Academic librarians do not engage with all disciplinary departments equally. Despite equal or even greater efforts, some departments are less responsive to librarian outreach. One such department is mathematics. To understand mathematics departments’ relationships with their academic librarians, three mathematics librarians created a 20-question survey that was disseminated to mathematics faculty, instructors, and instructional staff in the United States and Canada. Of the 188 survey participants, more than a third reported that they never engage with their librarians, approximately half only do so occasionally, and a mere eight percent of participants collaborated with librarians to provide information literacy instruction (IL) …

Roughly 30% of autistic individuals are nonspeaking, meaning they do not (or very minimally) communicate with speech. Many nonspeaking individuals have the ability to communicate with others by using augmentative and alternative communication, such as speech-generating devices or communication boards. The purpose of this study was to examine the attitudes of speaking individuals toward nonspeaking autistic people through a survey measuring attitudes and stigma toward nonspeaking people, autistic people, and disabled people, respectively. Predictors of attitudes, such as contact, knowledge, gender, and psychological inflexibility were examined. This research explored themes of connection and belonging in SGM clients in individual art therapy sessions through the medium of collage. An arts-based research method was developed utilizing the medium of collage in session with clients, followed with reflective response collages and journaling to analyze the data observed. Across 5 art therapy sessions, clients engaging in collage facilitated deeper therapeutic rapport and safety, enhanced a sense of connection with the self, and helped to process barriers and desires around clients’ close relationships.

Information, Production Networks and Optimal Taxation: This paper studies optimal taxation in an economy with information frictions and a production network across industries. I show that when all industries share the same information structure, production efficiency holds and optimal policy features no taxes on intermediate goods. This dissertation examines the agropastoral practices in the Eurasian landmass between the 3rd millennium BCE to 1st millennium CE, focusing on characterizing how communities living in mountainous Inner Asia incorporated plant cultivation into their mobile agropastoralist lifestyle. I examine macrobotanical remains from key archaeological sites along the routes of the trans-Eurasian exchange of domesticated plants and animals and various technologies during the Bronze and Iron Ages. These sites include Chap, Kyrgyzstan, Tasbas, Kazakhstan, and Dingdong, Piyang, Jiweng, Kaerdong, and Bangga, located in Tibet.
