Allyship And Social Support Networks: Examining Feelings Of Safety And Confidence Among Lgbtq+ Sports Officials, Jacob K. Tingle, B. L. Jacobs, A. C. Baeth, M. Katz, C. C. Zvosec

School of Business Faculty Research

For LGBTQ+ employees, research has indicated they feel othered, isolated, and unwelcome within their work communities. In other settings, social networks have been shown to provide stability and a sense of belonging that increases factors associated with mental health, such as self-care, stress moderation, and increased coping behaviors. Because of this, we examined the social networks of self-identified LGBTQ+ sports officials utilizing egocentric network analysis to better understand the influence of LGBTQ+ officials’ social networks on their feelings of safety and confidence and decisions to continue officiating. Participants responded to questions about people (alters) they considered to be allies in …

Did They Think I Was Rude? The Emotional And Relational Consequences Of (In)Congruence Between Perpetrators’ Self- And Meta-Perceptions Of Workplace Rudeness, Nicholas C. Andriese Jan 2026

Did They Think I Was Rude? The Emotional And Relational Consequences Of (In)Congruence Between Perpetrators’ Self- And Meta-Perceptions Of Workplace Rudeness, Nicholas C. Andriese

Graduate Studies Theses and Dissertations 2026

Workplace rudeness negatively impacts employees and costs organizations millions of dollars each year. Although much is known about the consequences of workplace rudeness, little is known about how perpetrators make sense of and respond to their (potentially) rude behavior. In this dissertation, I propose that perpetrators consider not only their self-perceptions of rudeness, or how rude they believe their actions were, but also their meta-perceptions of rudeness, or their beliefs about how rude another person perceived them to be. Because rudeness is subjective and people vary in their perceptual accuracy, self- and meta-perceptions of rudeness are unlikely to consistently …

The Role Of Healthcare Leaders’ Perceived Emotional Intelligence In Staff Acceptance Of Artificial Intelligence Tools, Daniel Brian Mcswain Jan 2026

The Role Of Healthcare Leaders’ Perceived Emotional Intelligence In Staff Acceptance Of Artificial Intelligence Tools, Daniel Brian Mcswain

Doctor of Business Administration Dissertations

Artificial intelligence tools are increasingly used in healthcare, but successful implementation depends on more than technical deployment. Staff acceptance is one important factor that influences whether AI tools are used in practice. Traditional technology acceptance research has emphasized perceived usefulness, ease of use, social influence, and facilitating conditions. Less attention has been given to the role of emotional intelligence and trust during an AI-related change. The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between healthcare leaders’ perceived emotional intelligence and their clinical team’s behavioral intention to use AI tools. The study also examined whether age moderated this relationship …

The Impact Of Corporate Mergers And Acquisitions On Performance From The Perspective Of Growth Pressure, Jiandong Wang

Dissertations and Theses Collection (Open Access)

Against the backdrop of economic volatility and intensified industry competition, firms generally face multidimensional growth pressures, including historical growth pressure, social growth pressure, and market competition pressure. Growth pressure is not only related to firms’ operational stability, but also profoundly influences their strategic choices, particularly merger and acquisition (M&A) behaviour.Grounded in performance feedback theory, this study constructs an integrated analytical framework encompassing growth pressure, M&A strategic decisions, and M&A performance, and systematically examines how different types of growth pressure affect firms’ M&A decisions, as well as how M&A performance varies across different firm characteristics and different types of M&A.

Cash Flow, Working Capital Management And Firm Performance - A Cross-Sectoral Study In An Emerging Market Context, Thuy Thanh Nguyen

DLSU Business & Economics Review

This study investigates the impact of operating cash flow and working capital management on firm performance, with a particular focus on how these relationships are moderated by industry characteristics in an emerging market context. Using a dataset of 1,480 firm-year observations from 185 Vietnamese enterprises between 2016 and 2023, the analysis employs panel data regression with feasible generalized least squares estimation. The results reveal that operating cash flow and accounts payable turnover positively influence return on assets, whereas accounts receivable turnover has a negative effect. Inventory turnover is not statistically significant. Notably, the magnitude and direction of these effects vary …

