Purpose of study: The effectiveness of organizational capabilities as a method for enhancing the functioning of the organizational immune system was investigated in this research. Methodology: A field research was carried out at an Iraqi insurance business with (150) personnel. This study was utilized to evaluate and answer all of the research questions using a quantitative method. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 30, 2022) – An East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy student organization recently created care packages for women in the community.

The college’s Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI) chapter earned a $450 Hands and Feet grant, which they used to create care packages in conjunction with Agape Women's Services in Johnson City to help expectant mothers through the process of pregnancy and early motherhood. The packages include diapers, wipes, vitamins, supplements, baby bottles, pacifiers, and Bibles. The student pharmacists had a drive at the college to help collect items, and local Walgreens leadership …

The goal of this analysis is to investigate and assess the impact of governance structures on the disclosure of environmental accounting on financial results and firm valuation. The research was carried out on companies listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange in the hospitality sub-sector for the duration of 2015–2019. Sampling is achieved by purposeful sampling. Path analysis and moderated regression analysis are the analysis techniques utilized (MRA). The research aims to identify decent work and its impact in enhancing job immersion. The questionnaire was adopted as a tool to analyze the sample responses of (81) workers to represent an estimated response rate of (88 per cent) out of the total population of (92) individuals. The research adopted descriptive-analytical approach, and reliability calculation, arithmetic means standard deviations, relative importance, and regression analysis adopted on SPSS v.25. Profit Or Purpose: What Increases Medical Doctors’ Job Satisfaction?, Young Kyun Chang, Won-Yong Oh, Sanghee Han

Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology Faculty Research

This study integrates two competing views to examine whether medical doctors are satisfied with their jobs when they perceive their hospitals as being oriented toward profit (i.e., rational choice theory) or purpose (i.e., public service motivation). Using a sample of 127 doctors from 70 hospitals, this study tests these competing views. The results show that doctors who perceive their hospitals as purpose-driven are likely to experience job satisfaction, and this pattern still holds even if they also perceive their hospitals to be emphasizing profits. However, only the purpose-driven orientation results in job satisfaction via a sense of meaningfulness. Thus, this …

Purpose

Drawing from legitimacy and institutional entrepreneurship theory, this study assesses the naming patterns of entrepreneurial firms in the US biotechnology industry.

Design/methodology/approach

The authors use a mixed-methods design of content analysis and regression to analyze a sample of 441 entrepreneurial biotechnology firms, for which data were obtained from Net Advantage. The authors track changes to the proportion of firms with naming attributes, such as name length and type of name. The authors also examine variability in those characteristics during the industry's evolution, comparing freestanding to acquired start-ups.

Effective pre-hire assessments impact organizational outcomes. Recent developments in machine learning provide an opportunity for practitioners to improve upon existing scoring methods. This study compares the effectiveness of an empirically keyed scoring model with a machine learning, random forest model approach in a biodata assessment. Data was collected across two organizations. The data from the first sample (N=1,410), was used to train the model using sample sizes of 100, 300, 500, and 1,000 cases, whereas data from the second organization (N=524) was used as an external benchmark only. We report on the dimensionality, measurement precision, and validity of the Attention to Detail Test (ADT) designed to be a performance-based assessment of people’s ability to pay attention to detail. Within the framework of item response theory, we found that a 3PL bifactor model produced the most accurate item parameter estimates. In a predictive validity study, we found that the ADT predicted supervisor ratings of subsequent overall job performance and performance on detail-oriented tasks. In a construct-related study, scores on the ADT correlated most strongly with the personality facet of perfectionism. The test also correlated with intelligence and self-reported ACT …
