Connectivity And Savings Propensity Among Odisha Tribals, P.V. Viswanath

Tribal areas are some of the poorest regions of India. An increase in local savings is an important tool in fostering sustainable growth in these areas. This paper uses the results of a survey to examine the factors affecting saving in a rural part of Odisha state populated primarily by tribals. We find that an important determinant of savings propensity is connectivity, which we interpret as a measure of the extent to which individuals feel connected to the broader economy, and an indication of their economic optimism. The data presented in this report was collected as part of the COVID Homeworking for University Staff Survey (CHUSS) project. CHUSS is an international research collaboration looking into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on working arrangements at universities. This study aims to determine the comparison between the combination of these assessments between public and Islamic-based universities. This study adopts a quantitative research methodology. The self-administered questionnaire was distributed each to 200 visitors of the Nusantara Business Institute and YARSI University to find out the comparison of the combined assessment of LibQual and Muslim-friendly Librarian. The study found that the combination of ratings between LibQual and Muslim Friendly Librarian had differences in satisfaction scores between the campuses. This study notes that Muslim-friendly Librarian has a higher satisfaction score for public higher education users than Islamic-based universities

Humans have long interacted with animals. Recently, market-based responses to societal challenges, including loneliness and mental well-being include the use of animals. Considerable research concerning consumer–animal relationships has also examined the benefits (micro, meso, and macro) of human-animal interaction and companionship. However, much of this research is fragmented and lacks a broader organizing framework. It also suffers from an anthropomorphic bias, whereby the interests of animals are excluded. To address this, we provide a macromarketing perspective on consumer–animal relations and explore the interdependencies of consumer–animal relationships on consumer, animal, and community well-being. In this study, I investigate nnoboa and rotated susu systems and how they operate as indigenous cooperatives that mobilize savings from its members. I employ a qualitative approach, comprising seven focus group meetings in seven communities in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality in the Western North Region of Ghana. The findings show that the rotated susu concept emanates from the nnoboa concept and the two systems are underpinned by the following values: trust, synergy, flexibility and empathy, commitment, tolerance and punctuality and promptness. This study examines the relationship between a firm’s characteristics and environmental disclosure quality. Firm’s characteristics in this study refer to the size, ownership concentration, age, and leverage. Content analysis of sustainability reporting was applied in this study. This paper aims to investigate the impact of design perception on consumer based brand equity and examines the mediating role of experiential value and moderating role of openness to experience. Data was collected from 210 consumers of textile apparel brands in Pakistan. Causality Between Actual And Expected Inflation In Central And Eastern Europe: Evidence Using A Heterogeneous Panel Analysis, Yingying Xu, Zhixin Lu, Chi-Wei Su, Jaime Ortiz

International Business and Entrepreneurship Faculty Publications

This study applies a panel Granger non-causality test to explore the causal relationships between actual and expected inflation in Czechia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania. The empirical results for these Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries show significantly positive causalities running from actual to expected inflation. However, the effect of actual inflation on inflation expectation weakens in Hungary and Romania following a financial crisis, and causality is no longer significant for Czechia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. Domestic policies remain important for the management of actual and expected inflation, regardless of the monetary policy regime adopted.

Ron Borzekowski was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Board when he was detailed to join the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (FCIC) as a senior researcher and later became deputy to research director Greg Feldberg. The 10-member bipartisan commission, charged with investigating and determining the causes of the crisis, held more than 19 hearings, and interviewed more than 700 people from September 2009 to Jan. 2011. It issued a 662-page report explaining why the crisis came about and the roles of financial institutions, government, and the public. Established in the wake of the global financial crisis of 2007-09, the FCIC was a bipartisan panel of six Democrats and four Republicans charged with determining the causes of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. Edelberg built the organization from the ground up, hiring staff, instituting operating procedures, establishing guidelines, managing communications, and reporting to the commissioners.
