Structural And Semantic Analysis Of Copulative Compound Words In The Pashto Language, O'G'Iljon Shuxrat Qizi Abduvaliyeva
The Light of Islam
The question of word formation, particularly the studying the ways of copulative compound words’ formation based on modern methods, remains contemporary linguistics’ one of the urgent problems. The relevance of this issue is increasing, especially for less-studied languages such as the Pashto language, since the language’s vocabulary is constantly enriching under modern requirements. Since the lexical fund of language is dynamic, it is always essential to study the processes synchronously. English, Russian, Afghan and Uzbek linguists have carried out several works on the grammar of the Pashto language on various topics. But it is hard to find a place where …

How Can Assessment For Learning Be Useful For Self-Regulated Learning?: Four Approaches To Change Of Assessment Conceptions From Individualistic To Contextualistic, Kohei Nishizuka
Pedagogy and the Human Sciences
Critics argue that theoretical frameworks for assessment for learning (AfL) and self-regulated learning (SRL) are sociocultural practices reliant on others/mediating artifacts than on individual psychological operations. However, if the broader context of learning is neglected, the developmental model for fostering evaluative judgment cannot cope well with the contextual complexity of the formal and informal aspects of learning. How students perceive assessment is strongly related to their learning outcomes as it represents how much they harbor a spirit of improvement, social stress, and cooperative efficacy. Focusing on the assessment conceptions can help us reconsider the purpose and function of AfL and …

Evaluating Educational Efficiency In Texas Public Schools Utilizing Data Envelopment Analysis, Jeremy Thompson, J. Kenneth Young, Kaye Shelton
School Leadership Review
Policymakers and professional educators attempt to be good stewards of public funds while simultaneously raising expectations for student outcomes that reflect academic excellence in the public school system. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of Texas public school districts and the factors influencing the inefficiency of districts. This study is a replication of a similar efficiency study conducted by Carter (2012), which considered student performance in the 2009-10 school year on the TAKS tests. This study utilized quantitative research methods to gather data and implemented data envelopment analysis (DEA) to calculate a relative efficiency score for …
