Background: The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand William & Mary (W&M) Master of Business Administration (MBA) military alums’ experiences with their career transitions post-graduation and the influence of the program on their experiences.

Methods: This study utilized a case study design, including focus groups and interviews with 21 alums from the last 10 years and formal, semi-structured interviews with six current faculty and staff. We used Schlossberg’s (1981) individuals’ situation, self, support, and strategies to analyze data using thematic analysis, and then iteratively reducing codes into themes.

Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) Dean of Students office submitted a Request for Assistance with needs related to food and housing insecurity and lack of basic funds for students. To address this request, a doctoral Capstone team conducted a problem and context analysis, literature review, student focus groups, and an internal survey of departments. The goal was to explore the undergraduate experience of unmet needs and to identify gaps and overlaps in basic needs support and services already provided at VCU. In response to a problem of practice presented by the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg, this case study addresses equity in the grant funding and capacity development processes and how small, emergent, grassroots, minority-led nonprofit organizations in one Virginia region are affected. Through the lens of Systems Informed Positive Psychology (SIPP), a convergent mixed-methods approach was used to holistically explore the challenges and needs that these particular nonprofits face. Background: The personal connection that Registered Nurses (RNs) build with patients and their families puts them at the forefront of many conversations during the patient’s stay in the intensive care unit (ICU). Some of the most difficult conversations are related to palliative care (PC). It can be challenging to know how to respond to the complex questions posed in palliative care conversations (PCC) when patients and their caregivers are making decisions that will alter the course of the patient’s treatment, as well as affect the quality and length of their life.

This chapter proposes a novel theoretical framework, Social Information Cultural Competency (SICC), that may be used for designing contextualized information literacy efforts. The SICC approach leverages the frameworks of social informatics, cultural competency, and psychosocial understandings of information behavior to encourage information professionals to develop more nuanced understandings of specific social information cultures. After defining this approach, the chapter then applies the SICC framework to a case study considering information literacy interventions addressing a social information culture engaged in sharing COVID-19 misinformation through social media. Social media offers characteristics to collapse the time, geographical, and financial limitations of informal professional learning, but challenges exist. Continuous professional learning requires proactive actions, wherein self-regulated learning (SRL) plays an important role. This theory is based on the hypothesis that learning is a continual process better supported with smaller, more focused learning resources and activities. Introduction. This multi-year, mixed-methods study compares (a) the reasons administrators and librarians of academic libraries invest in assistive technology for delivering information services to students with disabilities, with (b) the benefits that influence these students’ intention to use AT.

Method. In the first phase, 50 library administrators and 22 librarians from 186 public universities across the US shared their top-three reasons for investing in assistive technology through a qualitative survey. In the second phase, 322 students with disabilities from the same institutions completed a quantitative survey, in which respondents shared individual-level benefits that influence their intention to use assistive technology. …

Universal design for learning (UDL) is an inclusive design framework. Faculty and instructional designers were surveyed to investigate UDL implementation in higher education. This survey was based on one used by Westine et al. (2019). Results about how faculty and instructional designers learn about UDL, how instructional designers train and support faculty in UDL, and why and how participants choose to employ UDL are shared. The results from this study have provided new findings in relation to faculty and instructional designer UDL implementation efforts in higher education that have implications for training and supporting faculty with UDL application efforts.

Library and information science (LIS) graduates are expected to serve patrons from diverse backgrounds, including disabled patrons. While serving patrons with disabilities is a core value of librarianship, graduates often feel unprepared to serve disabled patrons, suggesting that programs inadequately train students to design accessible services. This study’s authors analyzed hundreds of course descriptions and 73 syllabi from 20 North American LIS programs to determine how often accessibility and disability topics are covered and how educators teach accessibility. Findings indicate that accessibility and disability topics are mostly covered in electives, meaning students may never develop accessibility competencies during their programs. …

