The success of a country’s health development is marked by achieving fair access to healthcare and protecting the population from financial risks of health. Household spending on healthcare, or out-of-pocket (OOP) expenses, in Indonesia, remains far above the ideal limit set by the WHO. There is a noticeable disparity in OOP health expenditures across provinces in Indonesia. The five provinces with the highest per capita OOP expenses are on Java island. Oregon Population Forecast Program

To achieve more affordable, fair, and equitable outcomes in the housing planning process, the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development and Oregon Housing and Community Services developed a plan to address past and ongoing obstacles to access to affordable housing. This plan incorporated population projections with detail by age, race/ethnicity, and disability status, and for American Indian tribal lands with which to make a more detailed assessment of housing access and future housing needs. This report, prepared by the Portland State University Population Research Center, includes updates to previously published forecasts for the Grand Ronde Community and Celilo Village.

Noise In The Library: Using Wearable Biomarker Devices To Measure Student Stress While Studying In The Library, Megan Frost

Many patrons come to the library seeking a quite environment, but some library spaces are noisy. In our study, we attempted to identify if the level of noise in a typical busy university library setting impacted the physiological stress of its patrons, as measured by wearable devices. We assessed participants’ heart rate variability (HRV) and skin temperature while they studied in different areas in the library. We found that there was no significant difference in patron stress levels while studying in loud vs quiet areas. This was even true for those patrons who came into the library hoping to be …

This study evaluates the economic implications of TB incidence on gross domestic product (GDP) growth across eight ASEAN countries from 2000 to 2020. We employed a panel data regression approach, utilizing Common Effect Model (CEM), Fixed Effects Model (FEM), and Random Effects Model (REM) to analyze the relationship between TB incidence and economic growth. This research explores the adoption and use of digital reference services in federal university libraries in northern Nigeria. The study employed a mixed-method approach using exploratory research design. Both questionnaires and interviews were used for the collection of relevant data. Twenty (20) questionnaires were administered, and all retrieved successfully (100%). Meanwhile, questionnaires were analyzed in a tabular form to demonstrate how each objective of the study was achieved whereas thematic analysis was used for the analysis of the interview. Deficits in memory performance have been linked to a wide range of neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions. While many studies have assessed the memory impacts of individual conditions, this study considers a broader perspective by evaluating how memory recall is differentially associated with nine common neuropsychiatric conditions using data drawn from 55 international studies, aggregating 15,883 unique participants aged 15–90. The effects of dementia, mild cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, stroke, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder on immediate, short-, and long-delay verbal learning and memory (VLM) scores were estimated relative to matched healthy individuals. Many studies have documented the epidemic of mental ill-being among resident physicians, but fewer have focused on mental well-being or on guiding intervention design to make progress toward positive change in residency programs to support resident thriving. Informed by the job demands-resources model (JD-R) and positive psychology, the current study examines 4 potential predictors of residents’ ill-being (burnout, depression) and well-being (engagement, stay intent) that are malleable and thus capable of change through intervention: psychological capital (PsyCap), supervising physicians’ autonomy-supportive leadership style (ASL), social support, and meaningful work.

The current research used a qualitative approach to understand which factors facilitate and hinder wellness programming in residency programs.

Methods

Program directors identified from a previous quantitative study as having residency programs with notably more or less resident wellness programming than others (ie, high- and low-exemplars, respectively) were contacted. In total, semi-structured interviews were conducted over Zoom with 7 low-exemplars and 9 high-exemplars.

Results
