A stacked beacon turbulence profiling methodology has been introduced and applied to have increased profiling on the Turbulence and Aerosol Research and Investigation System (TARDIS). The model was derived and demonstrated the applicability through discussion on data processing and inversion processes. The methodology was applied for two different nighttime experiments, one in Summer and one in Fall. C 2 n profiles were derived into the 1300 m altitude ranges for both nights and the summer experiment was compared to a co-located DELTA Sky measurements and LEEDR generated Climatological profiles. Various software systems have been developed to aid a systems engineer in evaluating system requirements, such as Dassault’s Magic System of Systems Architect (MSOSA) and MathWorks’ Simulink. Both software packages have different strengths; therefore, it is beneficial to export models from one software package to another. MSOSA provides a built-in tool that facilitates this transfer, built upon the Extension for Physical Interaction and Signal Flow Simulation (SysPhS) standard. Data exploitation techniques are the enabler for technological advancements in military ISR applications of ladar ISR. By identifying instances of military objects in observed scenes, point cloud deep learning models can unlock new standards of real-time information delivery to warfighters. Although current deep learning training datasets do not include real-world collection occlusions consistent with military applications, this research characterizes SPT model performance by adding occlusions to the DALESObjects dataset via artificial flyby simulations.We find that a baseline model trained on unoccluded data suffers performance degradation on both semantic and instance segmentation tasks when evaluated on occluded data, but that the …

This thesis involves theoretical and numerical analysis of trajectories off of cislunar orbits to determine the reachability and escape of various impulsive Δv. The research will propagate trajectories using three body dynamics from various orbit families around the Earth-Moon Lagrange points and find low energy transfers that escape the Earth-Moon system. In order to achieve this, various different nonlinear programming solvers in MATLAB will be used to explore low energy impulsive escape transfers from common cislunar orbit families given long periods of computation time. Previous studies used scientometric methods to assess the current impact of CEM publications; however, there is a need to predict future citations of CEM publications to identify the expected high-impact trends in the future and guide new research efforts. These systems let employees quickly access safety and health policies, procedures, training, responsibilities, resources, and incident reporting tools, often electronically. Instituting a SMS is a critical step in adopting a proactive, data-driven approach to organizational safety. Aerobic exercise has been shown to have established benefits on motor function in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the impact of exercise on depressive symptoms in PD remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of regular exercise, specifically using a forced running wheel, on both motor performance and the prevalence of depression in a unilateral 6-OHDA-lesioned rat model of PD. The behavioral outcomes of exercise were assessed through the rotarod test (RT), forelimb adjusting step test (FAST), sucrose consumption test (SCT), and novelty sucrose splash test (NSST). Vivaldi antennas, invented in 1978 by Peter Gibson, have been widely adopted for radar applications due to their high bandwidth and gain performance. In this paper, to the best of our knowledge, a new
type of hollow-core anti-resonant fiber (HC-ARF) design using
hybrid silica/high-index material (HIM) cladding is presented
for single-polarization, high-birefringence, and endlessly single-
mode operation at 2 μm wavelength. We show that the inclusion
of a HIM layer in the cladding allows strong suppression of
𝑥−polarization, while maintaining low propagation loss and
single-mode propagation for 𝑦−polarization. The optimized HC-
ARF design includes a combination of low propagation loss,
high-birefringence, and polarization-extinction ratio (PER) or
loss ratio of 0.02 dB/m, 1.2×10−4, and >550 respectively, while the

In addition to electric vehicle (EV) adoption, the electricity demand of the modern grid is also under change from the replacement of resistive electric water heaters (EWHs) with high-efficiency heat pump electric water heaters (HPWH). Typical load of a HPWH has two parts: a low power compressor and a backup high power resistive boosting element. The need to reduce the effects of climate change has been increasing. One of the pathways to answer such a need is green construction. Hybrid wood–soil (HWS) structures are eco-friendly in addition to being cost-effective. Within this study, a single-storey building has been architecturally and structurally designed and tested. A conventional reinforced concrete (RC) structural system was designed and considered as a control case to be compared to the design at hand, which is an HWS system incorporating locally cultivated Casuarina Glauca wood and an in situ earth-based mixture.
