This multiple-case study investigated the changes in three secondary science preservice teachers' views of the nature of science (NOS), their beliefs about the importance of NOS, as well as how these changes relate to their NOS teaching at the end of a science methods course guided by the reconceptualized family resemblance approach (RFN). College students who identify as a person of color and are also the first person in their family to attend college must navigate challenges related to white supremacy, institutional racism, and structural inequality. Though the amount of research on first-generation college students of color is steadily increasing, there remains a lack of research on the mental health of these students. Students lack literacy skills while entering the middle level grades, where reading is used as a tool for learning, rather than consistently taught through explicit instruction on the components of literacy. Reading interventions give students additional support and opportunities to improve their reading skills. This project argues for those intervention programs to be chosen based on specific qualities that are shown through research to make learning during interventions more impactful. This work is focused on the measurement and prevention of procrastination behavior among college level introductory physics students completing online assignments in the form of mastery-based online learning modules. The research is conducted in two studies. The first study evaluates the effectiveness of offering students the opportunity to earn a small amount of extra credit for completing portions of their homework early. Unsupervised machine learning is used to identify an optimum cutoff duration which differentiates taking a short break during a continuous study session from a long break between two different study sessions. The aim of this paper is to examine the impact of communication styles brought on by distanced learning and its effect on collaboration for school psychologists and Bord Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBAs). Prior studies have addressed collaboration habits between these school-based professionals. The current study aims to analyze the impact that COVID-19 had on these practitioners’ collaboration habits and to investigate their current communication and collaboration habits. This portfolio explores the reproduction of and challenges to dominant ideologies in popular culture and scholarly contexts and examines pedagogies for advancing social justice in the field of English studies through three distinct but interconnected projects. The first project considers pedagogy in the public sphere, examining the power of the meme genre to serve as “critical public pedagogy” within movements for social change. This qualitative study explores the lived experiences of preservice elementary teachers (PSETs) in a teacher preparation course and the factors that informed their science teacher identity. The theoretical framework used was phenomenology, and the study addresses under researched undergraduate preservice elementary teachers within teacher preparation courses with no teaching experience. Methods included participant survey, semi structured interviews, and a card sort activity. Analysis was conducted with basic statistical methods for the quantitative data, and coding followed by creating themes for the qualitative data. The purpose of this study was to determine instructional leaders and instructional faculty's knowledge of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports Framework as an intervention tool to support struggling students. The study analyzed instructional staff knowledge of the definition, purpose, and implementation of an MTSS Framework. This study also evaluated the extent to which school-based leadership utilizes MTSS data to inform decisions related to intervention around academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning. This study aimed to identify the level of achievement of female students in English language in public schools in Ramtha district from the teachers’ point of view. This study aimed to know the percentage of eating disorder, cyberbullying and the level of psychological distress among Jordanian university students It also aimed to know the percentage of the explained variation that is demonstrated by cyberbullying and psychological distress in their Bulimia Nervosa Disorder, and is it possible that this percentage varies according to gender variable. The study sample consisted of (988) male and female students enrolled in Jordanian universities. This study aimed to reveal the level of both psychological fragility and defense mechanisms among unmarried women, and the correlation between them. The study sample consisted of (216) unmarried women, who were chosen by the available method.