Information Asymmetry: A Configurational Perspective In Buyer-Supplier Relationships, Soode Vaezinejad Jan 2026

Information Asymmetry: A Configurational Perspective In Buyer-Supplier Relationships, Soode Vaezinejad

Open Access Dissertations

Information asymmetry in buyer-supplier relationships has been linked to several influencing factors. However, these factors are often examined in isolation, limiting understanding of their synergistic effects. Grounded in agency theory, signaling theory, and transaction cost economics, this study adopts a configurational perspective to examine which combinations of factors lead to high information asymmetry. Using a three-part study design, we first conduct a systematic literature review to identify relevant factors, which are then refined and prioritized through a Delphi study. Building on this foundation, fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) is applied to survey data from 385 buyer managers to uncover equifinal …

Revisiting The Foundation Of Strategic Core Theory: Informal Roles And Teamwork Roles In Work Team Centrality, Allen Thomas Shorey Jan 2026

Revisiting The Foundation Of Strategic Core Theory: Informal Roles And Teamwork Roles In Work Team Centrality, Allen Thomas Shorey

Graduate Studies Theses and Dissertations 2026

Strategic core theory makes a distinction between roles within a team that are central to the team’s workflow (i.e., core roles) and those that are not central (i.e., non-core roles) (Humphrey et al., 2009). This line of work has shown that attributes, such as job-related skill of core team members, were more predictive of team performance than those of non-core members. However, this line of work has primarily examined core and non-core roles as defined by formal taskwork roles. In this thesis, I examine patient care teams and management simulation teams with the principal conviction that (a) informal roles and …

The purpose of this study was to understand how Latina leaders managed the dual pressures of balancing career demands with cultural and familial obligations. Using Testimonio as the methodological framework, this study captured the voices and narratives of Latina leaders across industries, offering an …

Is Being A Shareholder ‘In Name Only’ A Problem?, Daniel Schulte Jd Jan 2026

Is Being A Shareholder ‘In Name Only’ A Problem?, Daniel Schulte Jd

The Journal of the Michigan Dental Association

This column addresses the legal risks for Michigan dentists entering "shareholder in name only" agreements with non-dentist entities. Michigan law requires dental practices to be owned by licensed dentists to ensure professional control over public healthcare. Arrangements where management companies or manufacturers can reclaim stock for a nominal fee effectively strip the dentist of true ownership. This lack of control can lead to ethical conflicts, such as pressure to sell specific appliances regardless of professional judgment. Engaging in such schemes may endanger a dentist's license by thwarting state laws intended to protect clinical independence.

Do Students Have Satisfying Educational Experiences At Sustainable Universities? Evidence From Australian Universities, Junru Zhang, Yuan George Shan, Nirosha Dilhani Kapu Arachchilage Jan 2026

Do Students Have Satisfying Educational Experiences At Sustainable Universities? Evidence From Australian Universities, Junru Zhang, Yuan George Shan, Nirosha Dilhani Kapu Arachchilage

Research outputs 2022 to 2026

Drawing on a sample of Australian universities from 2012 to 2018, we investigate the association between the extent of university sustainability disclosure and student satisfaction. University sustainability disclosures are critical for communicating with key stakeholders when seeking resources, thereby facilitating student satisfaction. Using hand-collected data from university annual reports and the Student Experience Survey, we find that the extent of university sustainability disclosure is positively associated with student satisfaction in both short and long terms. Our channel analysis suggests that sustainability disclosures help universities attract increased government funding and student income. Moreover, universities with a greater extent of sustainability disclosure …

Journal of the American College of Dentists

This article examines how members of the dental profession can sustain their longstanding reputation as trusted advisors amid declining public confidence in major institutions. Grounded in ethical principles, informed consent, and professional self-regulation, dentistry has historically ranked among the most trusted professions. The discussion explores challenges to credibility, including media scrutiny, concerns about anesthesia safety, controversial treatment hesitancy, and debates over community water fluoridation. Emphasizing the concept of the “advisor of merit,” the author argues that continued trust depends on truthful communication, transparency about risks, respect for patient autonomy, and freedom from conflicts of interest in clinical and public health …
