An improvement team at Cheshire Medical-Dartmouth Health participated in the Care Experience Collaborative aimed at enhancing the patient and workforce experience. Utilizing a hybrid Lean Six Sigma DMAIC approach alongside modified Institute for Healthcare Improvement learning techniques, local teams were coached by quality improvement specialists. The project's focus was on improving the complaint management process to boost hospital ratings and recommendations. Initial assessments revealed significant inefficiencies, such as delays in response times and poor tracking of complaint resolutions. Implementing a new digital monitoring system in conjunction with standardized training resulted in substantial improvements: complaint resolution times decreased by 53%, while …

Online services face quality uncertainties. To address user concerns, Online Service Providers (OSPs) sometimes provide service guarantees, compensating users if quality falls below a predefined threshold. This paper analyzes how OSPs use service guarantees to navigate market competition and enhance revenue through game theory and queuing theory models. Key findings include the following: offering guarantees enable OSPs to increase prices; in monopolistic markets, guarantees are offered only if the service guarantee strength is sufficient, whereas in competitive markets, decisions depend on relative strengths and competitor actions. Introduction: The United States Society of Critical Care Medicine has announced a shortage of all critical care intensivists due to the increased need for critical care for the aging population with comorbidities and improved life expectancy. This shortage has led to tele-ICU programs that have allowed intensivists to care for patients simultaneously remotely.

Purpose – This study investigates the relationships between innovation, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction in pure service companies. Previous studies have shown a negative relationship between quality and productivity in services. However, we argue the two can be positively related when innovation is present.

Design/methodology/approach – We develop and test our hypotheses using secondary data from COMPUSTAT, KLD STAT, and the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). We test our hypotheses using ordinary least squares regression and conduct additional testing using path analysis.

This study surveyed the Louisiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve data base to determine the effects of absenteeism on the association between number of customers served by the organization and measures of organizational output, customer satisfaction, and employee behavior. The Principal Component Analysis indicated that quality of the organization’s output, employee’s satisfaction with their work, and training on employee performance are all positively associated with change in the number of customers served.

Based on a survey of 264 human resources professionals from 10 Society for Human Resource Management chapters in Texas, the authors investigated how human resources professionals accept online degrees compared to degrees based on face-to-face coursework for hiring and promotion purposes. If respondents were satisfied with their own online course experiences, they were most likely to view their organization as treating an online bachelor’s or master’s degree as equivalent to a traditional degree for hiring or promotion purposes.
