Background Helium, with advantages such as stable chemical properties and high thermal conductivity, has been extensively applied in high-tech sectors like national defense, military, aviation, and aerospace, playing an irreplaceable role. Presently, helium in China is primarily imported from other countries, manifesting a high degree of dependence on foreign trade, suggesting a prominent issue concerning helium resource security. Objective Closed-loop heat extraction technology, which extracts geothermal energy without draining geothermal water, has emerged as a research focus in geothermal energy exploitation. Nuclear hybrid energy systems (NHES) have the potential to provide dependable and emission-free electricity to the grid while also increasing the flexibility and reliability of the electrical grid. Distracted driving is a hazardous behavior responsible for 25% of all fatal traffic crashes in New Jersey. While traditional methods such as surveys, videos, and simulations have been used to identify and evaluate distracted driving events, these approaches primarily provide cross-sectional data that fails to capture the true rate of distraction on the road. This study addresses this limitation by collecting longitudinal data on distracted driving events across selected corridors in New Jersey. This research introduces a novel method for evaluating the structural features of biomolecules, utilizing our innovative Elliptical Dichroism (ED) spectrometer specifically designed for stereochemical analysis. By integrating ED spectrometry with autocorrelation (AC) analysis, we investigate the conformational characteristics of biological molecules such as amino acids, proteins, and extracellular vesicles (EVs) induced by elliptically polarized UV absorption. Our streamlined approach offers a cost-effective and portable solution with minimal sample consumption and supports multiple working modes to efficiently characterize biomolecular structures. The insight from this new approach demonstrates potential applications in using biomolecular characterization for cancer detection.

We are considering a novel method for analyzing time series data that relies on quasi-linear recurrence relations. Unlike neural networks, this approach allows for directly formulating high-quality quasi-linear difference equations that accurately represent the studied process. Techniques for determining the parameters of a single equation have been devised and validated. This work discusses and tests a technique for identifying the parameters of a quasi-linear recurrence equation. This approach is employed to tackle the issue of regression analysis including observable variables that are mutually dependent. Hydrogels are soft, highly hydrated polymeric networks commonly used as biomaterial scaffolds in tissue engineering. To mimic the extracellular matrix of tissues, hydrogels can be chemically modified to incorporate either bioactive molecules such as peptides, or physically modified with crosslinkers to alter hydrogel stiffness and degradation. Hydrogel-based radiation dosimeters are used to calibrate and validate radiation delivered by linear accelerators used in radiotherapy. Specifically, Fricke hydrogel-based dosimeters containing ferrous ion complexes oxidize upon exposure to radiation, leading to a change in optical density that can be measured via a color change in a photometric reagent. While gelatin-based Fricke hydrogels are routinely used to measure radiation, these hydrogels are unstable at body temperature, and it is currently not possible to noninvasively measure radiation dose inside a patient. This study presents an Auto-Encoder Convolutional Neural Network (AECNNs) approach for anomaly detection in high-dimensional datasets. Unsupervised learning-based algorithms have a strong theoretical foundation and are widely used for anomaly detection in high-dimensional datasets, but some limitations significantly reduce their performance. This study proposes an algorithm to address these limitations. The proposed AECNN combines various convolutional layers, feature extraction, dimensionality reduction, and data preprocessing and was evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. Irrigation can be a large contributor to energy consumption on an irrigated farm. It is important to understand factors that impact irrigation energy use and to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption.
