An Examination Of Impact Of Immigrant Entrepreneur Cultural Intelligence On Performance During Crisis, Arpita Joardar, Sibin Wu
An Examination Of Impact Of Immigrant Entrepreneur Cultural Intelligence On Performance During Crisis, Arpita Joardar, Sibin Wu
Management Faculty Publications
This paper integrates research from cross-cultural management and entrepreneurship to examine the interactive effects of cultural intelligence (CQ) and individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO) on performance during times of crisis such as the Covid-19 pandemic. We argue that the various dimensions of CQ will have differential effects on performance due to the unusual circumstance. The findings indicate that contrary to expectation, knowledge CQ has negative effect on performance. However, as predicted, skills CQ was found to have positive effect on performance while meta-cognition CQ has a significant negative effect on the same during crisis. Additionally, there was evidence of significant interaction …

With the rise of AI, businesses now have the opportunity to integrate AI and the Metaverse as complementary technologies, reshaping their strategies for innovation and competitive advantage. We researched the top 500 global brands to uncover lessons from entry approaches taken. …

Eat The Rich? Eat The Poor: The Growing Disparity Between Corporate Greed, Ceo Pay, And Minimum Wage Stagnation, Kayla D. Ocallaghan, Uzoamaka Anakwe
Honors College Theses
This paper analyzes the CEO to minimum wage compensation ratio between 2010-2023 in the United States. By assessing reported compensation of 30 certain disciplined U.S. publicly traded companies in the 2023 Fortune 500 and with total compensation for CEOs disclosed through the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings (DEF 14A), a comparative ratio and significance study adjusted for inflation occurs. While average CEO compensation remained consistent in real value, the average CEO to minimum wage compensation ratio was above 1,000:1 for a majority of the companies and over 2,000:1 for a select few by 2023. These results indicate that the …

Additive Manufacturing And Sustainability, Eric J. Venzor-Villarreal
Sustainable Supply Chain Management
This chapter explores the transformative role of Additive Manufacturing (AM), or 3D printing, within modern supply chains, with a particular focus on its adoption in the aerospace and defense industries. It begins by introducing the core technologies behind AM and tracing its historical development. The chapter then examines the advantages of AM—such as reduced material waste, faster prototyping, and decentralized production. Mindful Symbiotic Ecosystems. Designing For Women In Remote Workspaces, Andrea Guevara Araujo
Mindful Symbiotic Ecosystems. Designing For Women In Remote Workspaces, Andrea Guevara Araujo
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Women represent 61% of designers in the workforce but hold only 29% of leadership roles. This disparity highlights a critical need for an ecosystem that removes barriers and cultivates mentorship, community, and leadership among women (Bolt, 2020). Even though women have proven their ability to succeed in male-dominated corporate cultures, the real question is not about capability but sustainability. Driven by overwork, competition, and burnout, the workplace does not just push women out; it leads to long-term instability for the entire organization (Krivkovich et al., 2024). In the workplace, a culture of masculinity reinforces harmful, outdated mindsets and glorifies aggressive, …

I gathered ideas from books and articles and also talked to business leaders from different industries to see what has worked for them. In my research, I found that companies like Google, Amazon, Netflix, and Patagonia show that when workers are trusted and given room to share ideas, …

Exploring Contributions Of Partnerships Between Employers And Disability Organizations On Recruitment, Hiring, Training, Retention, And Accommodation Of Individuals With Disabilities In Mississippi, Peter Oluwadare Kalejaiye
Dissertations
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 provides equal employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities (IWDs) by prohibiting discrimination in employment. However, one out of four IWDs face discrimination in employment in the United States (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2023). Additionally, despite establishing the Office of Disability Employment Policy and enacting the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to help integrate IWDs into the workforce, IWDs face barriers to equal and equitable employment (NASEM, 2017). Previous studies recommend partnerships between employers and disability organizations (DOs) to provide employment opportunities and benefits for IWDs through recruitment, hiring, training, retention, and …

Federal Telework Intensity, Perceived Organizational Support, And Perceived Supervisor Support As Predictors Of Affective Commitment In A Post-Pandemic Environment, Jamaris Moore
Dissertations
The COVID-19 pandemic forced many governments to transition to non-traditional work such as telework (Lunde et al., 2022). However, in a post-pandemic environment, federal agencies required their employees to return to the offices (Office of Management and Budget, 2021), which led employees to agency hop, looking for more accommodating work arrangements (The Committee on Oversight and Accountability, 2022). Therefore, the researcher sought to determine if telework intensity (TI), perceived organizational support (POS), and perceived supervisor support (PSS) predicted employee organizational commitment (OC). The researcher used a quantitative correlational cross-sectional survey to assess 202 federal employees from two Department of Defense …

Designing An Interactive Visual Analytics System For Precipitation Data Analysis, Dong Hyun Jeong, Pradeep Behera, Bong Keun Jeong, Carlos David Luna Sangama, Bryan Higgs, Soo Yeon Ji
Management and Decision Sciences
As precipitation analysis reveals critical statistical characteristics, temporal patterns, and spatial distributions of rainfall and snowfall events, it plays an important role in planning urban drainage systems, flood forecasting, hydrological modeling, and climate studies. It helps engineers design climate-resilient infrastructure capable of withstanding extreme weather events, which is becoming increasingly important as precipitation patterns change over time. With precipitation analysis, multiple valuable information can be determined, such as storm intensity, duration, and frequency. To enhance understanding of precipitation data and analysis results, researchers often use graphical representation methods to show the data in visual formats. Although existing precipitation analysis and …
