The Perpetuation Of Nineteenth Century Amateurism As A British Virtue In Modern Olympic Track & Field, Katrina Marie Smith

This thesis explored the financial plight of modern track and field from a historical perspective. Historically, track and field was governed by organizations originally founded on the concept of amateurism. These organizations included the International Olympic Committee, the International Amateur Athletic Federation (now called World Athletics), the Amateur Athletic Union, Amateur Athletic Association, and amateur athletic clubs of Britain. From the mid-nineteenth century to the 1970s, amateurism dominated track and field worldwide beginning in Britain. In order to understand the financial structure of track and field historically, this thesis endeavored to examine amateurism as a British virtue.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการขุดลอกร่องน้ำชายฝั่งทะเลของประเทศไทยเปรียบเทียบกับพิธีสารลอนดอน 1996 ขององค์การทางทะเลระหว่างประเทศที่มีผลใช้บังคับในปี ค.ศ. 2006 และการดำเนินงานในประเทศอื่นอีก 3 ประเทศ คือ ประเทศออสเตรเลีย ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ และประเทศสิงคโปร์ เพื่อนำเสนอแนวทางการขุดลอกร่องน้ำของประเทศไทยที่มีความเป็นมาตรฐานสากลและเป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม สำหรับประเทศไทยมีการขุดลอกร่องน้ำชายฝั่งทะเลโดยกรมเจ้าท่าเป็นประจำทุกปี โดยการขุดลอกร่องน้ำนั้นมีขั้นตอนที่สำคัญ คือ การขุดลอกร่องน้ำและการขนย้ายวัสดุขุดลอก ซึ่งทั้งสองขั้นตอนนี้อาจก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพของมนุษย์และสิ่งแวดล้อมทางทะเล ผลการศึกษาแสดงว่าแนวทางในการปฏิบัติตามพิธีสารลอนดอน 1996 และในประเทศกรณีศึกษาทั้ง 3 ประเทศ มีขั้นตอนการประเมินวัสดุก่อนที่จะมีการทิ้งเทเพื่อลดผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพของมนุษย์และสิ่งแวดล้อมทางทะเลรวมทั้งสิ้นแปดขั้นตอน ในปัจจุบันประเทศไทยยังไม่ได้เข้าร่วมเป็นภาคีพิธีสารลอนดอน 1996 แต่ประเทศไทยสามารถนำแนวทางการประเมินวัสดุตามพิธีสารลอนดอน 1996 มาเป็นแนวทางปฏิบัติการขุดลอกร่องน้ำชายฝั่งทะเล เพื่อเป็นการลดและป้องกันผลกระทบที่อาจเกิดขึ้น ทั้งนี้ในการดำเนินการอาจมีค่าใช้จ่ายเพิ่มมากขึ้นแต่จะทำให้ประเทศไทยมีการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอวิธีการวางแผนการผลิตโดยใช้แนวคิดระบบผลักและดึงร่วมกัน พร้อมทั้งเสนอนโยบายพัสดุคงคลังทั้งในระดับสินค้าสำเร็จรูปและชิ้นส่วนการผลิต สำหรับธุรกิจ SMEs ประเภทการผลิตแบบประกอบโดยมีประเด็นที่น่าสนใจ คือ ผลิตภัณฑ์ของบริษัทกรณีศึกษามีลักษณะเป็น Make to Stock และ Assemble to Order ที่ใช้ทรัพยากรการผลิตร่วมกัน ทั้งสายการผลิต ชิ้นส่วนการผลิต และวัตถุดิบ ปัจจุบันพบความล่าช้าในการส่งมอบเกินจากที่บริษัทยอมรับได้ 11% งานวิจัยนี้เริ่มต้นจากการรวบรวมข้อมูลการดำเนินงานของบริษัทและนำมาวิเคราะห์หาปริมาณความต้องการ กำลังการผลิต และค่าใช้จ่ายพัสดุคงคลัง เพื่อใช้ในการกำหนดเงื่อนไขว่ากระบวนการผลิตควรใช้ระบบผลักหรือดึง จากนั้นจึงทำการกำหนดนโยบายพัสดุคงคลังจากการศึกษาลักษณะรูปแบบความต้องการของลูกค้า ระยะเวลานำ ความแปรปรวนที่เกิดขึ้นในแต่ละช่วงเวลา รวมไปถึงค่าใช้จ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการบริหารพัสดุคงคลัง จึงได้นำเสนอ นโยบายระดับคงคลังเป้าหมาย (OUL) สำหรับสินค้าสำเร็จรูป เนื่องจากข้อจำกัดด้านกำลังการผลิต และเสนอนโยบายปริมาณการสั่งซื้อที่ประหยัด (EOQ) สำหรับชิ้นส่วนการผลิต จากการเปรียบเทียบต้นทุนการสั่งผลิตและต้นทุนการถือครอง จากรูปแบบกระบวนการผลิตผลักและดึงรวมทั้งนโยบายพัสดุคงคลังที่นำเสนอ ได้ถูกนำไปทดสอบการจำลองการวางแผนการผลิตด้วยโปรแกรม Microsoft Excel พบว่า วิธีที่นำเสนอสามารถใช้ระบบดึงกับชิ้นส่วนแผ่นเหล็กได้ 5 รายการและสินค้าสำเร็จรูปได้ 7 รายการ นอกจากนี้นโยบายพัสดุงคลังใหม่ที่นำเสนอสามารถเพิ่มอัตราการเติมเต็มพัสดุได้ 7 ผลิตภัณฑ์ ส่วนอีก 5 ผลิตภัณฑ์ยังสามารถรักษาอัตราการเติมเต็มได้ที่ 100% ส่วนค่าใช้จ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพัสดุคงคลังทั้งหมดลดลง 29.9% หรือคิดเป็นมูลค่า 92,000 บาทโดยประมาณ

