Although calls for a more diverse workforce in biomedical fields have been widespread, racial and ethnic gaps in biomedical degree attainment remain. Contextualist perspectives seek to understand persistent STEM inequities by examining person-in-context experiences and how systemic factors filter into students' proximal contexts shaping their participation and science identity trajectories. Research training communities of practice aim to offer underrepresented minority and first-generation students support, guidance, and opportunities to learn the practices of science and construct their science identity. Human–snake conflict results in negative outcomes for people and snakes, and if left unmanaged, could undermine conservation efforts. One approach to managing conflict between people and snakes is to use signage to inform members of the public on the presence of venomous snakes and measures to prevent snakebites. To be an effective tool, however, signs must first be noticed, then read and understood by the target audience. As part of conservation efforts targeting eastern massasauga rattlesnakes (Sistrurus catenatus) in southwestern Ontario, Canada, we tested the effectiveness of signage at increasing awareness of its presence, status and threats, and …

The purpose of this study was to examine levels of knowledge and self-efficacy related to technology integration among students of a teacher preparation program at Taibah University. Many studies have explored factors of pre-service teachers that might affect the use of technology in teaching, however, no study has been found to address the topic of the current study. This study applies the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) as a theoretical framework. The purpose of this study was to explore the reasons for parents' reluctance to register their children in public education and their preference for private education in kindergarten in the State of Kuwait. The study used the analytical descriptive methodology, and 311 questionnaires were randomly distributed to parents of children in private schools. The purpose of the study was to explore the effectiveness of a training program of enhancing Arabic language teaching practices on developing grade-ten students’ reading comprehension skills in Oman. The study sample consisted of 40 teachers and 400 male and female students. A training program, an observation form and a reading comprehension test were developed. This study aimed to identify obstacles when using a participatory writing strategy to develop the writing skills for those with writing disabilities from the viewpoint of teachers with learning disabilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The study sample consisted of 54 teachers and educational supervisors. The participants responded to a questionnaire to assess the level of the obstacles. The results showed a high level of obstacles in the participatory writing strategy related to the student. The purpose of this study was to explore the requirements of the acquisition of twenty-first century skills for kindergarten children from the experts’ viewpoints. The study adopted the descriptive method, and it was administered to a sample consisting of 75 male and female faculty members who are specialized in kindergarten. The participants responded to two questionnaires, one of them was to determine the twenty-first century skills required for kindergarten children; and the second one was related to the requirements of acquiring such skills. In writing a research paper or learning a foreign language, it is normally used in reference books to provide a definition of a particular term. If the term is well explained and defined, there will be no question. However, all reference books do not always add even frequently used words and their multiple meanings to the word lists. Consequently, it will engender difficulty among language. This article is about phraseological units that represent the positive characteristics of a person. Directly analyzes phraseological units that reflect positive qualities such as sincerity, fearlessness, courage, intelligence, and so on. As noted above, phraseological units differ from other linguistic units in revealing the phenomena of reality, in describing the appearance, and emotionally revealing the inner world of man. The article examines the synonymous relations that have historically developed in the forestry terminology of the German and Uzbek languages on the basis of the causal intentional development of semantic, grammatical and word-formation systems of genetically heterogeneous languages. Derivation of absolute and semantic substantive, verbal adjective, hybrid and borrowed synonyms from Latin and Greek is considered, identical and distinctive aspects of synonymy of the two languages are analyzed. A comparative characteristic of the original, derivative and synonymous terminology of a number of areas of forestry vocabulary of the German and Uzbek languages is carried out.
