This issue of Asian Review is a product of the Asian Consortium of South Asian Studies. The article in this volume explores the profound and multifaceted ways in which communities of South Asian descent have migrated to, settled in, and dynamically reshaped their identities within Southeast Asia. Moving beyond the historical narrative of South Asian Diaspora, these studies demonstrate that the notions of belonging, diasporic identity and national identity are not static concepts but are continuously negotiated, performed, and politicized in response to local contexts and global shifts. The papers collectively reveal a complex history of South Asian migration.

Meeting Where Students Are: Stump The Librarian, Beth Hendrickson, Sara Decaro, Chris Labuda

For two years, librarians Beth, Sara, and Chris, have been holding 'Stump the Librarian' events in Willard Hall. Gamifying the reference interview, Stump the Librarian events allow students to ask librarians silly, niche, or complex questions in the quest to 'stump' us. By meeting the students in their own space, it allows for more recognition for what librarians can offer students, lowers library anxiety, and allows better understanding of students' interests and research. This presentation offers insight into thinking outside of the box for engaging with students and gives faculty an opportunity to step outside of their comfort zone.

Proposing corporate data responsibility (CDR) as an emerging dimension ofcorporate social responsibility (CSR), this study examines how consumersperceive their generative AI (GenAI) company’s communication about dataresponsibility, and how these communications influence perceived CDR andtrust in the service. Using data from a national survey of 819 U.S. GenAI users,the findings demonstrate that stakeholder engagement in CDR communica-tion positively influences consumer perceptions of both algorithmic andinstitutional responsibility. Notably, institutional responsibility playsa significant role in enhancing trust in GenAI systems, serving asa cognitive heuristic for evaluating technical algorithmic responsibility. Itsuggests that institutional responsibility bridges the gap between technicalalgorithmic accountability and consumer trust. These …

Mental health is vital to seminarians' holistic development, playing a crucial role in their personal growth and pastoral readiness. Equipping seminarians with mental health training enhances their human formation and addresses stigma, creating a foundation for more compassionate and effective ministry. The study utilized an explanatory research design with 11 college seminarians as the participants. The study reveals that mental health training significantly improved seminarians' knowledge, awareness, and beliefs, leading to a more supportive and informed approach to mental well-being. Seminarians transitioned from initial skepticism to active mental health advocacy, recognizing the importance of psychological support alongside spiritual care. The …

This pre-experimental one-shot case study investigated the impact of Adobe Firefly on undergraduate theatrical design students' self-perception of their visual communication skills during the scenic design research process.

Thirty-four undergraduate students from six Midwestern universities participated in a three-phase study utilizing Teresa M. Amabile's Componential Theory of Creativity as the theoretical framework. According to attachment theory, attachment representations shape the way in which individuals obtain and organize social information. One facet of social information processing that has been studied in relation to attachment representations is memory reconstruction, which is the process by which previous experiences and prior knowledge shape the recollection of past events. In this study, we examined how secure base script knowledge, an aspect of attachment representations that reflects access to a temporal-causal sequence regarding receiving support from close others, predicts changes in how romantic partners perceive conflict resolution discussions over time. Self-Esteem Moderating Multiracial Identity And Social Anxiety In Asian Americans, Hoa Vo

This study examines the relationship between multiracial identity and social interaction anxiety among emerging Asian American adults. Specifically, it explores the moderating role of self-esteem and potential gender differences in these relationships. Multiple regression models and independent samples t-tests were used to analyze data from 139 multiracial individuals with Asian heritage (Mage = 19.95, 79.13% female) aged 18 to 29. The results indicated that while multiracial identity integration (MII) was positively associated with social interaction anxiety (SIAS; B = 0.843, p = .010), it was not significant and self-esteem (RES; B = 0.036, p = .899) did not significantly moderate …

Passionate fandom is not a novel phenomenon in the field of sport. The fervor of fans builds stadiums and has allowed the sport industry to grow exponentially in the past few decades. Scholars have examined the passionate fan through many theoretical lenses, but comparatively little scholarship has looked at sport fandom fervor from inside. An autoethnographic examination of my unexpected journey as a fan of journeyman National Football League (NFL) quarterback Taylor Heinicke demonstrates how fandom can stir passions and create rituals in sport followers. This study investigated the influence of leadership on adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) in corporate communication within two civil society organizations (CSOs)—the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and Transparency International-Kenya (TI-Kenya). The study used a qualitative method to identify AI tools in corporate communication, examine leadership approaches that influence AI adoption, scrutinize employee perceptions of leadership influence on AI use, and identify the motivators and barriers to adopting AI. Latina young people report high levels of mental health problems and low levels of helpseeking

compared with their white peers, but little research has examined factors influencing

their mental health views. Inductive analysis of 25 participants’ narratives revealed that Latina

young people described three stages in the development of their mental health-related beliefs,

attitudes, and behaviors: undergoing a process of family mental health socialization, suffering

in silence, and attaining a new perspective. Within each of these phases, participants shared

stories that attest to their agency and resilience. This research uncovers a novel theoretical

and sexual health issues. Yet, their firsthand perspectives and experiential knowledge of
