Introduction 

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remains a major global health challenge, particularly in resource limited countries where conventional treatments are often inaccessible or unaffordable. While lifestyle interventions can reduce diabetes risk, their efficacy is moderate, highlighting the need for alternative strategies. Fermented foods (FFs), which are widely available and affordable, have been shown to improve glucose metabolism and may offer a promising adjunct in the prevention and management of T2DM and prediabetes.

This distress arises from the constant demands of monitoring blood sugar levels, managing medications, adhering to dietary restrictions, engaging in regular physical activity, and navigating potential complications. Social and emotional factors such as stigma, discrimination, and concerns about future health further contribute to this burden. Factors like fear of hypoglycemia, financial strain, fluctuating blood sugar levels, anxiety about complications, and impacts on personal relationships exacerbate diabetes distress. Guideline-recommended screening programs exist for only a few single-cancer types, and these cancers represent less than one-half of all new cancer cases diagnosed each year in the U.S. In addition, these "single-cancer" standard of care (SoC) screening tests vary in accuracy, adherence, and effectiveness, though all are generally understood to lead to reductions in cancer-related mortality. Recent advances in high-throughput technologies and machine learning have facilitated the development of blood-based multi-cancer early detection (MCED) tests. The establishment of a student-run mobile clinic in Morehead, Kentucky, led by students from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine’s (UKCOM) Rural Physician Leadership Program (RPLP), aims to address health inequities in rural Appalachian communities. This pilot program is designed to serve vulnerable populations, including the unhoused, by delivering free, accessible healthcare services directly to underserved populations. This program serves as a model for expanding access to healthcare in rural regions while promoting a collaborative, community-based approach to addressing social determinants of health.

Background: Endometriosis, characterized by the ectopic growth of endometrial-like tissue, affects approximately 11% of reproductive-aged women in the United States. Diagnosing endometriosis is challenging due to its diverse clinical presentations, reliance on laparoscopic procedures, absence of biomarkers, and limited awareness among healthcare providers and patients.

After undergoing a residency merger in July 2020, the newly formed Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) Family Medicine Residency Program investigated the effects of the merger on the perspectives of the applicant pool for the subsequent 2020–2021 recruiting season. BACKGROUND: Primary care is the initial contact point for most patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) but lacks tools for guiding treatment. Only a small fraction of patients access evidence-based care. Long-acting injectable buprenorphine has potential to improve medication adherence and program retention in low-barrier primary care treatment settings. We present the first clinical decision support algorithm incorporating long-acting buprenorphine (LAIB) in primary care. We include a protocol for a future evaluation of the algorithm's implementation process, "Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) 2.0," at a housing and integrated care clinic at a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Introduction: Persistent racial and ethnic disparities exist for Type 2 diabetes in the U.S. Racial and ethnic minorities have a higher risk of Type 2 diabetes, and studies suggest that they engage in less exercise than White population. This study examined whether and to what degree racial differences in Type 2 diabetes were explained by exercise. Methods: Adults aged 45–84 years without Type 2 diabetes at baseline (2000–2002) were included from the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis cohort and followed through 2020.