AbstractFollowing the 2007–2008 global financial crisis, the Financial Stability Board identified several areas of weakness in the delivery of deposit insurance, among other interventions. One of the key recommendations related to the use of data by deposit insurers to make their coverage limits more robust. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has received plaudits from international press and organizations for their handling of the COVID-19 crisis, with some describing it as a win for China in terms of propaganda. In this essay, I explore an alternative view: That the CCP is responsible for the origin and extent of the pandemic, and that much of their perceived altruism is carefully disguised opportunism and propaganda. Facts are drawn from scholarly work and the popular press to support my arguments. This essay carries strong implications for interpretation of recent events.

This paper offers an integrated framework to systematically address routine challenges plaguing early product development for highly engineered and complex products, such as automobiles. Virtually everything we own was transported by truck at some point. Around 3.5 million truck drivers haul almost 71% of U.S. freight. To ensure the safety of our roadways, the U.S. government requires all drivers to pass urinalysis drug screens. However, urinalysis drug screens are easily thwarted and some trucking companies use hair drug screens, a more stringent test. This research examines trucking industry data and finds about 300,000 truck drivers would be removed from their positions if forced to pass a hair drug test. Over the last decade, the U.S. airline industry has transformed itself through mergers, restructurings, bankruptcies, and dissolutions. Also during this time, the airline industry focused on a business model that was driven by an emphasis on asset utilization. This was driven by increasing the load factor to increase cost efficiencies through economies of scale so that the return on invested capital could be improved by reducing the operating costs. This study evaluates economies of scale and resultant cost efficiencies in the U.S. passenger airline industry for the period 2013 to 2018. It considers how the forced disruption from the COVID-19 virus has served to help further the development and growth of this channel.

Taxing Cannabis On The Reservation, Mark J. Cowan

American Indian tribes that enter the cannabis industry confront a multisovereign tax system that lacks certainty and horizontal equity. The complex interaction of state legalization and taxation of cannabis, federal tax law, the status of tribes as both governments and business enterprises, and the legal and tax landscape in Indian country can give tribes tax advantages and disadvantages compared to off-reservation cannabis dispensaries. This article analyzes these tax issues, examines them in the context of prior challenges posed by Indian gaming, and suggests reforms that address the tax inequities that can result from cannabis sales on Indian reservations.

International Labor Organization estimated that 40.3 million people were victims of human trafficking in 2016. The high rate of human trafficking has drawn policymakers' attention to this issue and made them enforce anti-trafficking laws and regulations. However, their legal measures have not been based on solid empirical evidence due to the lack of academic research on human trafficking. The scant research available on human trafficking has been mainly descriptive or an investigation of sex trafficking cases to provide help to survivors.
