Ai In Business Education: Are Educators Ready To Integrate Emerging Tools?, Molly J. Wickam

Few studies have assessed artificial intelligence (AI) awareness and readiness among business educators or examined AI integration in education through a theoretical lens. This study, informed by the TPACK framework, explored the AI awareness and readiness of secondary and post-secondary business educators to guide educational stakeholders in supporting AI adoption. Using a non-experimental, descriptive design with quantitative survey methods, the study analyzed responses from business educators in the United States using descriptive and correlational statistics. Findings indicate that while most educators are interested in incorporating AI-based tools, they lack knowledge on effective classroom applications. Many use AI for personal tasks …

The remote workplace is filled with all sorts of opportunities. It also brings with it unique challenges that require a very different type of management style. This project is based on a 2023 Edgren Scholarship study, followed by work with David Horsager, the Trust Edge Institute, and interviews with CEOs across the country. We propose a 6-step strategy to build trust at a distance. They include Amplify Communication, Clarify Direction, Establish Predictability, Redefine Accountability, Create Connection, and Equip your Workforce.

This academic research examines the relationship between job engagement, green work climate, job-related anxiety, meaningfulness at work within the organization. It draws attention to identify the significant relations among all these factors and highlights the role of a green work climate in promoting meaningful work and alleviating job-related anxiety. The research emphasizes a diverse sample of employees from various organisations using structural modelling to find the mediating roles of job engagement and work meaningfulness in the correlation between organizational practices, environmental sustainability, and employee satisfaction. Employing a firm-level panel dataset from Statistik Industri for 2008-2015, this study investigates the effect of incoming Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on inefficiency traps in Indonesia. Firms often face transient and persistent inefficiencies in production and resource utilization, impeding optimal efficiency and productivity. Stochastic Frontier Analysis and Tobit estimates quantify the positive impact of FDI spillovers on inefficiency traps, with FDI spillovers reducing both inefficiencies, particularly transient inefficiencies. Foreign investment externalities diminish inefficiencies through spatial and sectoral spillovers, with spatial spillovers exerting a larger influence. Improved human capital and increased access to foreign inputs also contribute to the mitigation of …

Post-surgical spinal infection occurs in up to 20 % of patients, despite aggressive peri-operative antibiotic treatments. To improve prophylaxis, we have designed and evaluated an ultrasound-activated prophylactic antibiotic release system to combat post-surgical bacterial survival. Polylactic acid (PLA) clips (1 cm³) were 3D-printed with an interior reservoir (0.8 cm³) for carrying drug payload, specifically vancomycin (VAN). Under IACUC approval, clips were surgically implanted into the spines of sheep (n = 9) and swine (n = 2) by removing the spinous process at several levels of the lumbar spine. We replicate and extend Flammer’s (2013) event study of investor reaction to environmental corporate social responsibility (CSR). Flammer found that investors reacted positively to eco-friendly events and negatively to eco-harmful events from 1980-2009 and that reaction to positive events decreased while reaction to negative events increased over time. We find similar results for Flamer’s original sample and an expanded sample including the same type of firms (U.S.-listed public firms) from 1980-2019. We then extend Flammer’s results by examining how materiality affects investor reaction over time. We find that investors only react to material events and that positive reaction to material …

The online dating industry generated 2.98 billion USD in 2023 and is estimated to reach 3.6 billion USD by 2025. Not surprisingly, online dating platforms are rife with romance scams that cause financial damages, with estimated losses of 1.3 billion USD in 2022 alone. Additionally, victims suffer emotional and psychological harms. This research examines stakeholder engagement strategies among Indonesian restaurant owners in the United States, focusing on their operational success and business sustainability. Using a qualitative methodology, the study conducted semi-structured interviews with five purposively selected restaurant owners to investigate how they integrate stakeholder interests into business strategies, leverage government support, and adapt engagement practices across different sectors. Change is an inevitable and defining force in organizations. While structured change management frameworks provide critical guidance, they often overlook the human dimensions of change. We investigate mentoring and argue that it should not merely support change initiatives but serve as a strategic driver of successful transformations, serving as a multidimensional driver of cognitive alignment, emotional support, and behavioral adaptation, and introduce a mentoring framework that addresses these areas while bridging the gap between the procedural and human-centric change elements.

Knowledge loss is a common challenge within IHEs—highly educated and skilled individuals leave—often taking the knowledge to do their job well with them. Turnover in IHEs is currently at an all-time high. There is a strong correlation between knowledge management practices and organizational performance.
