A Safety Management System or SMS, is a set of processes and procedures designed to assist members of aviation organizations in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and mitigating those risks (Karanikas et al., 2019). Aviation organizations rely upon a strong safety culture to provide a foundation for managing risks and developing a successful SMS (Robertson, 2018). Introduction Lyme disease (LD) incidence in the United States is highly regional, with most cases occurring in 16 high-incidence jurisdictions. LD incidence and severity of disease have been found to vary by race. This study describes racial differences in knowledge, attitudes toward vaccination, and risk practices related to LD.Methods Four web-based surveys were conducted with adults and caregivers of children in high-incidence jurisdictions and 10 states neighboring them. Respondents were recruited via an established online panel to represent the general population. Self-reported race was pooled into 3 categories: 'White', 'Black or African American', and 'Other' for analysis. Analyses were conducted …

Nonprofit organizations (NPOs) form a sector of society aimed at supporting specific communities without a profit motive and the encumbrances inherent in government organizations. As society has matured, NPOs find themselves engaging in their missions within the context of a highly competitive marketplace. Leadership and staff find that resource requirements are growing, the supply of funding and other sources of support is threatened, and the expectations of their communities are expanding. This dissertation explored how the lack of an effective marketing strategy can result in the loss of consumer loyalty and customer satisfaction when a grocery retailer takes an omnichannel approach. The researcher used a flexible, single case study to explore the potential when a grocery retailer offers services for in-store and virtual platforms when an integrated marketing strategy is not used resulting in the loss of brand equity. The researcher was guided by two critical questions and two sub questions to set the limitations, assumptions and delimitations to understand a contemporary issue. Resource allocation is a vital role of the project manager from the project’s initiation to its completion. The study investigated the failure by project managers in Kenyan government projects to effectively allocate resources leading to the failure or stalling of those projects. This study was aimed at exploring the processes and actions employed by project managers in allocating resources that result in the success, failure or stalling of Kenyan government projects. During the fall of 2023, Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) researchers conducted a statewide study to establish a baseline for public perceptions related to the awareness, understanding, and attitudes about challenges that Utah women and girls face. In early 2024, we published 20 short research summaries that shared the results of this comprehensive study. Then, in the fall of 2024, we administered the survey, with slight refinements, around the state of Utah. We now share the results of the 2024 data by releasing six white papers; this is the fifth in the series.

Roderick Hunt—an educator, brand expert, and fashion designer—integrates writing into his creative practice and brand ethos. Through his label, Uniform Journal, he merges ideas and products, emphasizing both form and function. In a Q&A discussion, Hunt explores how the internet has influenced contemporary cultural practices and challenges the notion of originality in an era of digital interconnectedness.

Synthesizing Metoo: A Meta-Analysis Of Workplace Sexual Harassment In Hospitality And Tourism, Yunxuan Carrie Zhang, Cass Shum

Hospitality Faculty Research

Purpose – Despite increasing research attention on hospitality and tourism workplace sexual harassment, there is a lack of holistic understanding of its nomological networks. This meta-analysis aims to synthesize the antecedents and consequences of workplace sexual harassment in the context of tourism and hospitality.

Design/methodology/approach – A total of 184 effect sizes from 39 independent hospitality and tourism studies (N=12,093) were included in this meta-analysis. Comprehensive MetaAnalysis software was used to analyze the results.

Findings – The results supported victim age and work environment as antecedents of workplace sexual harassment. Workplace sexual harassment affects work-related (job attitudes and job performance) …
