Type-2 Neutrosophic Numbers For Artificial Intelligence Software Choice For Cybersecurity Testing, O.M. Akash, We’Am Adel Talafha, Mamdouh Gomaa

Neutrosophic Systems with Applications

The choice of artificial intelligence (AI) software for cybersecurity testing is a multi-criteria decision-making approach (MCDM) due to it including different criteria. Evaluation decision making problems include uncertainty and vague information. So, the neutrosophic set is used in this study to overcome this uncertainty and vague information. It has three functions such as truth, indeterminacy, and falsity functions. Type-2 neutrosophic numbers is a type of neutrosophic set that includes nine membership functions. This study uses the average method of computing the criteria weights. The CoCoSo method is used to rank alternatives. Six experts and decision makers created the decision makers …

Neutrosophic Numbers For Selection Best Strategy For Dual Supply Chains With Green And Non-Green Products, Nada A. Nabeeh, Waleed Abd Elkhalik, Gawaher Soliman Hussein

Neutrosophic Systems with Applications

Dual supply chains with green and non-green products are an important aspect of supply chain management, which enable companies to balance traditional operations with ethical and eco-friendly practices to reduce carbon emissions. This study proposed a novel approach that combines the Probabilistic Simplified Neutrosophic Set (PSNS) with the Ranking of Alternatives Method (RAM) for the selection of best strategy selection for dual supply chains with green and non-green products. The novel approach uses PSNS as a representation of uncertainty, by incorporating probabilistic degrees of truth, indeterminacy, and falsity, which occurred in real life situations. Furthermore, RAM illustrates efficient ranking and …

Explicit Bounds And Parallel Algorithms For Counting Multiply Gleeful Numbers, Sara Moore, Jonathan P. Sorenson Jul 2025

Explicit Bounds And Parallel Algorithms For Counting Multiply Gleeful Numbers, Sara Moore, Jonathan P. Sorenson

Computer Science and Software Engineering

Let k ≥ 1 be an integer. A positive integer n is k-\textit{gleeful} if n can be represented as the sum of kth powers of consecutive primes. For example, 35=23+33 is a 3-gleeful number, and 195=52+72+112 is 2-gleeful. In this paper, we present some new results on k-gleeful numbers for k > 1.

First, we extend previous analytical work. For given values of x and k, we give explicit upper and lower bounds on the number of k-gleeful representations of integers n ≤ x.

Second, we describe and analyze two new, efficient parallel …

Ti-Ulpcs: Threshold-Issuance - Un-Linkable Policy Compliant Signatures, Kiran Deep Ghosh

Master’s Dissertations

Digital signatures, as a strong cryptographic primitive, ensure the authenticity and integrity of signed messages. On one hand, no one can forge a verifiable signature without knowing the secret key, on the other hand, any correctly formed signature is always verifiable under the public key of the signer. Besides signing digital data, they serve as foundational components in more advanced cryptographic systems, including blind signatures, group signatures, direct anonymous attestation, e-cash, e-voting protocols, adaptive oblivious transfer, anonymous credential schemes, Policy-Compliant Signatures, etc. Policy-Compliant Signatures (PCS) enable the enforcement of joint policies between the signer and the verifier. A signature of …

Zkipv: Zero-Knowledge Proofs For Image Provenance Verification, Bibek Ghosh

Master’s Dissertations

Recent advances in generative AI have significantly improved the ability to create photorealistic synthetic images, including so-called deepfakes, raising concerns about misinformation and the erosion of trust in digital media. Ensuring the integrity and authenticity of images, especially in sensitive domains like journalism, is thus increasingly critical. Existing solutions such as the C2PA (Content Provenance and Authenticity) framework provide origin verification through cameragenerated digital signatures, but fail to account for image modifications that invalidate these signatures. To address this limitation, we propose a zero-knowledge approach to verifiable image editing that preserves both integrity and privacy. This system, ZK-IPV, introduces a …

Approximating Data-Driven Combinatorial Search In The Feature Space: Pwfs, Mehmet Bugrahan Ayanoglu

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

This dissertation presents the development and application of a novel feature selection method, Probability Weighted Feature Selection (PWFS), designed to address key challenges in machine learning involving high-dimensional, noisy, or biased datasets. It is a comprehensive exploration of feature selection strategies to enhance the performance, interpretability, and practicality of machine learning models in both engineering systems and educational data mining. PWFS introduces a structured, probabilistic approach to feature selection that adaptively weights features based on their empirical contribution to model performance. This method not only accelerates convergence to near-optimal feature subsets but also enhances flexibility for ensemble learning by encouraging …

Integrating Recycled Acrylonitrile–Butadiene–Styrene Plastics From Electronic Waste With Carbon Black For Sustainable Asphalt Production, Sepehr Mohammadi, Dongzhao Jin, Zhanping You

