The original concept of this problem was to determine if hidden or buried placers existed past the terminal point of the extensive placering in the Siberia District. Several theories have been advanced for the sudden cessation of those placers. All are plausible, and are both for and against an extended placer. The past history relates that some $13,000,000 in gold has been produced in the area, therefore stressing a practical search for additional accumulation.

Leaching As A Method Of Mining Uranium, Rob L. Kane

This paper presents a new method of recovering uranium ores from the earth. By sinking drill holes into ore bearing beds, aqueous leach solutions can be circulated through the ores. Solutions of sulfuric acid, potassium carbonate and many other available reagents will put the ions of uranium and vanadium into the liquid leach. The pregnant solutions are then pumped to the surface so a recovery of the valuable portion of the ore can be made.

In the following material I have attempted to collect and compile all available information on mechanical shaft mucking, to compare and contrast the different methods and to trace their development through to the latest innovation. This development of the investigation is purposely being used to lead to a new method which will be discussed hypothetically as a conclusion to the paper.

The Wrong Front claim lies west of Butte near Nissler Junction. It is owned by Thomas J. Helehan of Butte. The deposit is epithermal and lies within the Boulder Batholith. The host rocks are granite, alaskite and andesite with granite being the most prominent host rock.

The now increasing importance of tungsten as a metal with desirable properties in high strength and high temperature resisting alloy steels, coupled with the recent discoveries of low-grade tungsten ore deposits in Montana, has spurred a search for suitable and economical methods of treating tungsten ores of the State. This search has been conducted on a variety of tungsten ores and the present work is rather an aspect of the whole tungsten beneficiation problem in Montana.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the transient behavior of a simple constant-K distributed amplifier stage. The derivation of the transfer function is carried out using the Laplace Transform for the case where losses in the lines are considered to be zero. The various characteristics of the amplifier response to a unit step function are discussed and the effects of losses and other modifying factors upon the idealized response are evaluated. Finally design procedures are derived which allow the circuit designer to determine the circuit parameters necessary for good transient responses. These procedures are applied to the design …

Located on the western flank of the Boulder batholith of southwestern Montana, the mineralized breccia "pipe" is opened by the Obelisk Mine. The intersection of two fault systems in the quartz monzonite of the Boulder batholith has provided the locus of the breccia "pipe". There is fairly conclusive evidence indicating that the present outcrop of the "pipe" lies only a few hundred feet below the former "roof" of the batholith.

Oil was discovered in the Pondera field in June 1927 following work done by E.B. Emrick. The initial discovery well, located in section 17, T. 27 N., R. 4 W., was not a commercial oil producer. Its initial production being 3 barrels of oil and 3,500,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Rapid expansion followed until 1929, when the field reached its peak of production.

Field irrigation efficiency is the percentage of the water delivered to the field that becomes available to the crop as soil moisture. The so-called "evaporation losses" from wetted ground and foliage are rather difficult to measure, but are estimated by Christiansen (3) to be between 15 and 30 percent. No doubt part of this may be termed as a "loss," but the other part may be incorrectly termed as such. Many authorities claim that water must pass through the plant before being transpired into the atmosphere to be effectively used.
