Mda Foundation: Mda Foundation Teams Up With Victors For Veterans Program, Anne Berquist
The Journal of the Michigan Dental Association
The MDA Foundation partners with the Victors for Veterans (V4V) program to provide dental care to impoverished veterans in Michigan, especially those with disabilities, homelessness, or limited income. The program, established in 2012, currently operates in the VINA Community Dental Center in Brighton, Michigan, providing free dental services to veterans in the region. The MDA Foundation supports this initiative with grants to secure clinic space, enabling 30 to 60 veterans to receive comprehensive dental care annually. Dental students at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry volunteer their time and skills and precept dentists oversee patient care.
Dentistry And The Law: Problems With Referral Incentives Explained, Dan Schulte Jd
Dentistry And The Law: Problems With Referral Incentives Explained, Dan Schulte Jd
The Journal of the Michigan Dental Association
Incorporating referral incentives in dentistry, like gift cards or raffles, can present ethical and legal issues. The MDA's ethical rule 4.E prohibits rebates or fee splitting, extending to any referral source, including patients. Gift cards may be perceived as rebates. Raffle tickets are less problematic, but only the winner gains something of value. State law (MCL 333.16221) deems fee division unethical. For insurance and dental plan agreements, check for clauses mandating specific fee schedules and discouraging referral fees to ensure compliance. Federal laws might also apply if incentives are used for Medicaid or Medicare patients.
Coaching And Laissez-Faire Leadership Styles, Michelle C. Dziurgot Dds
Coaching And Laissez-Faire Leadership Styles, Michelle C. Dziurgot Dds
The Journal of the Michigan Dental Association
Editor Dr. Michelle C. Dziurgot discusses the differences between coaching and laissez-faire leadership styles in dentistry. Coaching leaders motivate and educate their team members, fostering collaboration and improvement. In contrast, laissez-faire leaders take a more hands-off approach, allowing team members to make decisions independently. The author, a dentist, describes how she combines both styles in her practice, emphasizing the importance of educating and coaching team members while allowing them to take ownership of their roles. The editorial highlights the need for patient engagement in oral health care and the importance of coaching patients to take an active role in their …

Assessing Small And Medium Enterprises’ Innovation Capabilities Within A Rapid Economic Transformation: An Empirical Study In Saudi Arabia, Mohanad Jabreel Aboudayah
Assessing Small And Medium Enterprises’ Innovation Capabilities Within A Rapid Economic Transformation: An Empirical Study In Saudi Arabia, Mohanad Jabreel Aboudayah
Dissertations
The theory of dynamic capability posits that environmental uncertainty and organizational flexibility drive the growth of innovation capability at the firm level. Environmental uncertainty is the inability of the firm to quickly and accurately forecast changes in economic conditions. Building innovation capability can mitigate environmental uncertainty and enable the firm to gain a competitive advantage by innovating continually in response to evolving circumstances. Organizational flexibility, a key element of the firm’s managerial capabilities, is necessary but not sufficient to attenuate environmental uncertainty. Organizational flexibility enables the firm to identify and assess emerging opportunities, but pursuing those opportunities requires innovation capability. …

Extant research has explored the difference between ordinary and dynamic capabilities and proposed the role of dynamic capabilities as enabling the configuration and reconfiguration of the organization’s assets in response to or in anticipation of a rapidly evolving market environment, to maintain competitive advantage.
Market sensing dynamic capability has been hypothesized to consist of three key organizational processes – sensing, …
Construction Of Esg Evaluation Index System Of State-Owned Listed Companies: Analysis Based On The Perspective Of Comprehensive Corporate Value, Yiping Sun
Dissertations and Theses Collection (Open Access)
In this paper, I explore the applicability of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) evaluation systems to Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs). I assess these ESG evaluation systems in terms of the overall value of Chinese SOEs and point out that these enterprises do not have their own evaluation system. Establishing an ESG system for Chinese SOEs can encourage them to disclose quantifiable indicators, thus objectively demonstrating their comprehensive ESG performance and helping to enhance their overall value. I examine the current ESG evaluation systems in detail and find that there are many problems in applying the main international evaluation systems to …

The Crusading Days Of Jackie Stewart: Evaluating The Development Of Safety In Motor Racing During The 1960s., Alex Twitchen
The Crusading Days Of Jackie Stewart: Evaluating The Development Of Safety In Motor Racing During The 1960s., Alex Twitchen
Journal of Motorsport Culture & History
This article critically evaluates the contribution of Jackie Stewart in making motor racing a safer sport for competitors. It challenges the validity of the popular assumption that Jackie Stewart by himself developed a ‘culture of safety’ that transformed the sport. Instead, the role of other individuals are identified alongside the importance of three social processes. These processes are identified as the changing balance of power between different masculine identities, the development of commercial sponsorship and a growth in the coverage of the sport on television.
The development of motor racing from the 1960s onwards as a safer sport in which …

Virtual Supervisor Communication Effectiveness And Intrapreneurial Motivation: The Mediating Roles Of Affective Organizational Commitment And Occupational Self-Efficacy, Matthew G. Kingham
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
Intrapreneurial motivation is a key concept in which organizations can leverage the power of individual employees to increase the level of organizational innovation that is needed to maintain competitiveness. As virtual work environments are becoming more common, it is necessary to improve communication effectiveness in order to foster the intrapreneurial motivations of their employees. This quantitative study examined the relationship among supervisor communication effectiveness, occupational self-efficacy, affective organizational commitment, and intrapreneurial motivation using a model constructed primarily based on self-determination theory. Survey data was analyzed from 540 participants recruited via an online portal. Using structural equation modelling, hypotheses predicting the …

An Examination Of Reward-Based Crowdfunding Performance And Success, Matthew Alan Grace
An Examination Of Reward-Based Crowdfunding Performance And Success, Matthew Alan Grace
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Reward-based crowdfunding (RBCF), where fundraisers raise funds from a crowd of investors in return for a reward, has carved a niche as a proven option for not just entrepreneurs seeking early-stage funding, but also for established firms looking to presell or market a new product or service. Establishing crowdfunding performance and success factors is important for researchers and practitioners alike. Fortunately, a large portion of the RBCF academic literature is immediately applicable to entrepreneurs, with very little additional interpretation required. However, important questions about RBCF remain. The first paper in this three-part dissertation, a systematic literature review, examines some of …

Does Work-Life Boundary Management Improve Work-Life Balance For Remote Workers: A Critically Appraised Topic, Danyelle L. Berger
Engaged Management ReView
This topic paper examines whether managing the boundaries between work life and personal life positively affects work-life balance in the context of remote work. The research that forms the basis of this topic paper is derived from five scholarly, peer-reviewed articles relevant to the stated purpose. The findings are mixed. In the long term, they indicate that successful management of the boundaries between work life and personal life affects work-life balance positively, while non-management of boundaries affects work-life balance negatively. In the short term, the findings demonstrate that managing boundaries in a way that allows for temporary and deliberate weakening …

Does Engaging Commercial Customers In A Shared Social Mission Improve Impact Sourcing Service Provider (Issp) Success? A Critically Appraised Topic, Michael F. Corbett
Engaged Management ReView
This topic paper examines whether engaging commercial customers through a shared social mission improves the success of social enterprises. It is based on an examination of a subset of the information technology and business process outsourcing (ITO/BPO) industries, known as impact sourcing service providers (ISSPs). ISSPs are social enterprises – B2R Technologies and Digital Divide Data are two examples – that provide call center, transaction processing, data entry, and other technology-enabled services for commercial customers from remote locations around the globe. What is unique about ISSPs is that they do this with a social mission of creating jobs and economic …
