The Reality Of Employing Artificial Intelligence Applications In Teaching Mathematics Among Male And Female Mathematics Teachers In The Second Cycle Of Basic Education In The Sultanate Of Oman, Wedad Rajab Al Mukhini, Prof. Mamoon M. Al-Shannaq

International Journal for Research in Education

This study examined the use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in mathematics teaching in the second cycle of basic education in the Sultanate of Oman. A descriptive–analytical design was employed, and the study involved 244 mathematics teachers from South Al Sharqiyah Governorate. A 46-item instrument comprising four domains was developed, and its validity and reliability were verified using appropriate statistical procedures. The findings indicated that the overall level of AI application use in mathematics teaching was moderate. The domains of perceived importance and teachers’ knowledge of AI applications showed relatively low levels, whereas the perceived level of challenges was moderate. …

As Extension faces a retention crisis, it is crucial to focus on the health of our organizations. A collaborative working group, comprised of evaluation and staff development specialists across multiple states, identified the need for a free, accessible organizational health evaluation tool for Extension. Many higher education institutions cannot afford consultants to assess organizational well-being and effectiveness yet need the data the evaluation would provide. This article highlights a validated survey instrument, the Organizational Health Inventory–Extension (OHI-EXT), designed to help Extension organizations identify issues and implement targeted interventions that foster a stable and engaged workforce.

Designing With, Not For Youth: Reframing Participatory Techniques As Civic Learning Tools For Urban Greening And Natural Resources Programming, Mayra I Rodriguez Gonzalez, Dorelys Oyola Remigio, Kevin G Torres Garrido

Here, we present four participatory techniques—visioning, mapping, photovoice, and codesign—with practical recommendations for their effective implementation in fostering civic learning and engagement in urban greening among BIPOC and Hispanic youth. With examples of culturally responsive, hands-on activities and an AI-assisted synthesis of youth ideas, drawn from application with over 100 youth in Connecticut, we illustrate their use in informing local urban planning processes. We highlight the role of these techniques in positioning youth as active civic agents and collaborative designers in the creation of urban green spaces, with application for Extension professionals, educators, and planning officials.

Capturing Your Environment (CYE) is an environmental education framework that engages youth in place-based climate exploration. CYE was implemented with youth participating in a Milwaukee summer internship program funded by the Children, Youth, and Families at Risk (CYFAR) Sustainable Community Projects grant. The primary objective of CYE was to create an engaging climate-centered experience for youth. The experience aimed to improve science efficacy, climate content knowledge, science skills, and confidence using scientific tools. A paired t-test compared the learners' pre- and post-experience responses on a 16-item self-report survey. Following participation in CYE, youth reported increases across all measured outcomes.

This institutional ethnography exploration begins with the standpoint of educators and focuses on the work related to ways students in Sweden exit the separate compulsory school for students with intellectual disability (CSID) and re-enter the regular compulsory school form through a student referral unit (SRU). By exploring what appears to puzzle the education system at the local level, this study contributes to a growing body of research on addressing multilingualism as a disability. This brief proposes an outcomes-oriented affirmative-action framework to accelerate women’s participation and leadership across India’s higher education and STEM pipeline, aligning national priorities for a “Self-reliant India” (Atmanirbhar Bharat) with the United Nation’s SDG-5 (gender equality). Near-parity in overall HE enrolment contrasts with women’s underrepresentation in engineering/technology programmes, research roles, and senior faculty positions as revealed by the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) (Department of Science & Technology, n.d.-a; Ministry of Education, 2020; Sahay, 2022). This article describes how I prepared newcomer Yemeni students to visit, understand, and learn from museums while also strengthening their English language development and cultural identity. Many students had limited English proficiency; however, they brought rich personal, family, and cultural knowledge into the classroom. To build on those strengths, I used literacy-based activities before, during, and after museum visits. These activities included shared and independent reading with e-books, pre-assessment charts, vocabulary development, guided discussions, reflective writing, collage-making, and student-led decision-making. Each strategy helped students practice English in meaningful ways while connecting museum content to memory, immigration, history, culture, and identity. …

