The primary goal of secondary education is preparing students for post-secondary success in an evolving global economy. Work-Based Learning (WBL) serves as a critical bridge between academic instruction and real-world application, yet participation rates remain low, particularly for marginalized student populations. This educational leadership project examines the impact of WBL on post-secondary readiness, addressing the disparity between federal policy mandates, such as the Carl D. Perkins Act, and actual student access.

This article outlines guiding principles for teaching “difficult pasts”—episodes of large-scale, identity-based violence such as genocide, crimes against humanity, colonialism, and enslavement—in ways that promote peace, human rights, and the prevention of future atrocities. This paper presents a Fuzzy-SPT (Fuzzy Set-Point Tracking) controller designed to combine the strengths of FLC (Fuzzy Logic Control) and PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control while mitigating their limitations across varying operating conditions. Inspired by state-dependent reasoning but implemented within a single controller, the method uses internal logic to adapt the control effort across different operating regions. FLC handles rapid changes and nonlinear transients, enabling fast system response without overshoot, while PID-like integral action is activated when the FLC reaches steady state or enters a threshold region near the set point, eliminating residual errors and maintaining stable performance. A case study was conducted at a private institution of higher education to gain a deeper understanding of the factors that support student veterans, a nontraditional student demographic in a private institution of higher education. The article explains the interplay and relationship between what nontraditional students bring to the academic experience, the role of educators, and factors contributing to or detracting from their success in higher education. Analysis of key issues related to combat student veterans in higher education revealed common themes and contextual information from which the lessons learned were developed. Thailand’s time-based education system still faces limitations in developing 21st Century skills and misalignment with labor market demands. This article analyzes the development of a competency-based curriculum (CBC) through case studies of Thailand, Singapore, Germany, and South Korea, aiming to propose guidelines for enhancing high-skilled labor that corresponds to the needs of the industrial sectors. The study reveals that Thailand has CBC pilot projects such as Work-integrated Learning (WiL), Skill-Mapping, and Higher Education Sandbox. This action research aims to examine a contemplative facilitation process that fosters self-awareness among the elderly. The participants were 10 elderly people from a Social Welfare Development Center for Older Persons in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Qualitative data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews, and data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results revealed that the developed contemplative facilitation process, grounded in mindfulness cultivation, observation of the body, emotions, and thoughts, and deep listening, comprised eight activity sessions incorporating art-based activities and nature-connected practices. This pre-experimental research aimed to 1) examine the effects of phonics-based instruction combined with reading skill exercises on Thai reading skills of third-grade students, and 2) investigate the learning process and factors contributing to the success of this instructional approach. This study examines the governance of basic education access for Indonesian Migrant Workers’ children in Sabah and Sarawak by focusing on the roles of multi-actors involved in service provision. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and document analysis, the study finds that the operation of Community Learning Centers is highly dependent on the interaction between the Malaysian government as the licensing authority, plantation companies as facility providers and funders, and the Indonesian government through Atdikbud, KJRI/KRI, and SIKK as facilitators of educational diplomacy and the roles of PMI communities. The data used is the Scopus database for the last 10 years. Research findings found that there were 4302 documents that met the specified criteria. The number of online counseling studies increased gradually over the 2013-2022 research period. The largest source of documents comes from 3691 articles. Employing the Lakoff and Johnson's framework of Conceptual Metaphor Theory, the study analyzes and compares conceptual metaphors in economic news headlines from CNBC Indonesia and China Business Network published between January and April 2025. This article describes the development of a 45-minute autobiographical performance from its initial creation in 2017 through its evolutionary journey to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, and beyond. The creative process is presented from the perspective of both the performer and the director-coach, and brings together the worlds of education and theatre. This essay explores the experience of implementing podcast-based assessment in ‘Feeling History, Making History,’ a semester-long course at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa. The course is designed to cultivate broad-based critical and interdisciplinary skill sets in first-year Humanities students. Through pedagogical reflection across three consecutive iterations of this course, we investigate how creative assessment practices such as podcasting both enabled our students to bring their whole “selves” into the academy and productively challenged our own preconceived notions about effective, decolonial pedagogy.
