This study aimed to analyze the American stance on the political crises occurring in the Arab world, using Iraq as a case study from 2011 to 2021. To achieve this, analytical, descriptive, and qualitative methods were employed, focusing on the collection, interpretation, and analysis of secondary data, which were deemed most appropriate for the nature and objectives of the study. The results indicated that US-Iraqi relations have significantly shifted according to American interests. The U.S. position often influenced the onset, escalation, or resolution of political crises. This article contributes toward the effort to uncover the impact of women on the making of the Mongol Empire in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. It also considers how women among the Mongols interacted with religion in varied and distinct ways and how these relationships influenced the development of Eurasian religions and the Mongol Empire overall. These interactions, which took place in the personal realm, the political realm, and in the realm of patronage, had profound effects on the development of Eurasian religions and the Mongol Empire.

Race relations worsened and violence driven by racism increased following World War I. As a result, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or the NAACP, began to scout out cases they could employ in the fight to enshrine federal protections against racial terrorism that were exemplified in Arkansas' 1919 Elaine Massacre and the 1921 lynching of Henry Lowery.

Background: Workplace mental health is a growing concern in higher education, especially in open and distance learning (ODL) settings, where staff face unique stressors. This study examines the mental health and counseling needs of academic and support staff at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU), Thailand, using a biopsychosocial lens.

Methods: An explanatory sequential mixed-methods design was used. In the quantitative phase, 332 staff completed a questionnaire on mental health and biopsychosocial factors. Twelve participants then took part in interviews to explore their experiences and counseling preferences. Quantitative data were analyzed using stepwise regression, and qualitative data through thematic analysis. …

Background: The R577X polymorphism (rs1815739) in the ACTN3 gene, which encodes α-actinin-3, results in deficiency of the functional protein in the muscles of the XX carriers, what could potentially impair muscle fiber function and increase susceptibility to injuries. Thus, this study aimed to assess the relationship between the ACTN3 R577X polymorphism and non-contact muscle injury risk in a physically active Caucasians cohort. Aeroponically grown potatoes offer higher yields and year-round production but often face delayed market entry due to high setup costs, technical barriers, and logistical challenges. A delay-based mathematical model has been newly proposed in this study to analyze the dynamics of demand, supply, and pricing for aeroponically grown products. The model’s existence, stability, and sensitivity have been investigated analytically, and numerical simulations have been carried out using the Runge-Kutta 4th order method with the dde23 solver. This paper examines existing global frameworks, such as the Environmental Performance Index (EPI), Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and emerging tools like PRISM and JUSTICE Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs). Trading volumes are one of the most important indicators of liquidity in financial markets. Although the Iraqi banking system has experienced liquidity turmoil since 2003, this has led to a significant decline in the stock market. This study aims to investigate the impact of trading volumes on bank credit in the Iraq Stock Exchange. Based on a sample of 60 companies listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange and 18 banks, the study spanned a 15-year period, from 2008 to 2023. Schools are designed to foster growth and learning while promoting positive educational outcomes for all students. Yet, there is some evidence that the education system is not meeting the needs of all students, nor are achievement outcomes the same for everyone. Some of the identified challenges seem to be developmentally based, whereas others are evident among different demographic subgroups. This paper examines how different generations in Indonesia perceive and respond to government data breaches, a recurring phenomenon that undermines trust in state-led digital governance. Using a mixed-methods design, it draws on interviews with civil society organisations, focus groups, and a survey of 1,081 respondents across Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. Findings show that distrust in the government’s ability to protect personal data is widespread, but generationally stratified. Baby Boomers and Generation X largely treat breaches as bureaucratic inevitabilities, exhibiting high resignation and minimal engagement. This study investigates the relationship between market-economic decentralization and governance within the Hargeisa Local Government in Somaliland. Market-economic decentralization, influenced by neoliberal principles, involves transferring decision-making authority to local levels to stimulate private sector engagement and economic efficiency. Despite comprehensive decentralization reforms initiated in 2001, Hargeisa continues to confront significant governance challenges, including institutional weaknesses, fiscal mismanagement, and corruption. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this research integrates quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with 269 local officials to assess the impact of decentralization on key governance indicators: accountability, transparency, and e-governance. Development planning ideally requires accurate information to translate distant solutions, where actions and impacts are separated by significant delays. However, the attention theory suggests that the attention of planners is constrained by familiarity bias, shaped by organizational procedures and communication channels. This study argues that planners are less likely to prioritize distant solutions due to a stronger sense of perceived self-efficacy. However, SNAP participation rates among older adults substantially lag behind those of other age groups.
