This comment reviews the history and consequences of wrongful convictions, explores the proposed Conviction Integrity Act of 2021, and scrutinizes Texas's role in exonerations. The root of wrongful convictions depends on various factors. However, the slow overturn of wrongful convictions largely depends on the lack of funding conviction integrity units and innocence organizations receive. The devastating truth is that there are many known wrongfully incarcerated persons sitting in prison because of the amount of funds necessary to reinvestigate a possible exoneration. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) offer transformative potential for advancing sustainable development, aligning with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) of 72 peer-reviewed studies (2019–2025) to explore innovative models, methods, and applications of AI-IoT in promoting sustainability. Grounded in systems theory, socio-technical systems, and sustainability science, the findings highlight prevalent models, such as smart cities and precision agriculture, as well as advanced methods like machine learning and edge AI, with applications across energy, agriculture, healthcare, transportation, and water management. هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على دور الجامعات الفلسطينية في تعزيز منظومة القيم لدى طلبتها من وجهة نظرهم، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع طلبة الجامعات الفلسطينية الثلاثة وهي (جامعة الأقصى، الجامعة الإسلامية، جامعة الأزهر)، في الفصل الدراسي الأول خلال عام 2022م– 2023م، وتم اختيار عينةً عشوائيةً طبقيةً من مجتمع الدراسة، حيث بلغت عينة الدراسة (375) طالباً وطالبةً، وتمثلت أداة الدراسة في استبانة دور الجامعات الفلسطينية في تعزيز منظومة القيم لدى طلبتها، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة: أن دور الجامعات الفلسطينية في تعزيز القيم لدى الطلبة جاء بدرجة كبيرة وبمتوسط (48.3%) وبنسبة مئوية (69.5%). عدم وجود فروق ذات …

هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى تأثير التعليم الإلكتروني على مهارات معلمي المدارس الإعدادية في مدينة اللد خلال جائحة كورونا اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واختارت الباحثة عينة طبقية عشوائية قوامها (50) معلماً من مدارس اللد الإعدادية لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، تم تطوير مقياس تمتع بدلالات صدق وثبات مناسبة، وهو مقياس أثر التعليم الإلكتروني على مهارات معلمي المدارس، وتم تطبيقه على عينة الدراسة في الفصل الثاني من العام 2023-2024. أشارت النتائج إلى وجود علاقة طردية إيجابية ودالة إحصائياً بين التعليم الإلكتروني ومهارات معلمي المدارس. كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في متوسطات استجابات عينة الدراسة لأثر التعليم الإلكتروني على مهارات معلمي …

هدف المقال التعرف إلى مستوى الإبداع الحركي لدى طلبة مساقات ألعاب القوى في كليات التربية الرياضية بجامعتي اليرموك والهاشمية، وكذلك معرفة الفروق الدالة الإحصائياً في مستوى الإبداع بين الطلبة بناءً على متغيري الجامعة والجنس. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (146) طالباً وطالبة، منهم 78 من جامعة اليرموك و68 من الجامعة الهاشمية، إذ بلغ عدد الذكور 91 والإناث 55 تم اختيارهم بالطريقة العمدية. اعتمدت الباحثة على المنهج المسحي لملاءمته وطبيعة الدراسة، واستخدمت الاستبانة كأداة لجمع البيانات، ولتحليل البيانات، تم استخدام برنامج التحليل الإحصائي (SPSS) لاستخراج المتوسطات الحسابية والانحراف المعياري واختبار (T-test) للفروق، أظهرت النتائج أن مستوى الإبداع لدى أفراد عينة الدراسة جاء …

Gardens provide hands-on opportunities for environmental education that extend beyond food production, encompassing ecological literacy, sustainability practices, experiential learning, and community engagement. This article uses a creative nonfiction approach to examine the author’s personal journey from reluctant gardener to advocate for learning gardens. Through narrative reflection of her own family’s gardening experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, the author illustrates how gardening fosters intergenerational learning, socio-emotional development, and curiosity-driven exploration of ecological systems. The article highlights how gardens function as accessible entry points for lifelong learners of all ages, demonstrating that environmental literacy can emerge outside of traditional scientific expertise. Hmongcentric Niche Charter Schools: The Role Of Social Capital On Students’ Perceived Academic Competence, Zha Blong Xiong, Ting Xu, Kyle Nickodem, Malina Her

Journal of Southeast Asian American Education and Advancement

Using Coleman’s (1988) social capital theory, this study investigated the connection between family and school social capital and the perceived academic competence of students enrolled in Hmongcentric niche charter schools. The study analyzed 124 participants consisting of third, fourth, and fifth-grade students residing in Minnesota, with 93% identifying as Hmong. Results of structural equation modeling showed that school social capital, as measured by school attachment and school connection, is significantly linked to students’ perceived academic competence. Further analyses suggested that school attachment, especially in charter schools that focus on culture and language, plays a more crucial role in shaping students’ …

This study investigated awareness and perception of artificial intelligence in counselling practice among counsellors-in-training. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for this study. The population consisted of all counsellors-in-training (CITs) in Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo. Two hundred (200) counsellors-in-training were randomly selected from Degree three (3) and four (4) as sample for the study. Structured questionnaire was used as instrument to collect data for the study. It was validated by experts in Test and Measurement. Educators report feeling overwhelmed by shifts in their working conditions and responsibilities since the pandemic, leading to significant levels of burnout and reduced professional satisfaction. Beyond traditional instructional roles, teachers are increasingly expected to serve as first responders to students’ wellness needs, manage complex behavioral issues, and provide ongoing emotional support. While teachers’ instructional practices, ability to manage classroom dynamics, and engagement in leadership roles evolve over time, findings here show that their well-being and approach to supporting students’ wellness needs shift across different career phases as well. This dissertation explores the lived workplace experiences of non academic middle managers at community colleges, a group often overlooked in higher education research. Using a phenomenological approach, this study draws on semi-structured interviews with eleven directors and managers to highlight how these professionals navigate their campus environments, operational demands, and student needs. Framed by Max Weber’s theory of bureaucracy, the findings underscore the dual roles middle managers play, as organizational lynchpins and leaders and as advocates for students, all while operating within constrained organizational structures.
