Complications of this disease can cause metabolic syndrome (high blood sugar, unhealthy cholesterol, and high blood pressure) and Type 2 diabetes. Doctors suggest a healthy diet full of fruits, vegetables, and healthy carbohydrates to help control symptoms. PCOS is one of many health issues that can be managed with a low-carb diet. My capstone project is a recipe book filled with quick or easy low-carb dinners created with a busy parent in mind.

Our digital collections team took on the challenge to improve the tools and processes of cataloging. We began to explore how we could build features that helped students into a cataloging worksheet tool, under development at DressDiscover.org. After our initial development of the tool, we looked back and realized just how much Universal Design for Learning (UDL) had influenced our design, although we had not consciously intended that from the start. In 1986, when IMSA first opened its doors to students, Plato, NovaNET, MacIntosh Plus and the Dat. Lab, even track paper all played an essential role in connecting IMSA to the emerging digital world. IMSA’s library, for example, boasted digital technology on par with the Ivy League university libraries. Like the rest of the world, IMSA has continued to expand and update its use of digital technologies, and as we move towards AI, this exhibit celebrates computing in our early days.

Generative AI (GenAI) has the potential to benefit student learning by offering personalized feedback, idea generation, research, and analysis support, writing aid, and administrative support (Chan and Hu, 2023; Zhang, 2023). However, if used inappropriately, the same tools can lead to false/biased content creation and reduced ethical awareness leading to possible academic dishonesty and privacy issues (Schwartz, 2016; Wu, 2023). It focused on building a community-supported reading program to create excitement and passion for reading in our young children and build a strong community and appreciation for service workers. To do this, I created the Melba 9-1-1 Reading Program to engage our young readers. The Melba elementary-aged children were tasked to read ninety (9) minutes per week (1) for one month (1). This project examines how neoliberal economic policies and socialist signifiers have co-existed in Vietnam since the 1980s market reforms. Focusing on Vietnam’s national airline, Vietnam Airlines, I draw on the ideas of Michel Foucault to show how neoliberal governmentality subsumes socialism to shape better citizens, workers, consumers, and human capital. Through an autoethnographic thick description of a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco, I capture neoliberal governmentality's intimate interactions with the subject. With Aihwa Ong's theory of “neoliberalism as exception” as a guide, I analyze how the selective deployment of socialist signifiers in the spaces, practices, and …

This paper analyzes a mix of alternative policies in supporting the green transition and the phase-out of fossil fuels, without compromising financial stability. An environmental dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (E-DSGE) model with two sectors (green and brown) and endogenous default is developed to assess potential climate-induced financial stability threats that can be mainly generated through physical and transition risks mechanism. Those risks are evaluated through a compound capital depreciation shock and a carbon tax shock. The paper offers several findings. First of all, a too stringent carbon tax would increase the medium-term default rate in both sectors, harming financial stability …

Understanding the traits, characteristics, decision-making process, and sports involvement of leadership helps to provide scholars with the opportunity to gain a better insight into the minds of leaders. This study was conducted through a qualitative research method. The questionnaire was sent out to a small pool of student-athletes, coaches, and administration in the athletic department. After a sharp decline associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, 2023 marked two consecutive years of increase in the number of freshman and high-school dual enrollees, with under-18-year-olds driving a disproportionate share of this growth. The rising importance of this latter student group presents new opportunities for colleges as well as underappreciated challenges rooted precisely in the high-school locale of concurrent Dual Enrollment courses. In the past several decades, the number of college students who experience mental health concerns has increased astronomically. During that time, acts of campus violence have increased as well. Unfortunately, many colleges have been unable to effectively meet the needs of students with mental disorders. This article explores the challenges surrounding the mental health and wellness of college students. It also analyzes the impact of such challenges on students and the institution. Additionally, this paper examines best practices that colleges may implement to assist students in distress and discusses implications for higher education leaders.
