The purpose of this phenomenological study was to understand Liberian elementary school teachers' attitudes and their perceptions toward inclusive education for children with disabilities in mainstream classrooms in Monrovia City, Liberia. The participants were ten elementary school teachers. The theory that guided this study was Albert Bandura's social learning theory, which relates to social interactions and learning. The social learning theory surmises that learning and socialization occur in four phases. These stages are attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation. Education remains a critical challenge for many countries, with ongoing research seeking to better understand the complex dynamics of learning and teaching. In this paper, we propose an agent-based model to simulate student behavior in the classroom, focusing on the role of introversion and stress in learning and engagement. Our framework models how these psychological factors interact with classroom conditions to shape student experiences. The model was evaluated by an expert and offers a simulation environment to explore the impact of different classroom dynamics on student learning outcomes.

As the population of English Learners (ELs) continues to grow in U.S. public schools, secondary music educators must be equipped to provide inclusive and equitable instruction. This study investigates secondary choral directors’ challenges, instructional strategies, and beliefs in supporting EL students. Survey responses from 17 choral educators and follow-up interviews with two participants revealed that language barriers, time constraints, and insufficient training were the most frequently cited obstacles. Educators reported using strategies such as repetition, simplified language, and peer support systems; however, tools like bilingual materials and translation technology were underutilized despite being perceived as effective. Rich data was collected through reflective papers from 56 students and three focus groups (20 students). These policies not only pose a direct threat to the physical and psychological safety of marginalized students but also undermine the institutional support systems essential for their personal and academic development. This thesis explores the intersection between literature and trauma, which can be discerned in the key works of two poets, Sylvia Plath and Louise Glück. While offering readings of crucial poems, the thesis also examines the interrelations among trauma, memory and narrative as theorized by two contemporary psychiatrists, Bessel van der Kolk and Judith Herman. Both Plath and Glück wrote about personal and generational trauma after going through different experiences of abandonment.
