In the field of visualization, understanding users’ analytical reasoning is important for evaluating the effectiveness of visualization applications. Several studies have been conducted to capture and analyze user interactions to comprehend this reasoning process. However, few have successfully linked these interactions to users’ reasoning processes. This paper introduces an approach that addresses the limitation by correlating semantic user interactions with analysis decisions using an interactive wire transaction analysis system and a visual state transition matrix, both designed as visual analytics applications. This study investigates the effect of Nigeria’s population on four selected banking transaction channels. The Nigerian projected population (2022-2027) was used as an input variable for forecasting future volumes of transactions for each channel. The results show that the Support Vector Regression (SVR) model best fits the ATM, Online, and USSD channels of transaction while the Grey-box was better for POS. The forecast results show that ATM, online, and USSD channels had their highest volume of transactions in 2023, while for POS, the highest volume was recorded in 2027. I argue that the Uncovered Interest Rate Parity (UIRP) relationship depends on the Economic Policy Uncertainty zones (EPU). The UIRP-EPU relationship is state-dependent, non-linear, and asymmetric. Using the monthly data for the sample period January 1999 to December 2023, I test the relationship between changes in the U.S. Dollar in the Euro exchange rate and the spread between the yields on the 10-year U.S. Treasury Note vs. the euro area 10-year convergence bond. This study investigates the effect of a firm’s indoor environment quality (IEQ) on its information production. Leveraging a third-party sustainability building rating system that provides IEQ scores for office buildings, we first show that employees in a firm’s headquarters with better IEQ scores are more likely to leave positive building-related feedback on Glassdoor, indicating employees’ recognition and appreciation of a workplace with superior IEQ. Next, we find robust evidence that firms headquartered in buildings with better IEQ issue more frequent and more accurate management forecasts. In my dissertation, I examine whether this change in the information environment is associated with a change in discretionary compensation as a result of decision-useful information conveyed in the mandated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures. We study how, when target firms are engaged in strategic alliances, the ambiguity surrounding an acquisition's anticipated synergies influences investors' reactions to announcements of acquisitions. Drawing on behavioural finance research and the resource redeployment literature, we predict that investors' limited access to the information encoded in the target firms' alliances and the uncertainty around the re-deployability of their embedded resources generate a negative relationship between the number of target alliances and investors' reactions. The Transitional Mental Health Association (TMHA) parking lot project in Edna, California, aimed to construct a 4,400 SF decomposed granite (DG) parking lot for the TMHA’s Youth Treatment Program (YTP). TMHA’s YTP involves giving children in a transitional housing state a safe and welcoming place to live while addressing the problem of unhoused children in San Luis Obispo County. This initiative involved extensive grading, forming, surveying, and installing the necessary infrastructure to ensure both functional and aesthetic improvements for the facility. Using a unique dataset comprising 6313 firm-year observations for Chinese listed firms between 2008 and 2017, we investigate the impact of CEO social capital on cost of debt. Our results show that CEO social capital is negatively related to cost of debt, and the impact of CEO social capital in environments with a low degree of marketization or social trust is more pronounced than in environments with a high degree of marketization or social trust. Moreover, our results reveal that two potential mechanisms, discretionary accruals and information disclosure quality, mediate the impact of CEO social capital on cost of debt.

Leveraging simulated data from the European Sunrise Science Data Center, the TFNO? an extension of the Fourier Neural Operator (FNO) that incorporates tensor decomposition for improved handling of high-dimensional data?is employed to solve time-varying partial differential equations (PDEs) over a 3D domain. This article aims to construct a monetary condition index (MCI) for five countries in the MENA region, namely Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco, in order to interpret the stance of monetary policy in these countries. A broad MCI has been constructed by combining two transmission channels of monetary policy, the real interest rate and the real effective exchange rate, along with bank credit to the private sector.
