A Survey Of Housing Conditions And Proposed Housing For The Utah State Agricultural College, Lenore Lewis May 1936

A Survey Of Housing Conditions And Proposed Housing For The Utah State Agricultural College, Lenore Lewis

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

One of the most obvious as well as the most complex problems with which the Utah State Agricultural College has to deal is that of finding and keeping suitable living quarters for the students under its care. When the institution was small the matter was fairly easy to adjust. But with the extraordinarily rapid increase in the number of young people attending the college it has become a most perplexing problem.

Basketball: A Scientific Study Of The Marquette University Squad For The Season Of 1935-36, William M. Rubado

Bachelors’ Theses

A scientific study of basketball has been carried on at Marquette University for the past five years under the guidance of Coach William S. Chandler. Charts and graphs have played an important part in assisting Coach Chandler in developing his teams.

Studies of this nature have been carried on for the past five years starting from the 1932-33 season, when Clem Eible compiled the first collected work on the team, followed by Adolph Gorychka who based his work on the 1933-34 season. Last year Ray Mortstadt followed up this scientific study and the present season of 1935-36 is the fourth …

Remedial Work In Third Grade Reading, Mary St. Philip May 1936

Remedial Work In Third Grade Reading, Mary St. Philip

Bachelors’ Theses

Pew subjects are of greater importance in the primary grades than reading. Without it, all other branches are practically failures because reading is absolutely and unquestionably necessary for successful work in all studies. Therefore, it should be the principle aim of every primary teacher to develop fluent, intelligent readers in the lower grades.

Maneuvers In World History, Harold E. Barto May 1936

Maneuvers In World History, Harold E. Barto

All Faculty Scholarship for the College of Education and Professional Studies

In February 1935 the Washington Education Joumal carried a brief article under the title of "World History, 'What's It All About?'" Since then several letters have come from world history teachers from within the state. Frankly, they have caused some embarrassment. In almost one accord they have chided the writer with pointing out some of the problems relative to presenting world history without giving a hint as to possible remedial measures. The following suggestions no doubt represent methods which are being employed by all history teachers either directly or indirectly. They are neither new nor unique. However, they may help …

An Analytical Study Of Utah Verse To Determine What Utah Poetry Might Be Recommended For Study In Elementary And Secondary Utah Schools, Lawrence James Sorenson May 1936

An Analytical Study Of Utah Verse To Determine What Utah Poetry Might Be Recommended For Study In Elementary And Secondary Utah Schools, Lawrence James Sorenson

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

This study has a primary and a secondary purpose. The primary purpose is to call attention to the question of whether or not Utah verse should be introduced for study into the elementary and secondary schools of Utah. The author does not want to imply that he will give a satisfactory answer to this question. He hopes, however, that this effort will emphasize the question and stimulate thought concerning the same. It seems reasonable to suppose that most of the Utah school officials who are concerned in any way with literary material for school curricula will agree that, if there …
