody's resources, evaluation of current holdings, and price estimation for needed resources. This article introduces the Library Guide Assessment Standards (LGAS) rubric, a peer review tool developed to address this gap by applying instructional design principles and best practices. Individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) are clinically underserved due to increased health and psychiatric comorbidities, structural barriers to treatment, stigma, and insufficient resources. This suggests that there is a need for an accessible and culturally competent treatment model.
