The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe middle school teachers’ lived experiences with stress and coping post the COVID-19 pandemic. The theory guiding this study was Lazarus and Folkman’s transactional model of stress as it was developed to examine stress and coping factors in occupational environments, including educational settings. This theoretical approach helped to contextualize and bring developmental understanding to middle school teacher stress resulting from the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this quantitative, experimental, causal-comparative, posttest-only, control-group study is to determine if there is a difference in system enjoyment, effort expectancy, and performance expectancy for male and female employees aged 50 years or older at a corporate municipality in Ontario, Canada who participated in eLearning programs with and without game elements. The sample consisted of 38 male and 64 female employees aged 50 years or older who participated in eLearning and then completed an Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology questionnaire. Despite efforts to support teachers in successfully implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in the secondary music classroom, music educators still face challenges in differentiating instruction for each student with an IEP during secondary choral rehearsals. Legally, teachers must follow all accommodations outlined in a student’s IEP, and every student served by an IEP deserves equity in the classroom. This study examines the opinions of secondary choral educators in the State of Georgia regarding IEP implementation. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to explore and describe the experiences of Black American women in the Southeastern United States who endured adverse childhood experiences and whether historical intergenerational transmission of trauma (HITT) influenced the behavior of their primary caregivers. The problem was that the connection between Post traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS) and HITT had not been explored as it related to Black American women. This quantitative causal-comparative study examines the influence of parental satisfaction on school choice, parental involvement, and socioeconomic status in suburban, rural, and urban elementary schools. The Parent Involvement Satisfaction Survey (PISS) and the Parenting Satisfaction Scale (PSS) were administered to a purposive sample of parents (N = 126) from Texas public elementary schools through online surveys. The primary objective was to explore how parental satisfaction varies by community type (suburban, rural, or urban) and socioeconomic factors. The purpose of this quantitative, causal-comparative study was to determine the differences between a college student’s academic success based on campus involvement (low, medium, or high) and a student's socioeconomic status (low, medium, or high). This study employed quantitative causal-comparative methods to explore the impact of student characteristics on college transition and academic success. A successful high school-to-college transition was pivotal for overall achievement and degree pursuit. Focusing on 253 college students, the study examined links between socioeconomic background, on-campus involvement, and academic achievement. This dissertation investigates the impact of a project-based forensic science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) course that utilized social-emotional learning (SEL) as part of its curriculum design during an out-of-school time (OST) summer program designed for high school students on Chicago’s far Northwest side. Although Durlak et al. (2011) showed that SEL improves academic achievement and well-being, its intersection with STEM remains underexamined. This quantitative, predictive correlational study examined the association between empowerment factors and job satisfaction among elementary and secondary school teachers in rural and suburban public schools in the southeastern United States. Teachers who are satisfied in their jobs commit to the best interests of students, thereby positively impacting retention. The study consisted of a convenience sample of 129 elementary, middle, and high school teachers in a southeastern United States coastal area. First-generation college students (FGCS) often encounter greater challenges than their peers. Universities offer transition programs like bridge programs, orientations, and advising, but service gaps contribute to FGCS difficulties. Bridge programs are often implemented for specific student groups that the university believes to be at-risk or more vulnerable than their peers. Targeted students are asked to come to campus early for additional training, education, and advising. The purpose of this qualitative research study was to understand the experiences of six diverse families when Chicago Public Schools (CPS) failed to meet their children’s educational needs. The children attended grades k-8 in four Chicago neighborhoods. Nine family members from three generations were interviewed. They related school responses to their children’s behavior, and emphasized school failures and refusal to communicate with them and to provide and implement IEP and 504 Plans for their children. In response, family members advocated within and outside of CPS, searched for resources, used insider knowledge, bonded with other parents, and made major life changes. …

The purpose of this collective case study was to explore educators’ perceptions of the redesign of the Virginia Alternative Assessment Program (VAAP) for students with significant cognitive disabilities (SWSCD) at three schools in Virginia. This qualitative study uses a phenomenological design to answer the question: How do students and educators perceive the influence of gender on instrument choice, ensemble participation, and student socialization opportunities inherent to ensemble participation? Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) marching bands have been at the forefront of entertaining crowds at football games for many years, from the innovative techniques in marching and maneuvering to orchestral arrangements of classical to popular music that capture the hearts of all music enthusiasts. The goal of this phenomenological study is to describe African American Christian’s knowledge of mental health and mental health treatment. The goal is to explore more effective ways to increase African American Christians' awareness of mental illnesses and the use of mental health treatment. The research included 20 participants from the state of Texas. The theory leading this research is the self-labeling theory as it describes the connection between social networks and the utilization of mental health treatment.
