Greater use of locally available supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) to reduce cement content and addition of fiber reinforcement can enhance the performance of 3D printing (3DP) technology in construction. In this study, three classes of eco-friendly 3D printable fiber-reinforced mixtures were targeted, namely ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), high-performance concrete (HPC), and conventional concrete (CC). A step-by-step methodology was proposed to maximize the substitution rate of cement with SCM and limestone filler and optimize fiber volume for the successful development of 3D printable fiber-reinforced materials. The abort mission refers to the mission where the landing vehicle needs to terminate the landing mission when an anomaly happens and be safely guided to the desired orbit. This paper focuses on solving the time-optimal abort guidance (TOAG) problem in real-time via the feature-based learning method. First, according to the optimal control theory, the features are identified to represent the optimal solutions of TOAG using a few parameters. Climate change education is crucial for fostering informed and engaged future generations. However, traditional pedagogies often fail to engage learners fully and provide real-world, experiential learning. This paper presents a novel approach to climate change education through a three-day virtual reality (VR) hackathon. The hackathon focused on four United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—Quality Education, Affordable and Clean Energy, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Climate Action. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-destructive, non-invasive, and non-radioactive imaging technique used for reconstructing the internal conductivity distribution of a sensing domain. Performing EIT often requires large, stationary benchtop equipment that can be expensive and impractical. Other researchers have attempted to make portable EIT systems, but they all rely on external computation for image reconstruction/data analysis. This study outlines the development of a low-cost, portable, and wireless EIT data acquisition (DAQ) system that is capable of independently performing image reconstructions on-board. In 2014 the Thermo Scientific N2 electronic personal dosimeter became the aircrews’ sole means to record ionizing radiation dose. The production of this dosimeter was discontinued in July of 2021, motivating the Air Force to seek a flight-certifiable replacement. The Thermo Scientific Trudose NG, Mirion DMC 3000, and Fuji NRF-51 electronic personal dosimeters, as well as the Landauer InLight optically stimulated luminescent dosimeter, were subjected to mixed gamma and fast neutron fields simulating a high-altitude flight environment. Dosimeters are evaluated on their consistency and accuracy in reporting dose and compared to the current N2 dosimeter’s reported dose.

The variation in electron density within the lowest echelon of the ionosphere, the D-region, can significantly impact HF signals, making communication inconsistent and unreliable for these wavelengths. This study evaluates the yield behavior of additively manufactured Ti-6-4 specimens in combined loading. Specimens were probed for yield across multiple load combinations along a given yield surface, holding pin one mode while applying load increments in the other mode until yield was detected. In combined loading, the yield surfaces across varied print parameters showed statistically significant, but negligible differences. This research sought to characterize the yield behavior across print parameters with the goal of increasing manufacturability. In this work, a Newtonian aerodynamic model was developed for an elliptic cone glide geometry at a variety of angles of attack, and a functional relationship between an input angle of attack and the vehicle lift and drag coefficients was developed. This model was used in a direct orthogonal collocation framework to simulate a series of boost-glide trajectories, with objectives of minimum distance to target, minimum time to target, and maximum velocity to target. This research explores the effectiveness of predicting composite failure subject to quasi-static loading conditions using computational methods. FEA models were created using Abaqus and were employed to predict composite yield and initial failure behavior. Boundary conditions are generated to replicate the loading scenario seen in the experimental tests. Computationally predicted structural response of the composite range in accuracy from a 2% difference compared to experimental values to a maximum of 63%.

Commercial-grade silicon-based solar cells have an efficiency in the 20-30% range. The addition of a non-uniform magnetic field manipulates the movement of charge carriers within the silicon of a solar cell. With this manipulation, one hypothesis is that the magnetic field increases the current produced by the solar cell which helps to increase the power and efficiency of the solar cell. This thesis documents the design, construction and testing of a bench-top level measurement system and verifies previously established Dropped Channel Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar Compressive Sensing (DCPCS) simulation results. Compressive Sensing is a mathematical technique which can capture and represent compressible signals at sampling rates significantly below the Nyquist rate. DCPCS is a technique which enhances Compressive Sensing techniques using known physical antenna crosstalk values. The DCPCS technique enables reconstruction of fully polarimetric signals whilst only measuring part of the signal, reducing data capture requirements.

A theory is presented for the extraction of the complete set of material parameters for a bi-anisotropic sample consisting of conductive omega-type particles governed by the mm21′ point-group symmetry. A rectangular-to-square wave-guide can be used to obtain the required measurements by allowing three distinct orientations of the material. The focus of this work is to develop the appropriate theory detailing the derivation of how the material parameters are extracted from the measurements in an analytical methodology that is similar in manner to the well-known Nicolson-Ross-Weir (NRW) algorithm.

2033 Digital Modernization At Usmepcom: A Strategic Analysis Of Future Military Applicant Processing, William A. Clay

This research examines the projected 2033 applicant processing scenario considering the digital modernization efforts of the United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM). The study evaluates the necessary modifications to current processes, with a particular focus on the influence of two key information technology systems, the MEPCOM Integrated Resource System (MIRS) 1.1 and the Military Health System (MHS) Genesis, on manpower at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). In doing so, the study establishes baseline processing metrics for assessing these impacts.
