The many negative effects of brain damage have been well studied, and some populations are at a higher risk for this type of injury, such as athletes and soldiers. In response, research has led to the development of increased head protection solutions, such as helmets. However, this is not the case for all at-risk populations of head trauma, specifically individuals who engage in headdirected self-injurious behavior. There are benefits from laboratory experiences, like increased student engagement (Ra’anon, 2005) and preparation for graduate school (McDonough, n.d.). Specifically, there are benefits from working in a live animal laboratory using operant chambers. It is not feasible for many universities to have live animal laboratories due to factors such as cost of animal care, maintenance, and ethical concerns, so many students have no laboratory experience. The current study sought to evaluate the CyberRat (Ray, 2019) software as an alternative to live rat laboratories. The goal of this paper is twofold. One: understand executive disfunction to gain a broader understanding of neurodiversity and the challenges those with neurodiversity face in the workforce. And two: research different accommodations to combat executive disfunction and evaluate their effectiveness. To accomplish these goals, an extensive literature review was conducted to understand neurodiversity, executive disfunction, government requirements relating to accommodations, and an exploration of current accommodations available. Additionally, research was conducted in the form of interviews and a survey to expand and add to the overall understanding of this research area.

The American Library Association provides a form for librarians to share challenges to library materials for the purposes of gathering data and providing support. In the face of increasing challenges to library materials, some states have also developed local procedures for gathering information and providing local support. In 2023, the presenters distributed a survey to gather information from states, territories, and tribal nations that do not publicly share their procedures to document efforts. This presentation will share the preliminary survey results showing differences across entities, lessons learned, and areas for future research.

In Pakistan, the enormous 2010 floods inflicted unprecedented destruction to 0.5 million houses in South Punjab. This study was conducted in Muzaffargarh, a district of the Punjab province of Pakistan, one of the worst affected areas during the 2010 floods. As an adaptation and disaster risk reduction measure, an International NGO in collaboration with the Government of the Punjab province constructed 1274 houses for flood-affected communities. The houses were allocated through a lottery method. Initially, the allottees moved to the new settlements for the sake of possession. We document the extent to which overconfidence in one’s financial literacy (FL overconfidence) plays a role in households’ reported financial risk aversion and their actual investment behavior, using data from the China Household Finance Survey. We measure FL overconfidence by estimating the gap between people’s self-reported financial literacy and their objectively measured financial knowledge. Our results indicate that FL overconfidence is negatively associated with self-reported financial risk aversion. Additionally, FL overconfidence is positively associated with the likelihood of having a brokerage account, holding risky financial instruments (other than just stock), and a proportion of assets allocated towards risky assets. As an emerging crop, there is a research gap in the impact of weather and agronomic conditions on hemp production including THC (Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol) and pollen drift as risks in hemp cultivation. The study focused on the relationship of gender equality with financial stability and financial inclusion in Pakistan. Time-series balanced annual frequency data between 2007 and 2023 (17 consecutive years) was collected from World Development Indicator (WDI), Global Financial Development Index (GFDI), and Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA) databases. The results demonstrated positive relationship between gender equality and financial inclusion. This manifested the fact that gender equality, macroeconomic policies optimizations, adequate operational procedures, and risk management are all top priority areas that require attention to generate sustainable development of the Pakistani banking sector and enhanced financial inclusion. Numerous states have amended their constitutions to include a green amendment (that is, an amendment providing that the state's citizens have a right to a healthy environment). Unfortunately, the vagueness of these amendments leaves an enormous amount of interpretative power to courts. This article examines how some courts have interpreted green amendments and how these interpretations risk the misuse of green amendments. Additionally, this article examines how such misuse may be avoided.

One answer to the American housing affordability crisis is for municipalities to allow more housing to be built. Some argue, however, that new housing does not benefit people who seek to remain in their current residence, and that this group is disproportionately poor and/or minority. This article critiques the latter view, pointing out that lower-income households are actually more likely to move because of financial instability.

In May and June of 2019 and 2021, a field school from the Fiske Center for Archaeological Research at the University of Massachusetts Boston, in partnership with Plimoth Patuxet Museums (formerly Plimoth Plantation) and the Town of Plymouth, undertook their final two seasons of work as part of Project 400: The Plymouth Colony Archaeological Survey. Excavations had been taking place yearly in Plymouth since the summer of 2013. Spanish vowel-final loans are consistently adopted in modern Nahuan languages with an added glottal phoneme: Spanish mesa > Nahuan mesah ‘table’. This adaptation is puzzling because there is no obvious aspect of the phonological or morphological grammar of Nahuan that motivates it. We present evidence that, due to the weakened voicing of Spanish utterance-final vowels, Nahuan speakers perceive Spanish vowel-final words in utterance-final position as ending in the Nahuan glottal phoneme and adopt the word with it. The COVID-19 Pandemic caused a significant change in the way people voted 2020. Many Americans chose to absentee vote out of safety concerns. However, this process was not the same experience for all voters because some states require an excuse to absentee vote while others do not. This study analyzes whether there is a difference in voter turnout between states with no-excuse absentee voting and those without it. While reviewing voter turnout data for the 2016 and 2020 General Elections, this research finds evidence that turnout was higher in states with no-excuse absentee systems than those that require an excuse. …

Currently, the Minneapolis-St. Paul area is home to the largest concentration of Hmong Americans here in the states, approximately 81,000 (Pew Research, 2019). Because of the war atrocities that many Hmong refugees experienced, scholars and researchers conducted diagnostic assessments during early resettlement, but the data was disaggregated and combined all Southeast Asian refugees together. Precision dairy technologies (PDT) are a potential solution to ameliorate this issue, but public perceptions towards PDT are currently underinvestigated.
