Background/Purpose: The disturbed glutamate homeostasis in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) plays a key role in the induction of relapse during nicotine withdrawal. The uptake of excessive extracellular glutamate relies on astrocytic glutamate transporter-1 (GLT-1) and transporter for cysteine (x-CT). Nicotine abuse leads to decreases in expressions of GLT-1 and xCT in NAc. Objective: By analyzing census databases, we aimed to understand the correlation between depression and other psychological and physiological diseases. Further, we expanded our research to the correlation with physiology, lifestyle habits, and other aspects. At the same time, we attempted to use artificial intelligence methods to predict the risk of depression, obtain relevant models, and derive depression.
Methods: Data from census databases were used in this research. Traditional data analysis methods were used for basic quantitative analysis, and highly correlated data with depression was selected for prediction model building.

Purpose: This cross-sectional study aimed to explore the association between physical fitness levels and state-trait anxiety psychology among Chinese college students through quantitative data analysis.

Background: Many studies have shown that interlimb asymmetry is prevalent in various sports. As a highly reactive, one-sided sport, tennis has been shown to have significant left-right differences in grip strength and triceps strength in tennis players. However, playing tennis can also place an uneven mechanical load on the lower extremities. This left-right difference in mechanical load may also result in asymmetrical strength in the lower limbs. Therefore, early and effective interventions are needed to narrow the strength gap between the non-dominant and dominant legs.

Objective: Respiratory muscle training (RMT) is a specialized training method targeting the strength and endurance of respiratory muscles, aimed at enhancing lung function and the adaptability of the respiratory system. Common training techniques in RMT include deep breathing, inspiratory muscle training, expiratory muscle training, and diaphragm training. It is generally applicable to athletes, individuals with lung function impairments, the elderly, and those requiring high-intensity respiratory efforts. PURPOSE: This study aimed to investigate whether reduced plantar cutaneous sensation could alter the movement strategies of the lower extremities in people with chronic ankle instability (CAI) during single leg drop landing.
METHODS: Fourteen adults with CAI were recruited (female: 6, age: 22.03±1.73 years, height: 1.72±0.11 m, body weight: 71.53±15.49 kg) in this study. Background/Purpose: Dynamic stability deficit is one of the strongest risk factors for ankle sprains. Proprioception and strength are crucial for maintaining dynamic stability and preventing sprains during sports and daily activities. The mechanisms by which humans maintain anteroposterior (AP) and medial-lateral (ML) stability are different. The correlations of AP and ML dynamic stability with its two factors, namely, proprioception and strength, may explain the recurrent sprains among individuals with functional ankle instability (FAI). Exercise and electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) have been shown to improve knee function and relieve pain in patients with PFPS. Background: Grip strength (GS) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) are both pivotal determinants of physical and mental well-being in middle-aged and older adults. While the relationship between GS and HRQoL has been established, further exploration is needed to understand the direction and underlying mechanisms of this relationship.