Michigan Tech Publications

As the global demand for electronic equipment continues to grow, many devices are being replaced more frequently, resulting in a rapid rise in electronic waste (e-waste), now the fastest growing waste stream worldwide. Motivated by this, the objective of this study is to present an environmentally friendly method to recycle acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS), one of the most common e-waste plastics, by using it for asphalt production. In contrast to earlier methods of plastic-modified asphalt production involving complex pretreatments or complimentary additives unsuitable for plant-scale use, this study aims to demonstrate a practical, low-cost solution through the use of carbon black. This …

Efficient Simd Based Implementation Of Xoodyak, Soham Biswas

Master’s Dissertations

Modern computing devices—particularly in the domains of the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile computing, and embedded systems—often operate under severe resource constraints in terms of processing power, memory (RAM/ROM), bandwidth, and battery life. Devices such as IoT sensors, smart cards, medical implants, RFID tags, and wearable systems typically rely on low-power hardware, including 8-bit microcontrollers with only a few kilobytes of memory. Conventional cryptographic algorithms are frequently unsuitable for such environments, as they may consume excessive power, introduce unacceptable latency, or fail to execute altogether. Lightweight cryptography addresses these challenges by providing cryptographic primitives specifically designed to operate efficiently on …

The Monodromy Leak For A Generalized Montgomery Ladder, Arani Raychaudhuri Jul 2025

The Monodromy Leak For A Generalized Montgomery Ladder, Arani Raychaudhuri

Master’s Dissertations

The Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol using elliptic curves is the most wide-spread approach to the establishment of a secure internet connection. As an important subroutine, Alice and Bob need to perform multiplications of elliptic curve points by large scalars. The textbook method for scalar multiplication is the double-and-add algorithm. For the sake of efficiency, one usually performs x-coordinate only arithmetic using projective coordinates, and doubling-and-adding is done using the Montgomery ladder. The advantage of using projective coordinates is that this avoids costly field inversions at each iteration. However, when Alice (say) uses the double-and-add algorithm for computing her public key …

Machine Tool Interoperability In Smart Manufacturing And Industry 4.0, M. R. Mccormick, Mohammed Shafae, Thorsten Wuest

Faculty Publications

Real-time decision making is supported by data-hungry emerging technologies such as machine learning and digital twins. Innovations in manufacturing process control utilizing these technologies are constrained by interoperability. Marketing materials, sales pitches, and academic literature portray interoperability on the factory floor as seamless and robust. However, this study demonstrates that in spite of plentiful mature standards, interoperability on the factory floor is neither seamless nor robust. To exemplify interoperability in the context of an established and widely adopted standard, this study analyzes the interoperability of machine tools produced by a premier equipment builder which has exceeded US$1 billion in sales …

Participation Of Battery Energy Storage Systems In Load Frequency Control Of Power Systems, Zakaria Afsharbakeshloo Jul 2025

Participation Of Battery Energy Storage Systems In Load Frequency Control Of Power Systems, Zakaria Afsharbakeshloo

LSU Doctoral Dissertations

In this research, functionalities and roles of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESSs) in power systems are extended beyond primary frequency control (PFC). The BESSs, while participating in PFC, are controlled through charge controllers to first maintain their state-of-charge (SOC) within an acceptable range through a primary charge controller, and to recharge the BESS to its maximum SOC through a secondary charge controller. This forms a hierarchical frequency and SOC control of power grids with BESSs. In this regard, multiple BESS case is considered as well, and by employing the SOC balancing principle, it is shown that desired power sharing among …

Ergonomic And Biomechanical Assessment Of Vertical Ladder Climbing For Exoskeleton Integration In Construction Tasks, Ehsan Shourangiz Jul 2025

Ergonomic And Biomechanical Assessment Of Vertical Ladder Climbing For Exoskeleton Integration In Construction Tasks, Ehsan Shourangiz

LSU Master's Theses

Active exoskeletons are increasingly utilized in physically demanding industries such as construction and manufacturing to reduce strain and lower the risk of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, supporting worker safety and long-term health. However, most existing systems are designed for repetitive tasks like lifting or prolonged standing, with limited consideration for dynamic activities such as vertical ladder climbing. Ladder climbing is common and physically demanding in industrial environments, often required to access elevated areas like scaffolding, tanks, or rooftops. Since exoskeletons are intended to remain worn throughout multiple tasks, requiring workers to remove and re-don the device during ladder climbing would reduce …

Corrosion Behavior Of Mgtizn And Mg4tizn Alloys After Ball Milling And Subsequent Spark Plasma Sintering, Alexander Helmer, Rahul Agrawal, Manoj Mugale, Tushar Borkar, Rajeev Gupta

