College females who attend the gym struggle with self-perception as they are surrounded by men who may be stronger and seem intimidating. This ultimately leads to feelings of self-consciousness and anxiety in college aged females that attend the gym. This paper analyzes the relationship women have formed with the gym, as well as how attending the gym can cause feelings of discomfort for many women. Women have experienced a fear of unwanted attention, lack of knowledge with certain equipment and exercises, and judgment from themselves, as well as other gym-goers. Theories of International Relations are constructed to help make sense of how power is divided amongst international actors. Three prominent theories: Realism, Liberalism, and Neo-Marxism, interpret international phenomena differently based on their assumptions about structures of global power. Economic interdependence is seen by each theory to impact who has power and how that power is maintained. These theories diverge in interpreting how economic interdependence impacts forms of conflict. These pieces do not interpret which theory is correct but work to emphasize the contextual foundations and analytical framework for how each theory perceives the entanglement of economic interdependence and conflict.

In this project, we used a mixed-methods study to collect critical information to evaluate the extent to which people modified their shopping behavior, either by choice or necessity, to meet their provisioning needs during the COVID-19 crisis and the following recovery. First, four waves of a cross-sectional survey were administered online to a representative sample of households in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Oregon, and Washington. This longitudinal, comparative study responded directly to a critical research gap and advanced behavioral science by providing a rich survey dataset to support and test theories of behavioral change and technology adoption. MaineGeneral received a Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) Implementation grant to further the work of the Substance Use Prevention Expanded Recovery (SUPER) Consortium. Over the course of the three-year grant, the SUPER Consortium: (1) expanded harm reduction work, including naloxone distribution, and (2) increased organizational capacity to treat and prevent SUD through education efforts in healthcare organizations, first responder organizations, community organizations, and schools. Child maltreatment, mental illness, and criminal behavior are all commonly known topics and a wide variety of research has been conducted to investigate the implications of all three concepts. Self-stigma is an important factor that hinders help seeking through the use of mental health services. “Self-stigma is the reduction of an individual’s self-esteem or self-worth caused by the individual self-labeling herself or himself as someone who is socially unacceptable” (Vogel et al., 2006, p. 325). No counseling research exists about how otherfathering affects Black men’s wellness. Black otherfathering has been primarily studied in schools as one of many expectations for Black male teachers. A review of research about the relationship between fathering, otherfathering, and mental health in Black men is presented and concludes with a rationale for more research about Black otherfathering as a potential protective factor for Black men’s mental health.

This study examines the financial connectedness and risk transmission among MENA economies by accounting for financial connectedness in the short and long run as well dependency under extreme market conditions and network graph analysis. To this end, Composite Financial Stress Indices are constructed for 11 MENA countries. In addition, a battery of econometric models is applied including the standard spillover approach, the frequency domain method, the quantile connectedness technique, and connectedness networks analysis.
