This article examines the problem of public finance in Morocco in relation to economic and social development. It reviews the main historical stages that shaped the country's fiscal and budgetary structures and analyzes the role of financial policy in development choices. The study considers public revenue, taxation, public expenditure, and budgetary balances as instruments through which the state seeks to support growth, social transformation, and national development.

Separate But Not Equal: Toward A Nomological Net For Migrants And Migrant Entrepreneurship, Lisa Jones Christensen, Arielle Badger Newman, Heidi Herrick, Paul Godfrey

This paper considers migrants on a continuum in terms of voluntariness of departure and intended timeframe in the new location. The corresponding 2 x 2 framework offers a theory-driven typology with which to consider four groups: exiles, sojourners, immigrants, and refugees. We apply the framework to the topic of migrant entrepreneurship, demonstrating the need for separate consideration of refugee and immigrant entrepreneurs. We propose ways in which types of capital differ between the two and discuss how differences affect entrepreneurial endeavors. Like many other municipal governments, Lexington utilizes a web of partnerships to support economic development. These relationships take many forms; LFUCG employs grants, tax incentives for businesses, and contracts with other organizations. Unlike some of its peers, though, LFUCG does not have a strategic plan in place to drive decision-making processes and sharpen its focus on outcomes. This article explored the lived experiences and perceptions of youths in the Niger Delta regarding the factors that influence the decision to become an entrepreneur. Drawing from the theories of motivation and planned behavior, the conceptual framework of this phenomenological study underscored the synergetic relationship between entrepreneurial motivations and characteristics. Using semistructured interviews to collect primary data, 20 youth small and medium enterprise owners shared their perceptions and lived experiences regarding their perceived entrepreneurial motivations and characteristics. The analysis and coding of data helped to identify emergent themes based on the modified van Kaam seven-step approach. The research findings revealed …

Bartering, humanity's oldest form of commerce, has been practiced since prehistoric times, with evidence dating back to 8300 B.C. This trade system has endured through various civilizations and economic stages, including the post-industrial era. Today, bartering remains prevalent, comprising 30% of global trade, with modern examples like professional sports player trades. Despite its widespread practice, bartering—referred to as "countertrade" in modern terminology—has received minimal attention in Western business education and research.