This study, comparing the literacy practices of fathers with young children in China and the United States, explores cultural patterns of paternal family literacy engagement. The worsening mental health epidemic among college students is marked by significant risk for loneliness, anxiety, and depression. Given that the demand for mental health care is outpacing institutional capacity, creative solutions are needed to augment traditional reactive interventions. In this qualitative research, we used narrative case study to explore the transformative power of community mural-making as experiential learning. Drawing on Seligman’s PERMA model (positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, accomplishment) we investigated how creative expression can cultivate positive psychological states to help students flourish (1991; 2011; 2018). Students in higher education are often uncertain about which uses of generative AI are acceptable, and that uncertainty causes stress and inadvertent breaches. Permission scales describe intended use but are hard to enforce in unsupervised work: compliance rests on honest disclosure, and enforcement rests on detection, which is unreliable. This paper proposes a structural alternative organised around one question: was AI present when the assessed work was produced? Presence is defined by opportunity, which design controls. Research assessment is often viewed as a technical process for evaluating research performance. However, assessment systems also function as institutional mechanisms that shape incentives, influence researcher behaviour and help determine which activities are recognized and rewarded within the research ecosystem. This opinion piece argues that research assessment should be understood as an institutional lever for sustainable development. While quantitative indicators such as publications, citations and grant income have facilitated large‑scale evaluation, an over‑reliance on such measures can narrow research agendas and under‑recognize activities that contribute to openness, collaboration, integrity and societal impact. This study aims to describe the Mandarin speaking performance of eleventh-grade IBB students at the Laboratory High School of Universitas Negeri Malang and to examine the relationship between foreign language anxiety (FLA) and Mandarin speaking performance. A quantitative correlational design was applied to 24 students selected through total sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using an adapted Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS; Horwitz et al., 1986), while speaking performance was assessed through role-play dialogues scored with an analytic rubric. 労力の強度や効率性とその時間を１０倍にするのは無理です。ストレスが１０倍になったら危険です。楽しく、最初は小さなことをコツコツと、そしてユーピの第４原則を使って、サイクルを上手に作り、絶えず目標とやり方を工夫しながら進化させます。そして、何よりも何かを向上させるプロジェクトについては、天父にシニアパートナーになっていただき、細かいことについても相談し、指示を仰ぐのです。天と調和するとき、自分の力をはるかに超えることができるのは当然ですよね。

次に、「影響力」とはどういう風に働かせるのか。自分一人ですべてのことをやろうとしたら限りがあります。でも、誰かほかの人に働きかけて一緒にやれば、自分の影響力を、1.2倍とかにするのは控え目に見積もってもできるでしょう。その輪を広げていくと、３倍とか５倍とかにまでできますよね。さらに、相手の人やグループの人に働きかけて、その人やグループが、関係ある人たちに自分が与えようとしている影響力を、その人たちの方法で周りに発散するように丁寧に訓練していくなら、時間はかかるかもしれませんが、結果的には、自分の力の及ぶ人たちの全体として、自分の１０倍以上の影響力を周りの人たちに対して与えることになります。

以上のように考えると、１０倍の影響力を社会に対して与えるというのは、あながち不可能ではないと、意外と、根気よくやればできることだと思えてきませんか？

The Impact Of Code-Switching In Daily Conversation: An Inclusive Effort To Reduce Language Anxiety Among Arabic Education Students, Subhi Muhamad

Abstract: This study examines the role of code-switching in daily conversation among Arabic Language Education students, focusing on its relationship with foreign language anxiety (FLA) and willingness to communicate (WTC). Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations and interviews involving 28 students. The findings indicate that code-switching functions as an adaptive communicative and psychological strategy that supports interaction, reduces anxiety, and increases speaking participation. However, excessive reliance on the first language may hinder linguistic accuracy. The study highlights code-switching as a form of psychological scaffolding in Arabic language learning.
