Using a Jordanian Commercial Banks for the period of 2007-2013, the current paper examines the impact of board characteristics, including the (Board size, independency, separation and managerial ownership) on banks' dividends policy; an OLS regression analysis is used to analyze this relationship. Two major finding have emerged from the current investigation. First, the board size and separation have a statistically significant impact on banks dividends policy. Second, managerial ownership and the independency of the board had no significant impact on dividends policy. Women entrepreneurship research in the developing world relies on theoretical perspectives derived elsewhere. Hence, understanding the original business-development approaches adopted by women entrepreneurs in developing economies remains elusive. Accordingly, we collected and analyzed rich data generated through 31 in-depth interviews and artifacts of Nigerian women entrepreneurs in the garment manufacturing business. Our analysis revealed distinct constructs that account for their business-development activities. It shows money (access and utilization), market (customer intelligence), and management (nonformal education and experience) as crucial enterprise development components in women entrepreneurship. The LEI-N rose by 1.17% during June 2021, the ninth consecutive monthly increase. Steady improvement in the leading indicator implies that economic growth will be strong in Nebraska during the second half of 2021. Three components of the leading indicator rose during June. Business expectations, airline passenger counts, and initial claims for unemployment insurance all showed improvement. Specifically, respondents to the June Survey of Nebraska Business reported plans to increase sales and employment in the state over the next six months. Yesterday afternoon, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced new recommendations regarding face coverings for fully-vaccinated individuals. This guidance comes in the wake of growing concerns over the Delta variant of COVID-19 and declining vaccine uptake rates.

As higher education institutions diversify their student body, they employ tactics specifically aimed at reaching prospective students from minority groups. This study examined marketing tactics used by universities through a content analysis of photographs posted to the Instagram accounts of three faith-based universities in the United States. Photographed individuals were classified into different ethnic groups to understand how frequently members of those groups were visually represented. A Pearson Correlation using data gathered from the content analysis and each university’s enrollment and retention data for Black students did not find statistical significance. Limitations of the study and future research are discussed.

Vietnam plays an important role in bearing global food security. However, Vietnamese rice farmers face several challenges, including pressures to develop sustainable livelihoods while reducing the environmental impacts of their production activities. Various Vietnamese agricultural restructuring policies were promulgated to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly practices to generate high value added for rice farmers, but the farmers are reluctant to adopt them because of perceived lack of demand. Decreasing consumption of rice in Asia and increasing demands in Europe shaped Vietnamese rice exporting policies. The aim of this article was to present a viewpoint from learning as individual and group cognition for the benefit of organization learning scholarship. The results demonstrate that perspective of intentionality is important for understanding how learning as cognition develops into organizational learning. Organizations that recognize perspective as the agency by which learning as cognition develops organizational learning have a better opportunity to remain competitive. Purpose – This study explores the association between individual investor information demand and two measures of market uncertainty – aggregate market uncertainty and disaggregate industry-specific market uncertainty. It extends the literature by being the first to empirically examine investor information demand and disaggregate market uncertainty.

If there is one sector that cannot move 'online', it is accommodation, and SLEs (small lodging establishments) have taken a merciless beating from COVID-19. Typically family-owned and managed, they have relatively high capital costs and overheads which means that even when revenues stop coming in, those liabilities still have to be met. This study by Dr. Manuel Rivera, Dr. Murat Kizildag, and Dr. Robertico Croes, of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, shows how a detailed break-even analysis can inform a business’s strategy for survival within the important SLE sector.

Technology is moving fast, and accordingly, robots are being successfully integrated into several hospitality organizations to improve customer experiences. Theme parks could benefit from robots, to provide efficient and cost-effective services. Yet, there is a lack of research investigating customer perceptions of robots in theme parks. Dr. Ady Milman, Dr. Asli Tasci, and Dr. Tingting Zhang, from UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management, conducted the first investigation into how certain robotic qualities influence customer’s perceptions of and loyalty to the theme park. Their research could inform the future integration of robot technology into theme parks.
