This study examined Black male school psychologists' experiences, challenges, and contributions, focusing on the systemic barriers that limited their full participation in the field. A phenomenological approach was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. Four key themes emerged: lack of early exposure to the profession, challenges during graduate training, the need for advocacy and representation, and the complexity of their individual identities. The findings highlighted the importance of proactive strategies to recruit and retain Black male school psychologists, stressing the need for diversity, cultural competence, and inclusivity in both professional and educational settings. Although the prevalence of ASD among Latino children and single mother households has increased in recent years, there is limited research that explores the experiences of Latina single mothers raising children with ASD. This qualitative study utilized a phenomenological approach to gain a better understanding of the experiences of Latina single mothers raising children with ASD, using the ecological framework to conceptualize their experiences within their cultural and environmental contexts. Most students struggle with effective self-study, often relying on passive strategies like rereading instead of active techniques such as retrieval practice, which research shows enhances learning and long-term retention. To address this issue, this study introduced and evaluated the Blank Paper Method—a structured free recall protocol designed to encourage self-regulated retrieval practice. The study explored two key questions: (1) Does the Blank Paper Method improve test performance compared to students’ default study habits? (2) Will students voluntarily adopt this method over time, demonstrating self-regulated learning? Families in the United States often face significant delays in accessing autism-related healthcare services. Despite routine autism-specific screenings at 18- and 24-month pediatric visits, there is still, on average, a gap of over two years before families receive an autism diagnosis (Chen et al., 2023). This study examined the effects of fluency-based training on staff implementation of crisis management procedures in a center-based public school serving students with exceptionalities. Using a single-case multiple baseline design across three targeted skills—1-Person Stability Hold, 2-Person Stability Hold, and Forward Transport—the study measured changes in staff accuracy, confidence, and injury frequency. Six staff members participated, all of whom were Registered Behavior Technicians or Personal Care Assistants certified in Safety-Care® procedures. The intervention incorporated Behavior Skills Training (BST), enhanced with repeated trials and immediate feedback until participants achieved fluency, which was defined as five consecutive error-free trials. This study examined the relationship between executive functioning, semantic organization, and occupational classification, focusing on whether individuals in professional roles (as defined by the Career Occupational Preference System; COPS) demonstrated stronger executive functioning and semantic organization during memory recall than those in non-professional roles. Participants completed the Booklet Category Test (BCT) to assess executive functioning, the California Verbal Learning Test–Second Edition (CVLT-II) to evaluate semantic organization using short-delay free recall (SDFR), and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale–Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV) to measure IQ. Online services face quality uncertainties. To address user concerns, Online Service Providers (OSPs) sometimes provide service guarantees, compensating users if quality falls below a predefined threshold. This paper analyzes how OSPs use service guarantees to navigate market competition and enhance revenue through game theory and queuing theory models. Key findings include the following: offering guarantees enable OSPs to increase prices; in monopolistic markets, guarantees are offered only if the service guarantee strength is sufficient, whereas in competitive markets, decisions depend on relative strengths and competitor actions. Future Artemis-class missions to Mars will expose astronauts to prolonged space radiation (SR), sleep disruption, and operational demands requiring greater autonomy, placing decision making and executive function at heightened risk. Both SR and sleep fragmentation (SF) independently impair cognition, yet their combined effects remain poorly understood. Using the Associative Recognition Memory and Interference (ARMIT) task, we assessed cognitive performance in male rats exposed to 10 cGy of Galactic Cosmic Ray simulation (GCRsim), SF, or both. Under well-rested conditions, GCRsim-exposed rats exhibited overt deficits in the C.1.2 stage, performing at chance when reinforcement contingencies shifted, consistent with impaired cognitive flexibility. This essay argues that threats to democracy—both global and domestic—pose an existential risk to the advancement of social justice. It explores how democratic backsliding undermines efforts to achieve social justice for all, examining anti-democratic practices such as misinformation, voter suppression, institutional dismantling, and the politicization of public service. The Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment Fourier Transform Spectrometer (ACE-FTS) uses limb geometry to measure transmittance spectra of Earth's atmosphere by solar occultation. Line-of-sight wind speeds can be derived via Doppler shifts of molecular lines in infrared spectra. The wind look direction angles relative to geodetic North are derived from geometry. We validate the new ACE version 5.3 (v.5.3) line-of-sight winds with MIGHTI and meteor radar vector wind observations and find a ±15 m/s sunrise/sunset shift above 80 km. We also compare line-of-sight winds from ACE-FTS v.5.2 and v.5.3 with vector winds from the MERRA-2, HWM14, and WACCM-X models. A ±15 m/s …

Monitoring and analyzing PFAS in Africa is challenging due to the limited availability of mass spectrometry (MS), which is an essential technique for detecting PFAS. This review assesses the scope and impact of the shortage of mass spectrometry instruments in Africa, emphasizing the resulting limitations in monitoring environmental and public health threats. Discarded objects like munitions in marine environments pose public safety risks. The behavior of various density objects deployed at four cross-shore positions in the surf zone of a large-scale 120 m x 5 m x 5 m wave flume were observed under different forcing conditions. Net migration was predominantly directed offshore, with approximately 70 % offshore migration observed near the outer surf zone. Density, shape, and initial orientation were identified as important to object behavior, with density acting as the dominant driver in 67 % of the object pairing scenarios. Motivation: Here, we make available a second version of the BioTIME database, which compiles records of abundance estimates for species in sample events of ecological assemblages through time. The updated version expands version 1.0 of the database by doubling the number of studies and includes substantial additional curation to the taxonomic accuracy of the records, as well as the metadata. Moreover, we now provide an R package (BioTIMEr) to facilitate use of the database.

Betrayal trauma (Freyd, 1996) is a specific form of trauma that occurs when a child is significantly harmed by someone they depend on or trust. Prior research has demonstrated that betrayal trauma is more strongly associated with adverse mental health outcomes than traumas lower in interpersonal betrayal, yet few studies have examined its relationship with suicidal ideation or identified mechanisms that explain this association. The present study tested a path model in a sample of 391 young adults aged 18-34 who endorsed suicidal ideation in the past year. This study explores the lived experiences of young Ethiopian and Eritrean diaspora leaders in the United States who have been recognized by others as embodying emergent leadership. The research was inspired by the firsthand observations of a gap in leadership representation and recognition among first- and second-generation East African diaspora young adults, particularly those navigating bicultural identities and intergenerational tension. This sequential explanatory mixed methods study explored the organizational resilience of food sovereignty organizations (FSOs) in the northeastern United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a novel “open structural learning approach” that integrates structural contingency theory, open systems theory, and organizational learning theory, this research examined how FSOs’ structural attributes, resource flows, and organizational culture shaped their ability to navigate crisis. The study engaged FSO leaders through surveys (n = 13) and in-depth interviews (n = 7), supplemented by archival data analysis, to explore factors that strengthened or diminished FSO resilience. This study explores the lived experiences of clinical supervisors who engage in somatically oriented supervision. Informed by relational-cultural theory and polyvagal theory, the research employs a grounded theory methodology to investigate the potential development of a somatic supervision framework. Eleven participants completed semi-structured interviews and data were analyzed using both thematic analysis and grounded theory techniques. This study aimed to explore the stories of Black women in professional leadership roles. Grounded in a Black feminist perspective (Crenshaw, 1989) and informed by historical and intergenerational trauma (Brave Heart, 1999), this study utilized Black storytelling as a methodological framework and employed thematic analysis to examine the narratives of participants.
