This study aims to determine whether there is a difference in detection rates between response model and response time model to detect aberrant behavior. Also, to determine examinee’s ability estimation accuracy of each model along with checking the strengths and weakness when there is an aberrant behavior in testing data especially CBT. This research is a simulation study where concentrate on test-length, sample-size, and aberrant level with 50 replications. Analyzing parameter recovery from replicated data to check the strengths and weaknesses of each model. Research Learning Experiences (RLEs)

Students in the Fall 2022 First-year Fusion course titled “The Sustainable Campus” used the UMF campus as a learning laboratory to examine how principles of environmental sustainability and stewardship are put into practice in their own academic backyard. Throughout the semester, they researched, observed, visited, assessed, and reported on a host of sustainability-related initiatives undertaken over the years at UMF. In this final project presentation, the class offers its recommendations on how UMF can continue its mission to maintain an environmentally aware and sustainably operated campus.

In order to be prepared a service member needs to be well informed about the services offered to them. My capstone project aims to provide service members with this information in a clear and concise manner. Utilizing research and military experience I will compile a booklet that will allow transitioning service members to be better informed. The main problems the shelters are facing are overpopulation and negative environments. The foster care takers are struggling with a lack of resources, which is anything from education to connecting to other foster care takers. This capstone project focused on identifying a need in the community for information on options and resources for home education in Idaho to be made transparent and accessible to the public, to assist families who may be considering home education as an option for their children. Employing an action approach, I created a website by which the community may access information on the various home education options available in Idaho, the laws and regulations that govern home education in the state, and some of the resources that are available to aid in the home education process.

On August 13th 2004, 166 people were killed and 106 were wounded at the UN’s Gatumba refugee camp in Burundi. Nearly all the victims were members of the Banyamulenge community, a Congolese Tutsi ethnic group who were deliberately targeted in the attack. The massacre was carried out by the Forces Nationales pour la Liberation (FNL), a Hutu supremacist rebel group fighting in Burundi’s civil war. Understanding the Gatumba Massacre requires understanding what forced those Banyamulenge refugees to flee their homes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and why the FNL targeted them. The National Center for Education Statistics has released this year’s NAEP results which measure nationwide student performance in 4th and 8th grade reading and math. NAEP is administered nationally to a representative sample of students from all 50 states, so acts as a standard measure of student performance across states and time. Due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the scale of explosive ordnance (EO) contamination in Ukraine has reached unprecedented levels, necessitating new methods to assess and track the different types of ordnance and the level of contamination across the country. As the most documented, active war on social media to date, The HALO Trust (HALO) has successfully harnessed open-source research to better plan and conduct survey, clearance operations, and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) across the country.

I have seen first-hand the long-lasting destruction that can be caused by explosive weapons and landmines across the world. My trip to Ukraine in April 2022 was no different. Ukraine has been ravaged by conflict for more than eight months. During my time there, I found many examples of makeshift signs warning returning civilians that strategically planted explosive weapons were somewhere inside or nearby. Written in bold, the signs serve as a warning for all types of unexploded ordnance (UXO) such as bombs and booby traps and landmines.

Since their first use in World War II, the use of Mine Detection Dogs (MDD) has been subject to ongoing debate. How effective are they really in finding mines? Are they really worth the expense they entail? As with so many aspects of modern survey and clearance operations, many of the lessons we continue to learn today have already been learned in the past. This study explores the relationship between gender and operational efficiency in the context of staff in field-based mine action roles. The aim of the study is to address stereotypes and unproven assumptions that may still exist in the mine action sector regarding women’s performance and availability to work in certain field-based roles. Operational efficiency was investigated using two key indicators: individual operational productivity and availability to work. Operational and human resource data was collected from fourteen country programs from four separate mine action organizations across four continents.