While serving all library patrons is a core value of librarianship, patrons with disabilities are often overlooked. A contributing factor to this reality is that many graduates of Library and Information Science (LIS) programs feel ill-equipped to serve disabled patrons. This works-in-progress poster presents preliminary results from an analysis of 241 syllabi from 76 North American LIS programs to determine how often accessibility and disability topics are covered in curricula. The analysis also considers how courses prepare students to effectively advocate for and implement accessibility within their professional practice. Integrative learning is an important outcome for graduates of higher education. Therefore, it should be well-defined and assessed reliably. The American Association of Colleges & Universities has developed a rubric to define and assess integrative learning, but it has low reliability. This pilot study examines whether this rubric's reliability can be improved by training users on how to use the rubric in a group setting rather than individually. Twelve faculty were trained to score undergraduate ePortfolios using the Integrative and Applied Learning VALUE Rubric. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนและผู้นำรุ่นใหม่ 2) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาผู้นำรุ่นใหม่ 3) วิเคราะห์จุดแข็ง จุดอ่อน โอกาส และภาวะคุกคามของการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาผู้นำรุ่นใหม่ และ 4) พัฒนากลยุทธ์การบริหารโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาผู้นำรุ่นใหม่ ดำเนินการวิจัยโดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะ (Multi-Phase Mixed Method) ใช้วิธีเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Data) และข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณ (Quantitative Data) กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือ โรงเรียนประถมศึกษา สังกัดสำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการศึกษาเอกชน 338 โรงเรียน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลคือ ผู้อำนวยการรองผู้อำนวยการหรือหัวหน้างานวิชาการ และครูผู้สอนชั้นประถมศึกษา เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยได้แก่ แบบสอบถามและแบบประเมิน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลคือ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็น และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาจากการสนทนากลุ่ม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) กรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาเอกชน ประกอบด้วย 3 งาน คือ (1) การพัฒนาหลักสูตร (2) การจัดการเรียนรู้และการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร และ (3) การวัดและประเมินผล กรอบแนวคิดการพัฒนาผู้นำรุ่นใหม่ ประกอบด้วย 7 องค์ประกอบ คือ (1) มีวินัยในการปฏิบัติ (2) มีความเป็นเลิศในการบริหารจัดการ (3) เป็นผู้นำเชิงเจตนารมณ์ (4) มีการเรียนรู้เชิงรุก (5) มีความกล้าหาญเชิงผู้ประกอบการ (6) มีแนวทางแบบองค์รวม และ (7) มีกรอบความคิดแบบสากล 2) สภาพปัจจุบันของการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาผู้นำรุ่นใหม่จำแนกตามการบริหารโดยภาพรวม มีค่าเฉลี่ยอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยด้านการวัดและประเมินผล มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงที่สุด สภาพที่พึงประสงค์โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด โดยด้านการพัฒนาหลักสูตร และการจัดการเรียนรู้และการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุดเท่ากัน ทั้งนี้ค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็นของการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาผู้นำรุ่นใหม่สูงที่สุด คือ ด้านการจัดการเรียนรู้และการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร 3) จุดแข็งคือ การพัฒนาหลักสูตร และการวัดและการประเมินผล จุดอ่อนคือ การจัดการเรียนรู้และการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร โอกาสคือ สภาพสังคมและเทคโนโลยี และภาวะคุกคามคือ การเมืองและนโยบายของรัฐ และสภาพเศรษฐกิจ 4) กลยุทธ์การบริหารโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาผู้นำรุ่นใหม่ ประกอบด้วย …

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงทดลองมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาโปรแกรมลดความเครียดตามแนวคิดส่งเสริมสติและการสร้างความเป็นชุมชนสำหรับนักเรียนในบริบทการเรียนออนไลน์ 2) เปรียบเทียบคะแนนความเครียดก่อนและหลังการทดลองของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 3) เปรียบเทียบคะแนนความเครียดของตัวอย่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายโรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏสวนสุนันทา ปีการศึกษา 2565 ภาคเรียนที่ 1 จำนวน 41 คน โดยใช้วิธีการเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจงและแบ่งตัวอย่างลงกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมผ่านการสุ่มอย่างง่าย กิจกรรมใช้ในโปรแกรมประกอบด้วย การทำสมาธิ การคิดอย่างมีสติ การทำโยคะส่งเสริมสติ ฯลฯ โดยมีการจัดโปรแกรมทั้งสิ้นจำนวน 8 ครั้ง ครั้งละ 30 นาที รวมทั้งสิ้น 240 นาที ผู้วิจัยใช้การทดสอบทีเพื่อเปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนความเครียดในการทดลอง ผลการวิจัยพบว่าหลังจากตัวอย่างกลุ่มทดลองได้เข้าร่วมโปรแกรม ตัวอย่างมีระดับคะแนนความเครียดที่ลดลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 (ก่อนการทดลอง x̄=2.165 และ SD=.437 หลังการทดลอง x̄=1.850 และ SD=.411) โดยตัวอย่างมีความเครียดลดลงในด้านร่างกาย ด้านความสัมพันธ์ และด้านการเรียน อย่างไรก็ตามไม่พบความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ระหว่างตัวอย่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมหลังจากการทดลอง (กลุ่มทดลอง x̄=1.850 และ SD=.411 และกลุ่มควบคุม x̄=1.992 และ SD=.360)
