Green Information Systems, Green Culture And Green Innovation Effectiveness: A Triad Model, Zhaojun Yang, Jun Sun, Yali Zhang, Ying Wang

Information Systems Faculty Publications

Contemporary organizations recognize the importance of green innovation for their competitive advantages in the long run, and most existing studies focus on its impacts on organizational performances. Based on the resource-based view, this study examines the roles that green information systems (IS) infrastructure and green culture play in green innovation as tangible and intangible resources. In addition to their direct impacts, green IS infrastructure and green culture may have indirect relationships with green innovation through the alignment between two as well as their alignments with green innovation. The hypothesized triadic relationships among green IS infrastructure, green culture and green innovation …

Cause Placement: A Conceptual Framework And Empirical Findings, Ream A. Shoreibah Jun 2016

Cause Placement: A Conceptual Framework And Empirical Findings, Ream A. Shoreibah

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

The use of embedded marketing, the practice of seamlessly integrating advertising messages into entertainment vehicles, continues to grow as media consumption shifts to on-demand forms, and reaching audiences with traditional advertising becomes more challenging. This dissertation investigates cause placement, the term proposed for the social marketing equivalent of product placement, the more widely known form of embedded marketing. Cause placement is the promotion of pro-social causes by verbally and/or visually inserting related elements into entertainment programming. Cause placement merits its own stream of research, because consumers are expected to react differently to the placement of social issues than to the …

Down-Side Risk Metrics As Portfolio Diversification Strategies Across The Global Financial Crisis, David E. Allen, Michael Mcaleer, Robert J. Powell, Abhay Kumar Singh

Research outputs 2014 to 2021

This paper features an analysis of the effectiveness of a range of portfolio diversification strategies, with a focus on down-side risk metrics, as a portfolio diversification strategy in a European market context. We apply these measures to a set of daily arithmetically-compounded returns, in U.S. dollar terms, on a set of ten market indices representing the major European markets for a nine-year period from the beginning of 2005 to the end of 2013. The sample period, which incorporates the periods of both the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) and the subsequent European Debt Crisis (EDC), is a challenging one for the …

Engaging Race And Power In Higher Education Organizations Through A Critical Race Institutional Logics Perspective, Dian Squire Jun 2016

Engaging Race And Power In Higher Education Organizations Through A Critical Race Institutional Logics Perspective, Dian Squire

Journal of Critical Scholarship on Higher Education and Student Affairs

Engaging today’s issues in higher education requires strong analytical tools that can address the complex nature of our institutional systems and their involved actors. This paper forwards a critical race institutional logics perspective (CRILP). CRILP examines both organizations as they are embedded in a neoliberal and racist society and actor identity, agency, decision-making, and their relation to power. It is important to centralize actor-level racial identity and intersecting identities as race and racism are still pervasive in today’s society. Additionally, the current state of higher education as a market-driven entity leads to thinking about the ways that neoliberalism have permeated …
