From environmentalism’s perspective, there are four fundamental assumptions that make capitalism inconsistent with efforts to preserve the environment. First, unlimited growth in the capitalist system is contradicted with limited environmental conditions. Second, the basic principles of capitalism (individual freedom, self-interests, and free-market) are not compatible with efforts to preserve the environment. Child abuse can impact a child’s life severely and may even cause death in extreme situations. Child Protection Services receives millions of child abuse allegations every year. Abuse continues to be underreported despite state regulations that require teachers to complete the Mandated Reporter Training. The research study explored students understanding of different types of abuse among the elderly. The exploratory research project utilized a qualitative approach that consisted of one-to-one zoom interviews using open-ended questions to obtain information about the students’ insight, feelings, and experiences on the topic of elder abuse. The present study focused on unpacking the social and structural aspects of job complexity to better understand its effects on the gender wage gap. Previous research on the job complexity-compensation dynamic has primarily focused on cognitive complexity. Job complexity across occupations were examined using work activity data from O*NET and merging it with the Current Population Survey data sponsored by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (N=67,003). Results revealed that higher complexity jobs in this study yielded greater wage disparities across different occupations as predicted. For this study, the six participants were recruited from the Southern California area. They all currently work in the child welfare field. The data for this qualitative study was collected through interviews. All interviews were completed telephonically and then transcribed for data analysis. Decades of research studies have underscored the significant impact siblings have on life outcomes. Those with successful (e.g., positive, close, supportive) sibling relationships experience benefits such as more competent social and emotional skills, healthier well-being, and increased life satisfaction compared to those with unsuccessful (e.g., negative, distant, conflictual) sibling relationships who tend to be less skilled in social situations, have lower emotional regulation skills, decreased psychological well-being, and report higher levels of loneliness in old age. The current study employed an explanatory research design to explore the association between excessive device use and the well-being of children and adolescents.