Mechanical Engineering Faculty Publications

Magnesium-containing multi-principal element alloys (MPEAs) are promising for lightweight applications due to their low density, high specific strength, and biocompatibility. This study examines two Mg-Ti-Zn alloy compositions, equal molar MgTiZn (TZ) and Mg4TiZn (4TZ), synthesized via ball milling followed by spark plasma sintering, focusing on their microstructures and corrosion behaviors. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy revealed the formation of intermetallic phases, including Ti2Zn and Mg21Zn25 in TZ, while 4TZ exhibited a predominantly Mg-rich phase. Potentiodynamic polarization and immersion tests in 0.1 M NaCl solution showed that both alloys had good corrosion resistance, with values of 3.65 +/- 0.65 mu …

In The Shadow Of Prompts: Adversarial Attacks And Model Cloning In Large Language Models, Kanchon Gharami

Doctoral Dissertations and Master's Theses

Large-language models (LLMs) already power mission critical tasks such as command-and-control chat, satellite ground-station automation, military analytics, and cyber-defense. Since most of these services are offered through application programming interfaces (APIs) that still expose full or top-k logits and lack mature safeguards, they present a serious, often overlooked attack surface. Earlier work has shown how to rebuild the output projection layer or distill surface behavior, but no attack has produced a deployable clone within a tight query budget. In this thesis, we address this problem by presenting a practical pipeline for cloning LLMs under constrained settings. The approach first estimates …

Oscillatory Flow Improves Hydrodynamic Ordering Of Soft Suspensions In Rectangular Channels, Paul C. Millett Jul 2025

Oscillatory Flow Improves Hydrodynamic Ordering Of Soft Suspensions In Rectangular Channels, Paul C. Millett

Mechanical Engineering Faculty Publications and Presentations

A computational study is presented that examines the hydrodynamic ordering of soft-particle suspensions within rectangular channels undergoing both steady and oscillatory flow. In these conditions, particles assemble into one-dimensional train-like configurations aligned in the flow direction. The results indicate that oscillatory flow facilitates a significant improvement in the ordering process, particularly for the assembly of multiple side-by-side trains within the channel. Several key parameters are systematically varied, including the Wolmersley number (Wo) representing the oscillatory frequency, the capillary number (Ca) representing the particle deformability, and the particle volume fraction (phi). It is found that optimal ordering occurs for a particular …

Unified Hybrid Censoring Samples From Power Pratibha Distribution And Its Applications, Mahmoud Mansour, Hebatalla H. Mohammad Dr, Khalaf S. Sultan Prof. Jul 2025

Unified Hybrid Censoring Samples From Power Pratibha Distribution And Its Applications, Mahmoud Mansour, Hebatalla H. Mohammad Dr, Khalaf S. Sultan Prof.

Basic Science Engineering

This paper suggests an extensive inferential method for the Power Pratibha Distribution (PPD) under Unified Hybrid Censoring Schemes (UHCSs), since there is a growing interest in flexible models in both reliability and service operations. This work studies the PPD model using standard Maximum Likelihood Estimation methods and modern Bayesian approaches too. Using a complex architecture, UHCS simulates tests more closely to what is done in practice than by using more basic censoring schemes. Using analysis, the probability and statistical ranges are carefully calculated for the parameters. Tests demonstrate that Bayesian estimation gives better results than many other methods for estimation, …

Magnetic Field Enabled Assembly And Propulsion Of Colloidal Particles In A Magnetic Medium, Hashir M. Gauri Jul 2025

Magnetic Field Enabled Assembly And Propulsion Of Colloidal Particles In A Magnetic Medium, Hashir M. Gauri

LSU Doctoral Dissertations

Colloidal particles are nano/micro meter-sized particles dispersed in a fluid medium and serve as diverse building blocks for assembling complex structures. The ease of tunability of the shape, size, and interparticle interactions of colloidal particles facilitates their assembly into rich structures and phases that mirror the assembly process of atomic systems. Often regarded as "big atoms" colloidal particles provide an ideal model system for investigating complex phenomena in condensed matter, such as crystallization and nucleation. While the assembly of colloids under thermodynamic equilibrium has been extensively studied, recent interest has shifted toward exploring colloids in non-equilibrium conditions to create dynamic …

Edge-Streamer: A Lightweight, Self-Supervised Event Segmentation Model, Lucas Miller Jul 2025

Edge-Streamer: A Lightweight, Self-Supervised Event Segmentation Model, Lucas Miller

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Event segmentation is the practice of autonomously detecting the boundaries of semantically connected sequences of actions within a video. It is connected to many areas of computer vision, including action recognition and event understanding. Nearly all current work requires the entire video to be stored in memory to be processed in multiple passes. This takes up valuable resources, increases processing time, prevents the use of low-power, low-memory devices, and precludes long-form content and live videos from undergoing event segmentation.

This thesis introduces EDGE-STREAMER, a real-time, lightweight, self-supervised, transformer architecture capable of performing event segmentation in a single pass. EDGE-STREAMER uses …
