Finding out the development characteristics of coal seam fractures is of great significance for coalbed methane exploitation and safe production of underground coal mines. Logging and seismic are effective means of geophysical identification of coal seam fractures. Electrical imaging, resistivity, density, sonic differential time, natural gamma, neutron porosity and array acoustic logs are used to describe the small scale fracture morphology of No.8 and No.9 coal seams of MG block in the eastern margin of Ordos Basin. Supercritical CO2 can destroy the molecular structure of coal and increase the production of biomethane. To investigate the gas production potential under the in-situ conditions of coal reservoirs with the participation of supercritical CO2, the original reservoir pressure, reservoir temperature, and gas composition of the target coal seam in a coalbed methane block in Xinjiang were used as the in-situ reservoir conditions. Background: The remote delivery and monitoring of individually-tailored exercise programs using voice-controlled intelligent personal assistants (VIPAs) that support conversation-based interactions may be an acceptable alternative model of digital health delivery for older adults. Cu – 10 wt% Sn (Cu–10Sn) alloy specimens were additively manufactured by varying the laser powder bed fusion (LBPF) processing parameters, e.g., laser power (200–350 W) and laser scan speed (100–1400 mm/s) at a fixed hatch spacing (0.12 mm) and slice thickness (0.03 mm), to examine their effects on the density, melt pool structure, and microstructure. Microstructural characteristics of the most dense sample were examined using electron microscopy (SEM, TEM) and X-ray Diffraction. A moment-resisting, beam-column connection for mass timber moment frames was developed, designed and tested. The design was intended to limit damage to the timber members by creation of a ductile failure mechanism in steel U-shaped flexural plates (UFPs). Using design equations developed by previous research on UFPs by Baird, et al. (2014) as well as accepted design practices from the NDS and AISC, the components were sized to eliminate failure in the timber. Many avenues exist to insert malicious circuitry into an FPGA designs, including compromised CAD tools, overwriting bitstream files, and post-deployment attacks. The proprietary nature of the Xilinx bitstreams precludes the ability to validate an implemented design. This thesis introduces the BitRec and IPRec projects in an effort to support trojan detection tools. BitRec provides a novel approach to mapping of the Xilinx bitstream format into FPGA features in order to recreate the original design's netlist. The traditional RRT algorithm has the problems of low node utilization and large amount of calculation. Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is a toxin produced by cyanobacteria that can bloom in freshwater supplies. This study describes a new strategy for remediation of MC-LR that combines linearization of the toxin using microcystinase A, MlrA, enzyme with rejection of linearized byproducts using membrane filtration. The MlrA enzyme was expressed in Escherichia coli (E. coli) and purified via a His-tag with 95% purity. Additionally, composite membranes made of 95% polysulfone and 5% sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) were fabricated and used to filter a solution containing cyclic and linearized MC-LR. Artificial intelligence based chemistry models are a promising method of exploring chemical reaction design spaces. However, training datasets based on experimental synthesis are typically reported only for the optimal synthesis reactions. This leads to an inherited bias in the model predictions. Therefore, robust datasets that span the entirety of the solution space are necessary to remove inherited bias and permit complete training of the space. In this study, an artificial intelligence model based on a Variational AutoEncoder (VAE) has been developed and investigated to synthetically generate continuous datasets. Emissions from the aviation industry have increased significantly over the decades and may continue to pose an environmental threat. Accordingly, efforts are being made to replace conventional aviation fuels with more sustainable alternatives that can both reduce net CO2 emissions as well as reduce other pollutants (i.e., particulates).
