2021 Celebration of Student Scholarship - Poster Presentations

By drawing anonymous data from a thorough online survey, the link between a media consumer’s interest and personality type has been outlined. Using the internet as a host for the survey encouraged a sense of anonymity. This encourages truthfulness and participant willingness. This study explores the effects of personality types on media preferences. Trends within personality types and their collective likes and dislikes and correlational trends allow professionals to make assumptions pertaining to both individuals and the population. This allows science to create generalized profiles of the population and analyze how psychological types affect an individual’s overall perception of media.

The article describes the methodology for the development of mathematical models of information systems, based on materials from various literary sources, author's developments on the system approach, mathematical modeling and programming. This article tries to draw lessons from Chile for Zambia on innovative industrial policy and strategies that lead to industrial transformation and job creation. The creation of quality jobs for the increasingly skilled youth requires significant efforts. Industrial policy has been argued to have the potential to contribute to the creation of employment through support for new and old initiatives in the economy. The issue of access to financial products has been a public policy issue since 2005 when the first FinScope Zambia study was conducted. The 2015 study indicated that 40.7% of adults were financially excluded. This article investigates the influence of mobile money on financial inclusion using urban Kitwe and Kalulushi as case studies. We employ an ethnographic methodology to understand the extent to which mobile money has encouraged the unbanked population to access financial products and services. Masculinity has been at the forefront of discussion surrounding social change in American popular culture. After consideration of the historical context of masculinity in the 20th century, development and sport were discussed. To evaluate the effects of adult men’s masculinity ideology on their perceptions of gender nonconforming behavior (pink nail polish), an adolescent male athlete target was utilized. A 2 x 2 between-subjects design used sport (football and swimming), and status (a freshman and a senior) in vignettes which described an adolescent male athlete. The Age-Friendly University (AFU) Initiative was launched in 2012 at Dublin University, and became an international group of institutions of higher education who have committed themselves to becoming more age-inclusive in their program and policies. The University of Rhode Island became part of the AFU Initiative in 2018.
